“Comfortable, on the sea front. We had a sea view room. It was our wedding anniversary and we like Whitstable because we can walk along the sea front and also visit the fish market and harbour. We had our evening meal in the hotel which was very nice. Our breakfast the next morning was very good.”

The staff were excellent, very helpul and friendly. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. When we booked in we thought, what a tacky looking reception, wonder what the rest of the hotel is like. Our thoughts were confirmed, it was very tacky looking, although clean.

The location is excellent and the staff were always very cheerful and helpful ..even the cleaners stopped to talk and advise us where to go for a day out. The hotel was cosy and warm and although we did not have dinner in the restaurant, the breakfast we had in there was great and so nice to sit there and look out at the sea ... fantastic view. The walk from the hotel down to the seafront and towards the harbour is really pleasant and it then leads you into the heart of Whitstable, which is very quaint and has lots of nice cafes and restaurants. The windows are not double glazed so noise from people standing outside having a drink on the terrace and chatting was an issue for me but they are being replaced so that should be sorted out soon. Also music from a wedding reception could be heard from my room until midnight but again the refurbished rooms are having some sound proofing. I stayed in an attic room, which was a really good size, it was a really pleasant room, although the bathroom was in need of an upgrade but I guess when all the rooms are upgraded this will be addressed.

The location is ideal; right on the sea front, and our room had a beautiful sea view. All the staff were warm and friendly, but respectful; they took trouble to anticipate our needs. We appreciated the extra touches (collapsible ironing board, delivery of newspapers...). We had two very good meals in the restaurant - a very pleasant experience. The beer in the bar was good, too. We could have done with two chairs in our double bedroom. The stairs were very uneven and tricky to negotiate after an evening in the bar! (These are very minor quibbles.)

Friendly staff including the cleaners, restaurant staff, bar staff, etc. Close to the beach anda pleasant walk to Whitstable. Good restaurant for diner and breakfast. My children enjoyed it. Our room needed some decoration, especially the bathroom.(Rm14). However, it was comfortable.

Friendly courteous staff and close to the Oyster House restaurant - the sole reason for staying over in Whitstable for the night The Marine is desperately in need of modernisation and redecoration along with re-modelling of en-suites to better plan the space you have

The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff are very helpful and friendly. It is undergoing some much needed refurbishment as the hotel and rooms were looking pretty shabby in parts. The english breakfast wasn't very good, undercooked, greasy and the sausage was very poor quality. However, the staff were friendly and helpful and the service was very good. It put us off eating in the hotel that evening.

Pleasant sea view in a rather tired looking room. We understand however that all the bedrooms are being refurbished. On the Friday night they had a disco going on in the ground floor room next to the restaurant. This could be heard all over the Hotel including our bedroom which was top floor at the front!! Not a good idea for residents at the time.

The location was perfect for us with an easy coastal walk into Whitstable. Views out to sea over breakfast were excellent. The staff tried very hard to make us feel welcome. The hot water was only just warm in our room but the hotel is being improved and I am sure this was only a temporary problem.

Bang in the middle of an interesting revitalised Whitstable. Lovely views.Hotel Manager was one of the best we have encountered, he was knowledgeable and unflappable and seemed genuinely interested in helping us. Robert Grey. It needs renovating, which is exactly what's happened! So next month it will be great!.

The Breakfast was excellent, with a choice of two fish dishes. We were lucky enough to stay in a recently refurbished room, which was to a very high standard. Location is perfect if you like walking, also only a short walk to very interesting shops in Whitstable. Whitstable has a lot of restaurants to suit all tastes & budgets. Overall we had an excellent stay and would lile to returnlater in the year. The first room we were shown was advertsed as recently refurbished, this wasnt the case and was quite obvious, however this was quickly resolved by the reception staff

Beautiful location overlooking the beach/sea Room was slightly tatty with dirty marks on the wall. The TV didn't work and the air conditioning unit had a mind of its own. Breakfast and the ambience over breakfast however, was fantastic.
