Location of hotel.

Room extremely noisy. Had to ring Reception around midnight to complain that people were shouting outside our bedroom.

Very friendly staff. great location, excellent breakfasts!

No a lot, perhaps the lift could be modernised but didnt affect us - would def. recommend.

The only two things I did not like, breakfast was over cooked. And foul language in the bar which no staff did anything about, several people left the bar including myself.

Cleanliness of room.

Breakfast was not what was ordered and I was mislead/uninformed of what I did receive; staff could have been more attentive with what was required. Therefore had to make do with two eggs on a slice of toast out of the three options because I didn't make a request in full as described on the menue. (Choice #3) Will not be staying there again.

The breakfast times could be longer 9.30am finish is early when people have been At a function the night before. Also room was very small and could hardly get in to use the bathroom as so small and I'm am not the biggest of people 5ft 2"

The hotel is a lovely building, clean, with a comfortable bar and large but friendly dining room. The location, right on the corner of Switzerland Road and the Queen's Promenade is to die for, overlooking the sweep of the Douglas promenades and the beach, which is sandy and wonderful for families when the tide is out. There are some benches on the lobby patio, if the weather is that good.The management and staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and make guests feel at home. We could not really fault the place, and it is great value for money.

Best location of any hotel I've stayed in overlooking Douglas bay.

We had a seaview room which was ideal although the bedroom was very very small. It was well heated , The bed it self was comfortable ensuring a good nights sleep.

The cooked breakfast was very poor ! the quality of the produce provided was very cheap !! The sausages were dusgusting as upon slicing you were faced with a mush which resembled condensed catfood !!! The black puddings were dry, the bacon was extremely salty and brittle having been well over cooked, and the whites of the fried egg was like plastic !! having been sat under a heated warmer for far too long. The tea provided was like dish water ! I actually bought some teabags from the local shop on the second morning and placed an extra one in the teapot just to give it a hint of tea flavour . The only elements of the breakfast that was up to scratch was the cereal and toast !!!! The overall hotel could do with an uplift ! it's not only very dated in its decor, but it could certainly use a slash of paint, No disrespect intended but this hotel is only appealing to the OAP's (old age pensioners) who probably pay half price for their stay, and is happy to play bingo in the evenings. It has a 3 star rating but in my opinion it's not worth more than 2 stars at the most !! We walked in and out of the hotel on numerous occasions and on none of those occasions was the reception manned ! even when we checked in we had to ring for attention several times, and again on departure it took 3 rings on the reception bell before we could get anyones attention ! You have requested that we do not state how much we paid for our stay and I will respect that however, I have to say that it was not worth half the amount of cash that we actually paid, and my wife and I will most definately NOT be returning to THe Hydro. Finally I have to add I'm not surprised that the Island is slowly dying if this is the level of service available to the paying visitors.

friendly staff, got our room ahead of normal check in time ,good food, on the sea front, they cook breakfast to order, they do good evening meals we had ours there four nights in a row ,bus stop across the road.

friendly, good food, nice rooms, and not far from the casino if you like a little gamble, great value for money.
