Nicely situated with the sea right in front which wasn't busy, even on a warm day and the large gardens and sports facilities at the back leading down to the canal which was a lovely surprise. The television was ancient and the remote control was kept together with sticky tape. Also the bathroom was so small that you couldn't open the door fully because the loo was in the way, not very 4 star.... |

Very good service. Great location for visitors from across the Channel. Prices in the Spa and restaurant were very fair and staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel rooms, windows and balconies were in need of renovation. The furniture was old and visibly worn. |

Although we hadn't paid extra for a room with a sea view, we were very pleased when we found out that we had been allocated one.The room was very nice, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was large with a really good power shower. It was laso very clean The room was quite small and it was obvious that it had originally been a single room. The bed was pushed up against the wall, there was only one light over the bed and the two bedside cabinets were placed elsewhere in the room. Even so, it was big enough and as we were only there for two nights and spent most of our time out and about, it didn't spoil our stay. |

Swimming pool and sauna was good and the staff was very kind a bit old. I do not understand why garden view room was cold while ocean view room where my friend stayed was very warm. |

I enjoyed the food, the swimming pool and sauna. I had a relaxing head massage. Very helpful and friendly staff. Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, would definitely go there again. |

I thought the position was ideal, and the general atmosphere of the hotel was very pleasant. My husband and I booked our stay to recuperate after a very stressful time and were pleased with the spa and the treatments we booked. We are hoping to come back in july. Although we had a warm welcome from the reception staff, we didnt think an awful lot of the bar staff. (the bar directly opposite the reception). I was left waiting with no acknowledgement and received service with very little eye contact and no smile. |

Comfortable, clean, massive bath, loads of hot water, great staff, lovely location. There's something about the atmosphere around this hotel that I really like, it is graceful, quiet, old fashioned in a good way. Ok so there isn't a flat screen tv & digital channels but who cares? I can watch tv at home. Excellent deal on booking.com as well. The only thing is the loo paper is a bit cheap and rough, would expect softer in a 4* hotel. |

Pleasant (swimmingpool) and from our room nice veuw on the sea; also the food was very good food. On the other hand, rather "chique" (which we could expect so that is no reason to complain), missing the warmth and the personal touch of smaller hotels but also giving more facilities. To resume: we had a preasant stay and shall certainly return. |

Very good value for what we got. Not enough hot water!! The shower was lukewarm, both in the early evening of Saturday at the spa and on Sunday morning. The receptionist was into justification - "we are very busy", rather than apology.The evening meal was ok, but some of the veg was pureed and thus ending up looking a bit more like baby food than I'm sure was intended. |

The upgrade to a suite; the surperb meal served at Dinner: the well trained, efficient and friendly staff, the sea-front location: first class Spa.I hae stayed in this hotel before when it was under different ownership. Mercure has improved the quality of stay in every department.. |

the room was lovely and the pool was very clean. there was a dirty towel which had been folded and put back on the towel rail. not much choice on tv channels and room was quite chilly at first but warmed up. dining room freezing |
