We enjoyed our stay at this historic inn. Our room was large and comfortable. The location so close to Ely Cathedral was ideal for exploring this old city.

Location. Seemed ideal for those visiting the wonder of Ely cathedral No space in car park - minor prob. Radiator / room not to warm. Not big prob Room not made up correctly. Minor prob. In the morning shower cold, radiator cold. Bit bigger problem. At breakfast told to take table but not one was cleared and wiped. Small probs mounted up and I spoke to the manager. We agreed to reduce the room rate by a third but I still could not consider this good value. It is the cost it is because of where it is. With a little more effort it could be true vfm. Receptionist did her best and was helpful. Rest of staff would benefit from some training.

We came to visit Ely Cathedral and the Lamb stands almost in the shadow of the West Tower. We had a wonderful visit to the Cathedral and went up the Octagon Tower. It was worth the 300 mile round trip. The hotel was very friendly indeed, the room comfortable and the dinner very pleasant. Highly recommended.

We found the staff most helpful and polite. They treated us with respect and not just as a customer. If I need to ravel to Cambrideshire again I would certainly book the Lamb Hotel

Central position, carparking, though probably not enough we found space. Bedroom fine. Lunch ok(though it would have helped if the menu had stated that you had to go to bar to order) Nobody told us how to get in after closing time so we had to wake someone for which we were sorry.

After admiring Ely Cathedral from a distance on our train journeys we decided to have a 3 day mid-week break to explore the Magnificent Norman/Gothic Cathedral, and take in the superb stained glass permanent exhibition. Fortunately we were also just in time to view the Quaker tapestries tour event which finished on our 2nd day! We also visited Oliver Cromwell's House exhibition and viewed the very interesting video on the draining of the Ely marshes. We could not have had a better base than the Lamb Hotel with everything of interest including the riverside quay within easy walking distances as was the railway station for our journey home. The hotel served food throughout the day and was not overly expensive for a mature couple. All in all, an ideal location which suited our purpose admirably.

The hotel was very comfortable and clean and the staff very friendly parking facilities are inadequate but parking was fortunately free at Ely car parks. I would comment that although the breakfast was plentiful and varied I would have preferred it to be quicker and hotter. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.

Friendly and efficient staff. Clean and comfortable rooms with lots of hot water and a great full English breakfast. The location was spot-on, literally yards from the Cathedral and the main area for pubs and restaurants. A good value for money little hotel.

It was very central. Very close to the Cathedral, Museum and Oliver Cromwell House. The midday onwards bar meals made it easy to eat at times which fitted in with our programme. There was a good choice on the menu. My only criticism is that it was not obvious that you had to turn left when exiting the car park

Location and good quality food. Refuse bin in en-suite had not been emptied (orange peel and shower gel from previous guest) and toilet was full of someones hair which obviously meant it had not been cleaned! Otherwise, the room was clean and tidy. Noise from outside main road was still heard even though secondary glazing was fitted, not a good nights sleep - try to get a room away from the main road side.

Location - for shops and Cathedral. The receptionist was very helpful, and (the same young woman) was cheerful and helpful at breakfast on Sunday morning The bathroom was very narrow. You could have stolen a foot or two from the bedroom to make the bathroom much more comfortable.
