When paying for a service you expect to be treated well. On the second morning, we had just missed breakfast. I asked was there a chance of getting just 3 croissants and I was told no. It was 11am and breakfast was finished a half an hour previous. But really - 3 croissants? We obviously did not want them for free, just something to have before we left in the morning. I just thought it was sort of petty since we forked out £180 to stay there.

Breakfast very good, staff excellent, massive room....parking on the premises....very nice....!!! location very very poor. it's neither in the city nor in the cardiff bay area. walking to either of the places was really really scary. Had to cancel walking due to very worst pedestrian walking way I have ever come across. Bear in mind, I had two young boys aged 6 and 3....no crossing place, no lights, no pedestrian walk.....!!! It was really scary......!!!

Difficult to locate if arriving in city for first time.details pinpointing site to the specific island and the road to the hotel is located on an access lane to a duel carriage road would have been helpful

Staying with my daughter mid-week we found this to be the quiet and comfortable overnight stop we needed. The room was large and airy with two double beds, with a modern and very clean bathroom. We felt able to arrive when we wanted and the later departure time than some places offer is helpful, so as to feel no rush to get out. One of the beds did have a dip in the middle.

The room was clean and of a good size, the staff were very helpful and friendly when we asked for extra things, it didnt seem a problem to them. Lots of choice for breakfast and for only £5. it was fab. And it was great that we didnt have to be out of our room till 12pm so it didnt feel rushed. The bed was very comfortable and we had a really good nights sleep.

The room facilities were poor and only enough tea/coffee for one drink per person. The breakfast was cr#p bacon beans and 1/2 hour wait for scrambled egg ( that did not turn up) no tomatoes sausage hash browns black pudding that other Mercure hotels have , Rice crispies or weetabix was on offer only. All in all we have used Mercure hotels before and this was the worst one that I have ever stayed in, Staff paid lip service only but did not do anything else. I will never use this hotel again.

Conveniently placed for access to Cardiff City Centre by bus or taxi and also to Cardiff Bay. Both are around a 15 minute walk from the hotel, but the walk is pleasant and easy enough. Taxi's are between £4-£5 to city and bay. Staff were super efficient and friendly and rooms lovely and clean. Got upgraded to twin double beds on arrival which was lovely! You get what you pay for in hotels and for a convenient, cheap stay, this is fab. Would recommend and book again

I liked the cheap car park and the Christmas tree in the lobby. Smooth check in and out. The room was spacious. I rang reception to bring mugs and glasses to the room as there were none. I was told to "come down and get them myself" The bathroom had no shower curtain and the bath was taken up with a long bar which made it extremely narrow. The beds were awfully squeaky, which was embarrassing. The door was very thin and there were very loud guests coming and going in the corridor all through the night. The next room was having a party all night and into the morning at 8am.,also which was soo loud. At this point we wre past exhausted as we had been up all night. We heard a guest or hotel staff confront them but they were so rowdy and didn't calm down. We checked out very early on no sleep having to face a long drive home. It was a shame as we usually Enjoy all our trips. Definitely feel let down.
