I arrived late at night to find the room had not been cleaned - used towel screwed up on the floor, bin full of rubbish from previous occupant, used coffee mugs half full of cold coffee. Clearly the room was as the previous occupant had left it !!!!
Took the offer of an upgrade to an executive room to find that this wasn't in the hotel but a house nearby. Swapped to the main hotel. Decor dated. Phone not working. Wifi poor, I had to call the hotel from my mobile to get the wifi access.
Good sized towels in the bathroom WiFi access Bed was comfortable
walk in wardrobe- you'd have to be three foot tall No mirror in the bedroom. Unable to stand upright in the majority of the room - I'm five four. On a main road and next to railway No drawer storage space
The room was spacious & the bed was extremely comfortable
The lady behind the bar was very apologetic for having no draught beer and a poor selection left on the menu and it was her sense of humour that got me through the ordeal of staying at the Manor Hotel.
Absolute nightmare with card reader, didn't work full stop. All draught beer off, and took three attempts to find a choice on the menu that they hadn't run out of. TV didn't work in room, toilet seat was broken and the hotel was full so I couldn't be allocated another room. Felt deceived by the photographs that depicted this hotel in it's fine glory. Needs a cash injection and some TLC to bring this hotel into the 21st Century. My room 333 was depicted as a petite double. There is no way that two people would have been comfortable in this room. An awful experience that I don't recommend.
The gigantic onion rings from the restaurant. The smoked salmon pasta was delicious too. The fact that the train station was around the corner made it very convenient to either travelling into Windsor or London Waterloo.
Wifi was poor. Walls were very thin. Cleaners were pretty noisy in the morning. The online and outside menu for the restaurant differed from the one inside.
Staff on reception late shift speaking on phone very loud
The breakfast was good and had a variety of food
The fact that there was a wedding on that day I thought you should have told me as we could have used the bar and resturant also we couldn't get in our room as the swipe system was down so as the wedding was on the facilities were found wanting
Proximity to location I was working
Bin not emptied No hot water anywhere in the hotel Poor parking arrangements
The Food in the evening and breakfast was good. Car parking good. Hotel had a good feel to it, but let down by staff.
However no one came and asked good or not and at breakfast I ordered Poached eggs, sausage and black pudding all cooked well, but was not offered any toast or again no one came and asked. The room was a on the street corner and was noisy all night the walls are thin and I could hear next door occupant snoring all night so he had a good sleep I didn't. No one asked how my stay was!!
Torn and filthy net curtains. Curtains falling down. Archaic television Stained carpet Overpriced restaurant £7 for a cold and very average glass of red. Cold bar Staff member pleading with me to complain to the owner ! But without fail after every complaint and without any commitment to resolve it I was asked through fixed smile to "have a nice day" Thank you America.
The fact that despite booking the luxury exec room they tried to put us in a box room that was barely (and I mean barely) big enough to take the double bed. When we went back and said, "no way", it was of course a mistake. Being put into an annexe instead of the hotel I booked. So instead of a 200+ year old hotel I got a 1980 duplex on the other side of the tracks, (literally!). Bland decor of the 1980's room. Key systems that wouldn't work, meaning you had to make multiple trips back across the railway tracks to the main hotel in the rain. The noise from the jets overhead all day and night and the noise from the trains at night. It tends to be that booking a hotel through booking.com that you always get a fobbed of with a rubbish room.
Only one station away from Windsor, good location with a lovely Italian restaurant in the village, which is definitely worth a visit.
The location was great especially as we were going to twickenham and was only a short train ride from there.
The room wasn't at all what I expected and we were in a cottage next to the main building. The rooms would have be suitable for children but not adults.
Hotel didn't provide soya milk.
The hotel was in a nice little village. We were visiting legoland and the hotel was just 3 miles from the resort.
The room was ok it wasn't 4* standard. The room smelt of damp and wasn't cleaned to a high standard it was ok for one night stay.
Location to airport Ease of access to hotel Attempt to extend hotel with annex Potential to improve into an interesting boutique hotel.
Having stayed at hotel many times in the distant past we looked forward to an evening before flying out. Absolutely stunned at how the hotel has deteriorated. Staff at reception helpful but inside appeared to have no idea what was happening. Menus outside and inside completely different and no explanation. Draught beer not operating. Food was poor and breakfast quite disgraceful in a very Spartan dining room. Bar and dining service below acceptable. Hotel facilities below average. And now the room. Great potential and good location and layout however musty from recent floods, non working heater, towel rail, bathroom sink and desk light. I could prepare a defects list which the owners would not be proud of. This hotel used to have (in the past) charm, great food and service but now I am surprised they have a licence to operate.
Accommodation was comfortable and pleasant
breakfast was not so good and at £9.95 rather expensive
Hotel is charming and each room has unique feel. Bar/restaurant and plenty of sit down and relax corners with comfy armchairs makes you feel relaxed and is very inviting. Breakfast was made to order and morning menu has some interesting selection. Staff have been helpful and welcoming
That our stay was so short:). On a serious note some of the bedrooms can be very very little.
Comfortable. cosy and friendly, excellent location for my business needs
Restruant menu was a little fussy and tired but food offered was tasty and adequate.
Very comfortable bed.
Room too small and bathroom needed updating.
I stayed at the Hotel as part of a wedding group. The food - including breakfast - was very good, with good portions. Waiting staff in the restaurant are excellent: nothing was too much trouble. Apart from disabled access, it was good value for money.
I booked the 4 rooms in "The Cottage" - an annexe to the Hotel - as I needed a room for a wheelchair user and I was told there was 1 disabled room in the hotel, located in the Cottage. However, access into the disabled room is over a step to get into the Cottage, and I was not able to swivel the wheelchair in the passageway to turn it into the room. The bathroom was accessed over a ledge, and there were no handrails etc for the toilet. I do not consider this to be a disabled room - if you are booking as such, be aware.
not being able enter my room for 3 hours due to door lock not working luckly I feft my room window open allowing the staff member to enter the room well done staff
Some staff were pleasant Breakfast
Not enough parking Fittings were old and dated Some staff were rude
