We were amazed to be given a real suite of rooms with a sitting room, dressing area, lovely bedroom and en suite, all with fabulous sea views. Excellent in every way and a reasonably priced good meal and super breakfast too! |

The room, the general ambience of the Hotel, the bar External lighting - not a big deal but could have been brighter - It would be nice if hotels such as this offered packages (similar to airport hotels) that included 15 or 7 days parking and transfers for travellers to europe using Eurostar |

I liked the attitude of the staff, the location, the general quiet atmosphere of the hotel - may have been helped by the lower occupancy at this time of the year. My room is In serious need of refurbishment as is much of the building. I hope that when this is done the character of the place, which I liked very much, is not lost. |

It is close to the sea, large gardens, adequate parking for guests. It has got various comforts one would expect from a good quality four star hotel. The lift was not working. While the room rate with breakfast were competitive, the dinner rate for a three course meal were very high. |

Very close to the beach and within walking distance of the town centre, within it own magnificant grounds Very limited, and overfussy, dinner menu. I was suprised that for a hotel of this size, the wine list was so very limited. |

This is a grand old hotel that has kept a lot of its period charm. The location on the beachfront couold not be more romantic and the spa/pool complex is a perfect retreat when the rain lashes down. |

I enjoyed the quiet and relaxing hotel environment, but it was outside peak holiday periods. The way the communications between the kitchen and service staff was very poor and rather outdated. To hear the chef shouting "service" for the attention of waiter/service staff in the restaurant was continuous and rather "Faulty Towers" like - why not have a small buzzer or bell as used elsewhere? Also waiter/service staff entering kitchen doors and shouting to the chef or other kitchen staff with the door still open, but why shout?? - rather unprofessional in a nice quiet restaurant!! |

The reception staff were extremely helpful and the room was very comfortable The bunk beds were somewhat dangerous and my daughter hit her head on the wooden frame. The food in the bar was horrendous. The order was wrong, we were told that some of the food had been dropped on the floor so we never recieved it and some of the food was merely re fried. We never recieved an proper apology or money off the bill although admittedly we didn't ask.It was a shame because otherwise we would have been very happy to recommend the hotel- especially given the helpfulness of the recpetion staff and the rooms. |

The hotel was ideal for us travellling with our two dogs. We were very impressed with the full breakfast, included in our room rate, particularly the freshly squeezed orange juice. The room was very warm, even with the windows open, perhaps indicating a lack of insulation. |

The breakfast waiting staff were efficient and smiling! A welcome change. The choice of breakfast items was also good. The spa facilities were pleasant. Make sure you book any beauty treatments atleast 7 days in advance. My Indian head massage was very relaxing and the the member of staff was very polite and professional. The price of drinks in the bar was high - £10 for a beer and a glass of wine. The room, although very clean, was looking a bit tired and in need of a touch of TLC. Not sure it should be rated 4* probably more a high level 3*. |

I liked the friendliness of the staff and our lovely room, much nicer than expected, although a little shabby (the curtain linings were torn) it was large and comfortable. The spa was also a very pleasant experience. |

Excellent location, good size rooms with stunning views, a lot of character and must have been a luxury hotel in its day. Good to have a pool, gym and spa room, and to be able to use the golf course. Staff very friendly. Sadly the hotel is extremely understaffed, so that cleaning and restaurant service is slipshod - not the fault of the staff themselves who were very friendly and helpful. The windows were filthy, curtain linings in tatters, and we only had winter duvets with no sheets. Not enough lounge and bar space for a hotel this size. |
