Score from 321 reviews Very good
Originally a 15th-century traveler's inn, this refurbished hotel offers a relaxing home away from home in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds.
Score from 600 reviews Good
very little. Room got warmer when heater came on but was supplemented by a portable electric radiator with wonky wheels.
No wardrobe; freezing cold room when arrived; uncomfortable bed (four poster) mould on windows in bathroom; cigarette end and ash in top drawer of unit alongside bed
Most of it looked nice from out side chalet room
The owner was very kind and let me keep my car parked even though I had checked out. So near the hospital so perfect for visiting people.
The room had character with beams showing, the shower was nice and hot, the bed was harder than I usually go for but comfortable nonetheless and plenty of hot drinks to choose from! Good options for breakfast and the full English was cooked well. Overall it was good for a one-night stay, however I'd probably go for more stars if staying somewhere for longer.
Could hear some lorries on the road early in the morning (can't be helped), and I have to admit that the paper bath mat seemed unnecessary.
Challet was very good that I would use again.
the location, and pretty much that's it..
not very clean, the room stinks
Good environment. Will be back
That the room was not check before hand since it was a reservation.
Staff Location to the town centre very good
The price No breakfast in with the high price
Great period property, has what you need for a good overnight stay, well priced compared to others un town.
The bed was very comfortable.
The 'chalet' was nothing like the photo on their website - it was small, dark, cramped and not very clean. As soon as you walked into the room you were virtually in bed! There was a paper bathmat in the bathroom - a thing that I've never seen before & totally unfit for purpose. There was also something amiss with the proportions of the sink in the bathroom, too low I think, I kept hitting my head against the glass shelf. Parking is impossible & the location of the parking lot is hard to find and difficult to navigate. I didn't find the staff friendly or helpful and the breakfast was terrible. I asked for brown bread and got bacon! I would say avoid at all costs!
Hotel owner was very polite and friendly. Great location 10 min walk to town centre. Room was clean and tidy
Breafast was swimming in grease... really not worth paying the extra for it.
10 minute walk to town centre, so no parking costs. Despite being near a main road our room was quiet. Breakfast was good. Pleasant bar.
2 of the electricity sockets in the room did not work. Mattress will need replacing very soon as it was a bit "roll to the middle".
The bed was pretty comfortable
We were in a chalet room, which was tiny, about 2 feet around the side of a small double bed. The bathroom was also tiny, had to 'side saddle' the toilet and the shower was either scalding or freezing.
A whip and tie up
The headache after the chloroform
It was dirty in the room ,restaurant . There was someone shouting for an hour and a half in the middle of the night. The breakfast was inedible. The room was so dirty there was things left in bedside cupboard. Disgusting
The room was on the ground floor
Room could do with updating. Kettle was on dresser but no plug nearby so had to unplug bedside lamp and put it there. And there was no coffee, only tea and hot chocolate
The fact that there was no evening meal available
Linen was clean. Location good for us.
A bit neglected all over.
It was close to my clients house & I was able to check in really early in the morning.
Breakfast closed too early.
Main building has some grand features. Annex rooms crisp and modern. Hard working staff. Solid breakfasts.
Sat. nav. does not deliver you to front door, and will struggle to find vehicle access. Take a look at aerial photographs to work it out - pretty easy really.
We booked a chalet room and liked the fact that we could walk straight from the car park to our room without going into the hotel.
The room was small but it was adequate for one night.
Room was damp and smelt of mildew Room 51. Very small and uncomfortable double bed. Shower Luke warm. Breakfast was badly organised and under staffed and waitress did not speak a word of English. We had to ask very young waiter to be served. Faulty Towers comes to mind!
Clean and comfortable
Nice medium sized room and clean bathroom.
Abit expensive but not much cheaper available. Was not shown room (abit impersonal customer service).
