The room was spotless it was a big room, very comfortable bed. Very nice extras with the tea/coffee such as orange juice, horlicks and hot choc drinks. Lots of tea and coffee sachets, much more than I've ever had supplied before. Tv had a DVD option something else I've not had in a hotel room before. Room was very cold as the central heating didn't work, an electric heater was supplied but was far too small for such a big room. Also I did not like the furniture at all the " four poster bed " was held together with selotape in parts. Very odd. And I wouldn't like to stay in the chalets in the car park.

Located close to the town. Seemed comfy and clean. Sadly, I checked in very late and no saff on duty, key and note left on reception desk for me. Could not access the wifi in the room as no details on the pin etc given. That was a problem. The breakfast I booked was no good as in left the hotel at 7.15am and breakfast starts at 08.30!

Convenient, clean, more traditional, large single room. Excellent selection of room refreshments. No offer of help with luggage. Car park untidy. Bar prices very high.

Ideal location for our mini-break being near to the town centre yet close enough for easy access into the Cotswold area also. The staff were very pleasant, the food was very good and the four poster bed very comfortable. There is a very extensive menu normally available including a wide variety of Pizzas, low priced bar meals right through to huge steaks with an emphasis on high quality. Our stay coincided with the manager having to go into hospital for a major operation which we were unaware of before arrival. This had a serious impact on the food available with only a limited menu on our second night. That said, our choice of steaks was made available by prior arrrangement on the first night and were excellent but without the sauces that we wanted.

The room was spacious, clean and tea and coffee provided in abundance. The window sill paint which stank the room out. Very hard to get the smell of fresh paint out but it really did stink.

The staff at the Lismore were lovely. Our room was spacious and had little extras not found elsewhere. Its not a modern hotel but it had character and was good value for money. Breakfast was everything I would expect including a fry up cooked just right. When busy, there is not enough room in the dining room or Lounge area.

Very friendly staff, good location, and excellent price. Beautiful homely building and nice clean rooms. I found the car park a little difficult to locate (around the back - better to get directions to it from hotel before arriving), but I did arrive when it was dark, so may just be me. Room was a little cold during the night, but even so would still stay here again.

The location was convenient and there was a car park. There were plenty of beverages in the room and hairdryer, iron and board. Bathroom had a good supply of everything needed. The room was minute and bed uncomfortable.. The breakfast was OK but not enough of the cooked full breakfast.

Hot breakfast. I did not like the room. It was an described as outside chalet. It was more like a converted garage. Very small. I have stayed at the hotel a number of times, the main building is very nice to stay in,it is just the outside buildings that I have a problem with.

We were expecting a twin bedded room within the main hotel but we were given a chalet. The room including the bathroom was clean and the facities quite good. However the main heating was not on and on entering the room there was a musty smell. The evening/night was quite cold and we had to make do with an electric oil filled radiator. The hotel was handy for Banbury town and our family that we were visiting. Overall impressions was fair but nothing exciting. The interior of the main building was very Victoria and impressive. Cold chalet room with a musty smell. No central heating on and the room needed a good airing.

Hotel was very tired looking, there were some workmen working nights on the railways staying in the hotel, and were in the restaurant in there dirty overalls, poor choice of breakfast selection, but the location was good. No staff when we first arrived, but the hotel was wide open!thick dust on the skirting board in the restaurant, Carpet in the bedroom was badly stained, needs some time spent tidying the hotel up.

The bed and wifi. I didnt enjoy the attitude of the owner of the hotel, he was very rude and not very helpful. I had my vehicle damaged in the hotel carpark and was obstructive in trying to help with the discovery in who had done the damage. The police had to persue him in the end for it and putting off the witness. I really would not like to recommend anyone to stay there unless you really have no place else to go. There was dirt, mould and some pink type of stuff around the edge of the bath handle and in a lot of the grouting. I received an electric shock off of a kettle lead that i have been told has a sub-standard plug on, despite it being tested by a surposedly trained professional.

The sofa chairs were comfortable. The room was spacious. Nice shopping centre and you could also enjoy a game of bowling. Shower is fantastic. The decoration of the room, needs a facelift. Yes they are trying to keep it victorian, but still a good touch of paint and brightness would make a guest feel even more comfortable. The breakfast could be more of choice for the value price that you pay, which is not included in your overnight stay. Also the amount that is served could be sufficient enough. When you first go into the hotel the lighting is very dreary, and this could be more brighter.
