“The staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent. The room was spacious and comfortable. I had a really peaceful, quiet restful time. Beautiful old building. Very convenient to the town.”
Patricia,
Cowes
The Langley is a relaxed, family-run hotel, a 20-minute walk from central Tonbridge. It has a pretty secluded yard with a gazebo, a terrace for drinks and free private parking. Each bedroom has a private bathroom with bathtub or shower, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Breakfast at The Langley includes a selection of cheeses, fruits, yogurt, cereals and an English breakfast. Special diets can be catered for in advance. Tonbridge Castle and the famous Tonbridge School are passed on the way to the center of town. Tonbridge Train Station is about a 5-minute drive away. The staff is happy to book taxis upon request or to help if guests need help with their baggage. The Langley is not far from the Tonbridge-to-Penshurst off-road cycle track and Hayesden Country Park, where cyclists and walkers can enjoy the lakes and wildlife. Committed to the local community, the hotel supports the local farmers’ market, clubs, charities and the Tonbridge Half Marathon. Many staff at the hotel also take part in voluntary work on a regular basis. Hotel Rooms: 39 Most recent booking for this hotel was yesterday at 10:57 from United Kingdom.

The nicest thing about the hotel was the staff. The same person was on reception when I arrived, served my evening meal and served breakfast in the morning. She also helped me over a problem in my room. She couldn't do enough to help. The garden out the back was lovely and as the weather was nice it was possible to sit out and enjoy it. To be honest it was a little faded and lacked atmosphere but it was clean and served nice food. Not everything worked in my room but the staff moved me to a nicer room for which I was grateful.

There is nothing we liked in the hotel. We checked out earlier and booked an other hotel. Due to booking.com it was possible. At our arrival we met a staffmember who was desinterested. Our room was dirty, had only one set of pillows, one set of towels. Tv was'nt working, no cable Shower was broken. It was terrible ! Never again, stay away ! advise to booking.com: remove from your site !

The staff were helpful, friendly, responded readily to our requests to change the initial selection of room and for additional pillows. The accommodation was in clean condition, the room a good size, and the breakfast in terms of variety and quality was a lot better than most. Ideally located for us. As with a number of this level of hotel the maintenance is not of the highest order. Although there was little to spoil our time, it was clear that rooms were not checked in any detail prior to letting and minor maintenance not under control. The hand-basin was cracked, two lightbulbs not working, the radio not connected, screws loose and the waste pipes gurgling (anti-syphon traps needed or secondary venting to the soil vent pipes - we put the waste plugs in and this stopped the noise), wallpaper loose, decorations tired. It sounds really bad but it was really all minor things that an ex-builder would notice and I would take only a few hours, in the main, to put right.

We needed to be in Tonbridge first thing in the morning. This hotel was ideally placed and cheap. The staff we talked to were pleasant. Our room was a reasonable size and the beds were comfortable. The hotel could do with a bit of a spruce up. For instance - there was peeling wallpaper in our room.

Obviously in need of a re-fit but as they more than make up for it by the ridiculously cheap price they charge for the area, who can complain!

Fair hotel, cheap and cheerful, I was there on a business trip, it was cheaper then a travelodge and breakfast was included. I had a room at the front of the hotel and there was a lot of road noise early in the morning.

Friendly staff went out of their way to make my stay pleasant. My room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The shower was probably the best I had used in any hotel! The exterior had a very nice garden area that is obviously used for weddings and other functions. The location of the hotel is excellent being within easy striking distance Tonbridge town centre, but far enough out to prevent any great noise disruption. The hotel has its own car park. The general condition of the hotel was in need of updating, parts of the building could be described as shabby. Very few other guests appeared to be staying on the night that I was there. The hotel restaurant was not available for an evening meal upon my arrival making it necessary to walk up the road to a local Beefeater Inn, also I had to leave prior to breakfast due to business reasons and therefore did not sample the hotels food in any way.

The staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was fine. It was quiet enough to be able to sleep. The dining room was very cold. The tv reception was appalling. As a solo traveller the tv really needs to be in good working order! They boast that the hotel has sky tv, but fail to mention that they only have sky news and the four terrestrial stations had such poor reception that they were unwatchable.

The price was right but there wasn't much more to shout about. Breakfast was solid and crucially included in cheap deal. Just a bit old and rickety. Staff while not atrocious didn't seem very interested or competent. Our first room we were allocated (#14) was a twin when we had requested a double, and wallpaper was hanging off the wall in great sheets. Decor very outdated and tawdry looking. Tiny TV that won't survive the digital switchover, poorly cleaned etc etc. Our second room (#24) (after long wait at reception unattended) was better kept - apart from some very old looking cobwebs - but no better appointed. Drab and uninspiring, and with a strange tap-to-shower-head affair that inexplicably refused to blend hot and cold water. Cold tap = freezing, but engage the hot tap at all and it would only run blindingly hot. After around 15mins wasted when trying to get ready to leave the winning ratio of about 1 part hot : 64 parts cold seemed to hold at lukewarm. Incidentally we had wanted to have dinner at the hotel but it was not offered as an event had taken up the dining room; our money went to a pizza place instead. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise to quell our apprehension, hot where required and chilled where not; and plentiful. Pity we ate on our own and unattended! Very happy with the cheap price but with so many apparently long-standing failings i cannot say it was value for money. Cheap and cheerless possibly.

Has a solo traveller I felt safe and was made very welcome I'm sorry I am unable to remember the lady name on reception, she always makes me feel comfortable and welcoming, she understand my visit, she also works in the resturant at breakfast time and again very pleasant, I will always choose The Langley Hotel over all the local hotel for the excellant value, comfort, safety and good fresh cooked breakfast............Thank you

Location and price Bathroom Bed 3 needs attention, grouting disgusting, towels old and worn. Pillows old and cheap, pillowcases didn't look as if they had been changed - creased and thin. Needed hoovering. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cigarette butts overflowing as you walk in the hotel from the bin outside. Needs updating badly could be a really nice hotel and compete with Travelodge for its location. Breakfast good. OK for one night but wouldn't stay longer.
