Friendly staff, good location, great value for money, sunny and comfortable room The lift needs replacing - it creaked to much that I was frightened to use it and was also extremely slow.

The efficiency and helpfulness of the staff, the location of the hotel and its old-world atmosphere The only minor drawback were the whims of water taps - the hot water tap in the bath tub got stuck one evening and would not turn on and the other night would not turn off. I had to call the reception to send up somone to turn off the hot water which they very kindly did. Otherwise everything was O.K.

Bed was comfortable. Clean bathroom. Friendly staff. The quality of the room was in no way represented by the photos on the website. The photos show spacious, light rooms with a large bed and lots of room. In fact it was an attic room with a sloping ceiling across the room, noisy, creaky floors in the corridor to keep me awake when people passed. A definate smell of smoking and a poor view of the back streets. This was despite my selecting the most expensive double available at the time. The TV remote didn't work. The Internet (£5 extra) doesn't allow VPN connection for work.

The prices are competitive most of the time, but the facilities are quite basic so the price is realistic. But this is good. However it is clean and it caters for what I need. I visit Brighton frequently to visit family and friends. The staff are helpful and friendly. I object to paying £4 for an internet connection. This is very steep and the connection never works. At Christmas last minute we were moved without notice to another hotel in the chain and this was very inconvenient as we only stay at Imperial because it is so close to my brother's house. The extra fifteen minute walk, every time we needed to pop back to the hotel was very annoying and we got no upgrade or compensation nor even an apology.

Friendly and easy access to the beach and entertainment my daughter was doing the marathon which was a bit of a walk to the start but not too bad Parking wasn't brilliant but we were lucky to find a space outside the hotel which cost us £20 for the two nights but compared with the ncp £75 I thin we had a bargain

I used the hotel as I was running the Brighton Marathon. The staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable and large. I was rather anxious as the reviews for the hotel were not great, but the stay was fine apart from the outrageous price of the room!! The price was more than double the usual rate on the Brighton Marathon Saturday. This was really mean as most runners are doing this challenge for charity and and to profit from this seems very cynical indeed. £130 for a hotel of this quality was, frankly, a complete rip-off and blatant profiteering!!
