I liked the closeness to the Ferry, the free car park, the peace and quiet so you could have a good nights sleep and the breakfast. I objected to the pub closing at 10.20pm without the staff asking if we would like another drink. The only thing we were asked was if we would like our bill!!! The last orders for evening meal was 9pm which is a little early if you are arriving from Calais. |

Good location at the top of cliffs. The bar staff were good and it had a nice atmosphere. Choice of well-kept real ales was a big plus. This place has potential for business to build and I hope the new owners make it happen by addressing the shortcomings. Service at breakfast was offhand: There was no-one there when we came down and there was no menu. There was a long wait before anyone came and took our order and another long wait before the food arrived. Somewhat lower quantity than an average B&B. No salt & pepper on the table, ran out of bread on the cereal table, so no toast. No one around after the food was served to check on things or to enable us to ask for these or more coffee. Poor value for the additional breakfast charge. We saw no-one again (except for a cleaner when we left our key to check out). |

The staff were very accommodating as we arrived mid evening when our children were ready for bed so they agreed to provide sandwiches for our room, which were excellent quality. We also had an issue with our vehicle the following day but the hotel staff were quite happy for us to stay longer than the 10.30am check out. It wasn't a great issue and we understand because of the downturn in the economy that staffing is probably reduced, however, service at breakfast was a bit slow and during the evening the barman appeared to be doing everything and was therefore rushed off his feet. |

The location was spectacular with wonderful views over the sea and the white cliffs. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The room was very basic, not very clean and in dire need of attention, particularly to the furniture which was very old and tired. I did not feel the room rate was value for money however the hotel bar was very clean and comfortable. I would not recommend this hotel although the location was excellent which, in my view, was its only saving grace. |

The location is quite nice and the restaurant staff is very friendly. The comfort in the rooms is mere standard, the matresses are really through. |

We paid extra for breakfast, but when when we arrived at the dining roomt at the agreed time of 7.30 A.M. it was not open. We searched the whole hotel for a member of staff, but could find no-one, and had to leave at 7.45 A.M. without having our breakfast. We have tried to phone the hotel without success, and they have also not replied to our emails. |

Quiet and friendly staff The food, was superb a year ago when we stayed there. This time the chef used too much pepper in a ..... salad!!! And food! I had an allergie, and today still there. But next time I will ask about dressing before to order. Is a lovely hotel and we used many times, we will stay again in the Lighthouse! Is clean and friendly and so useful when you come from/ to the continent. |
