The reception staff were pleasant. The room was foul. The bathroom a disgrace; the carpet dirty; stains on the ceiling and the common parts had frayed carpet and were smelly.

I liked the age of the Imperial Hotel it was full of character. Didn't like the age of the beds or the lack of sound proofing. Could hear people coming and going all night.

Easy to find plenty of shops around room was tidy and nice and warm. Nice curry house at the top of the road plenty of parking all be it a pain having to move the car before 9am. All in all a good one night stay location. Hotel bar was very expensive. Some of the staff were a bit blunt with answers. Could do with a lick of paint. That would make it a more desirable place to stay for longer period of time.

Comfy bed, quite good value for money and really good that you can book for one night only - big plus point for Brighton hotels and would stay again for that reason. No toothpaste in the room and the shampoo/soap, etc could have been a bit less "budget"! (Bottles rather than sachets would have been better but not a huge deal!). Ideally a bit closer to town but it's a nice walk and near the sea.

It was as we expected, a decent room to sleep at night after a long days shopping and exploring. I did feel that the room was over priced for the facilities and location, I also found the room too hot to sleep in without opening a window.

Very friendly and helpful staff and a great location. Clean room etc but the hotel is in need of a total refit and was a bit tatty. For the price, I would have expected better. Food was ok - nothing to write home about. Would not recommend purely on the basis that, for the money, I would have expected more.

Location in the summer months would be excellent for anyone! Staff were wonderful. Very polite and eager to help. I would recommend this hotel for that alone!!! The cleaner was also very polite and very sweet. Owner of hotel needs to consider painting damp patches on ceilings and regrouting bathroom tiles.!!! Also the showerhead/pressure was dreadfull and trickled out!!!! So the owner needs to spend some money on decor.

Really helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. Sea view. Horrendous music in the bar (if we had wanted to listen to house music, we'd have gone round the corner to the pub) meaning we spent ny eve at midnight in our room when we would far rather have been downstairs.

The staff were friendly and helpful. I wasn't impressed with the noise coming from the rooms next to mine on both sides. I could pretty much hear their conversations and it disturbed my sleep. The TV in the room also didn't have a functioning remote control.

The full english breakfast was very good The receptionist was reluctant to help when I asked him to explain a second time about the parking arrangements and also said he couldn't fill out the scratch card for the parking for me as he had been blamed by previous guests when they received a parking ticket. When i made a mistake on the scratch card he actually told me off for doing it wrong and then I had to purchase a second one.I came down for the evening meal at 7.00pm and asked the reception if they had the facility to show the football game he said yes and showed me to the Bar/ Restaurant area, I ordered a meal and drink from the bar. Whilst waiting for my meal I saw the gentleman at the next table push his plate away and have a conversation with the Barman, who offered to change the meal but his offer was refused. When my meal arrived it did not look very appetising, I tried the steak, a couple of chips and half of one of the onion rings the steak was chewy, the chips looked as if they had been re-fried and the onion rings were soggy on the outside and mushy in the inside i took the meal back to the bar and said that it was unfit to eat. As i was alone in the bar I asked for the TV to be switched over for the football only to be told that they did not have the sports channels. I left the hotel and went to a local pub for food and food. I accept that that it was a windy night but the windows in the room and bathroom were draughty and the wind blew an alarming amount of dirt through the window fan all over the bathroom. All in all not a very happy experience and should have stuick to the Premier Inn as usual

Nothing. Would not recommend this to anyone 1. the male staff was rude 2. checked in and got to the room and found it in a mess - not cleaned. went to the counter and the counter staff(male) said it was my fault for checking in early. 3. dinner - starter was very slow as only was a one man service tho it was only another couple and me at dinner 4. to pay by card i had to walk from the dining room to reception 5. the male staff had no idea how much a taxi cost to get to the railway station and asked me to walk instead. 6. too far from the lanes - better to stay at the travelodge next time

I liked the old fashioned building - lovely room with character. The temperature was just right in the room however a lot hotter around the hotel. The twin was a fair size for the uk. Staff were freindly. The breakfast was good. The location was convenient for visiting friends. Also lots of bars / restaurants / shops / beach near by. I did not like the squeaky floor boards! They woke us up in the early hours with someone walking around upstairs. I could also hear things being plugged into the wall!

The location was suitable for access to most parts of Brighton and Hove. Tv didn't work, Damp in rooms, wall paper peeling, bath shower only even though it was a bath, tea packets already opened and stale, hotel was so hot throughout it made us feel quite uneasy and difficult to sleep, no soundproofing, bed tiny etc.

The location near the beach was good, plus it was far away from the busy clubs and bars to be a quiet retreat. The room was clean and comfortable. Unforunately, there were some very noisy guest in the nearby room, plus the blinds in the bathroom gave a bit of a show to people walking down the street! Apart from that it was a pleasent stay.

The location just off the seafront is fabulous. The hotel is walking distance from the centre of Brighton for shopping and leisure but is in a very peaceful area. The staff all smiled and were very helpful during my stay. I was very grateful when the receptionist offered to call a taxi for me and did so. I really enjoyed my stay. I stayed in room 206 and had to go up and down various stairways due to the position of the room. I don't like using lifts and couldn't work out how to get downstairs without having to up first. But that fact would not stop me from staying at the Imperial again.
