First impressions were good, this is a quirky, but extremely well appointed place and the reception was very friendly. My room (3) was amazing - High beamed ceilings, steps up to a funky bathroom, massive TV, very cool decor, good coffee machine and comfy bed. The bar is great, particularly if you like Jazz, swing and cocktails - I wouldn't usually head straight for the nearest cocktail bar, but this really is a bit special, Great staff, great atmosphere, great decor and the largest / best selection of drinks you are ever likely to see. It made for a really good evening. I have stayed in the Holiday inn in Kenilworth a few times and although it is a completely different experience and The Kenilworth wouldn't be for everyone, I will definitely not be going back to the Holiday Inn which is fine but sterile in comparison.
Breakfast was very limited although what was there was good. WiFi wasn't really serviceable for me. Room was over the bar and window is on the front straight on to the road, so may be noisy at the weekend, but was fine when I was there (mid week). No net curtains, so you are either in the dark with the curtains shut or feel like you are a bit on show as it is straight onto the road and not very high. The bathroom has a great bath but only a hand held shower which wouldn't be my preference.
The friendly staff and observing the cocktails been prepared adds to the experience. This is a firm favourite of mine and would recommend an evening, at this stylish and friendly cocktail bar/hotel
It's a shame a beautiful building has such horrible deco while has already dated. The rooms could make it into 50 shades of grey?
Location, great bar,
parking, noise from the bar
The staff were so helpful and nice The room was out the back and quiet nice cocktail lounge
The breakfast was fine but would have preferred slightly healthier options
Small, quaint place in a brilliant location with friendly staff and a great cocktail bar!
Cheerful, friendly and helpful, and a delightful room. Just right!
Comfortable bed, pleasant and helpful barman, well presented bathroom/room. Small and quaint , if you don't want a large chain type hotel.
The breakfast was a poor lazy effort, on a small table in a dark corner, just an unhealthy sugar laiden display and no staff around. So breakfast for us was a banana and a cup of tea. Room overlooked by a 24 hour office opposite, privacy blinds needed for this and all rooms, as could see in when walking to car park. Traffic noise terrible. Nothing to attach shower hose to, had to hose down in bath instead of a decent shower( was told there was a shower over the bath). Stairs to/from bathroom felt unsafe,my husband was surprised they passed building regs.High ceiling but limited floor space around bed, coffee machine under stairs which was awkward to get to. I think this room was over priced taking into account all of the above.
The well appointed bedroom/suite
The decor in the cocktail bar. Black leather?
Boutique and very well done renovations. Rooms had all modern conveniences and were spotless. Great facilities.
Just note that it is a working bar (which was excellent by the way) but it's not quiet on the weekend until they closed at midnight. So be prepared to join in on the fun and have a cocktail rather than a sleep!
staff very welcoming, room comfortable
no restaurant facility and continental breakfast only with limited options
This is a great coctail bar and hotel in one It is a very unusual comination but it works perfectly The choice and quality of the coctails is incredible and the staff are extreemly knowledgeable If you want somewhere with a difference then this is it
Excellent cocktail lounge and a great barman. Lovely town to stay in with many nice restaurants close by.
The rooms are looking a little tired and could do with a coat of paint and a bit of a refresh
What a great place to say - an Education in cocktails - such nice affable staff;
Super atmosphere, staff welcoming and helpful.
Cocktail Bar - Staff were exceptionally helpful. The location was lovely - small quaint intimate Hotel.
We stayed here just the one night for our honeymoon as we only live in the next town and just wanted to get away. It was quite simply a wonderful Oasis. Very unique stylish and tasteful all with a surprising twist. late check out was good too.
Noise from the kitchens very late at night/early morning.
Rooms were clean, comfortable, extremely stylish and interesting. The whole hotel had a consistent theme. Lovely outside seating area. All in all, I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to others.
The room above had either wood or laminate flooring. The lady occupant woke early and I could hear her every movement.
The location was great for us to explore Kenelworth, Coverty and Warwickshire. Nice breakfast items included in the room price.
Hotel is in the downtown of the village and doesn't provide any views from your window. Rooms were comfortable but not decorated to our taste.
I just would have expected a bit more for the money. And the room wasn't anything like the pictures on the website but it was still okay. Was not as luxurious or stylish as I expected it to be.
The cocktails were incredible.
Friendly helpful staff, made you feel very welcome and beautifully decorated. Room was small but still comfortable.
Room was very standard, more like a B&B. Not as advertised and £95 was top price for a hotel room. Took 90 minutes to get the TV working
Beautiful rooms very clean small but purposeful
Breakfast was very poor just basic continental not what was told when booked
Friendliness of staff and quality of welcome. Bathroom decor.
Breakfast selection was a bit limited.
