The design of the hotel was fantastic, very modern chic and the room was large, comfortable and with a massive comfy bed. Staff were amazing, very friendly and wiling to help. The only critisism, and it is very very minor was the bathroom, I thought they could do with replacing the bath sealer around the edge of the bath which had gone a little black. Aside from this I had a fantastic time and would most certainly stay there again. Well priced, ideally situated for the city centre and a stunning room. As above, just the fact the sealer around the bath had gone off slightly. Nothing else.

Central location, good breakfast, friendly staff. Hand basin in bathroom had large hole that had been covered with duck tape. Tv remote not working but very poor picture anyway.

On the up side the staff are great, nice bar and restaurant. I stay here a lot but the rooms are getting a little tired. For a four star hotel I would also expect better quality beds... They feel a bit cheap.

The staff were polite.Close to Princes street. My room was not cleaned properly. Towels left in the dorrway of bathroom. (Should have been taken away. Bathroom not cleaned very well. Floor had items on it from prevous guest. Fridge in room had an "Out of Order" sign on it. Very noisy. Doors slamming all through the night. Breakfast of poached eggs tasted of anything but. Something had been spilt on the plate? Resulting in soggy toast. Toast had a taste of beer or something ..not nice. Room much smaller than it appeared on the website

The location was perfect for weekend city break and being right in the middle of the city The safe was not working, had to call staff to attend. Tv channels were terrestial only and channel 3 was a fixed screen (heard the programme but couldnt see) The shower screen design (as in type) does not fit the bathroom design, extremelydifficult to use taps to fill / use bath tub. The bar downstairs offered a great discount deal and the food was excellent however all the tables bar two were reserved therefore making it necessary to leave (and therefore spend our money elsewhere - which we did. Made us feel unwelcome Yes I would recommend due to location however would point out the above and suggest they make their own decision

Wonderfully located, 15 minutes walk from the station. Very clean, very comfortable. Decor a bit dark, but everything well matched, well thought out, very comfortable bed and room. Of the 2 reception staff I dealt with, one was a bit serious and did not put herself out The other was extremely friendly and so helpful - about everything, sights, transport, restaurants, drawing directions on a map, etc. Good natured, funny, so happy to help. This was a real pleasure. I accidentally left a small mirror at the hotel; I rang and they managed to find it, to get it back to me - this was lovely. The decor could be a bit brighter, but everything was in very good decorative order. I arrived 2 hours before check-in and was happy to wait, but the person I dealt with could just have checked whether a room might be available early - the hotel was not full. I did have a niece staying there, so was able to leave things in her room for those couple of hours.

The staff of the hotel were wonderful. They were courteous and polite and were willing to answer any questions which was extremely helpful. The hotel was nice. It just needs a slight makeover in order to make it wonderful like the staff.

Very good value for money compared to other like-for-like hotels in the vicinity. Nice boutique style, clean and lovely friendly ambience. Very helpful staff. Also free wifi in all rooms which can be very costly at other hotels. Very dark corridors and room, but we knew that before booking so no horrid surprise. Very noisy in the early mornings but not the hotel's fault, major building works going on next door and across the road. Having said that the whole of Edinburgh is undergoing major building/tram works!

The hotel was, clean and nice the staff was friendly and helpful, the pub downstairs was fantastic, it is nicely located within walking distance to most attactions, and pub crawling distance. If on the first floor, you can hear the noise from the pub, and the street, the room was a little warm even though the heat was off, but couldn't open the windows due to the street noise of traffic and people comming in and out of the pub. The pub closes early so after 1 am it's pretty quiet, I would book this hotel again,

Is this a 4 star hotel? Yes just about. Newly refurbished bathroom and room service. Excellent location although I would imagine it could be noisey at times. For my purposes - it was perfect more than one night - I'm not sure. Very dark lighting. Some items of furniture were a bit tired and not really 4 star. Poor tv and poor selection of channels. No robes as advertised.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was of a very good size and clean. The twin bed was actually two singles stuck together! The hotel also had an adjacent bar, but in fairness we didn't hear a peep - but may put some off..

Good location, friendly staff. Rooms could have been cleaner, the tv reception was poor on certain channels and it was very noisy. I struggled to sleep, it was very rowdy in the hall outside our room and outside.

Was nice and comfortable. Nice rooms and good bath. Comfy bed also The robes were very rough. Had little to no view from room 304 but guess that's why it was cheaper?

Location is ideal for shopping - bars/restaurants, Haymarket and the Zoo. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Bar food was nice - hotel guests get discounts when showing room card. Rooms are modern, clean and have good facilities for a short city break. As it is in City centre location - it can be quite noisy last thing at night and first thing in morning and also you could hear noise from adjacent rooms so would advise against if you are looking for a really quiet hotel.
