Shame about the bedroom very disappointed !!! A room with 1970s decor room needed totally revamping !!!!!
The location and general feel of quality were special
Very friendly and efficient staff. Buffet breakfast was very good too.
The bathroom was a bit tired (but fully functional).
4 Star Hotel - Paid 3 Star Price Great Breakfast - our 1st room day one was very noisy - the Plant Room was Below us - we made a polite complaint and was moved in the morning with an upgrade to an executive suite - very please
The Bar staff need to be more aware of peoples needs - myself and another customer walked out from the bar following a request from the Bar-tender to take a seat as he would serve us from there - we sat for a full 10 minutes without even a visit from one of the staff - so we and another walked out to get a drink from another pub locally
Friendly, helpful staff. Great view, great on-line price
Housekeeping needs training on how to fold towels, and clean under the chrome work in the bathroom.
The hotel is located right on the sea front and only a short stroll to the town centre. We stayed at the hotel in February, so paid off peak prices. The inclusion of the spa facilities at this price made it very good value for money. The pool is a good size and the over 16s only spa area rivals high end hotels. Despite being the weekend, we had all the space we wanted. The hotel staff were friendly and well dressed. The temperature of our room was beautiful. We warmed up quickly and the baby slept easily.
This hotel clearly has faded glory. The carpets are now looking tired and wallpaper is peeling in some corridors. To be fair, it must be hard to upkeep such a glorious old building. It looked like some renovation works were being completed on the first floor, but without any signs to explain, it just like a bomb site! I could nitpick at more, but I'm not going to as I would recommend this hotel at this price point and I don't want to give any other impression. There is nothing to complain about in the lobby area, spa or the room, which is all that really matters.
Good location and friendly staff.
The decor and furnishings were very tired and bore little resemblance to the photos on the website. Food in the restaurant was quite expensive and the restaurant lacks atmosphere. It is so big and the few people there apart from us were all sat in a corner convenient for staff, not necessarily the best for us.
We liked the friendliness of the staff and the room was very spacious. The hotel's reception was stunning!
The decor of the rooms was a little outdated and some of the furniture in our room was not in great shape. Also, the breakfast buffet was £16 flat rate which was pricey.
It has a certain grandness and charm with spacious rooms and a commanding location - but it feels a little run down.
It all feels a little tired, the whole place feels as though it could have done with a lick of paint in the last 30 years. The heating was unbearably hot and, for some reason, the curtains only covered half the windows - perhaps the staff wanted us to enjoy the sunrise over the English Channel.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very comfortable and extremely well positioned to offer a lot of space.
The only thing that let it down a bit was, the room was very dated. I had a few problems with unlocking the door a few times and the bedside lamps were a bit rusty.
All of it
Steam room wasn't working
staff at reception were very welcoming
only one thing was a bit cold in room at night
Waking up to a sea view was very nice The hotel was nice enough to supply plates and cutlery for a takeaway
The hotel has quite out-dated decorative features The food and drink within the hotel was really expensive and unsatisfying There was no information about what surrounds the hotel and little was within walking distance
We liked the location on the front and walking distance to town. Friendly and courteous staff. Undergoing renovation. Good dining room, nice continental breakfast £5.each.
good amenities, walking distance to town and beach
An old much loved gorgeous hotel in a fabulous setting. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Much effort in providing good bedding and well-cleaned. New Powder Room is delightful.
The room was cold. Bathroom towel rails hardly warm. Large tears in the curtains. Difficulty getting water to run in the bath rather than the shower attachment.
THIS HOTEL IS STILL UNDER RENOVATION BUT GREATLY IMPROVED FROM OUR LAST VISIT.
Building work is still in progress however did not spoil our visit our room not included .in current works.
The staff were very friendly and very helpful.
The prices in the bar and restaurant. I have never had to pay separately for vegetables to accompany a main course. Needless to say we didn't stay for dinner.
The staff were very attentive and the value excellent, it can only get better when the old rooms are updated.
Location, facilities and attentive staff
Some areas of the hotel could do with a spruce up
We were clearly upgraded our room. Lovely sea view from two massive windows. Breakfast was lovely.
Couldn't find the pool facities easily and no staff on reception outside the gym to show us. Very expensive restaurant with not much choice so chose not to dine. Very dated rooms and dated bathroom, however im under the impression they are renovating so hopefully this will be dealt with.
hotel is very close to the beach. nice spa.
bed wasnt the best. door lock was broken
Free WiFi Ample parking Refurbished public rooms Breakfast when cooked to order
Having to log on to WiFi every device every day Breakfast when self service was not hot enough and plates were cold Bed rooms a little tired Lack of shelving in bathroom
Very helpful staff Great location
Bath leaked in to room below
