We had a twin room with balcony. Nicely decorated light and airy. Bright white linen, comfy beds. Great view to the sea.
The bathroom was a little disappointing as the shower was incorporated within the bath. No big deal though !
The entire experience of The Marine was perfect! The hotel itself is at a great location along the beach line, with a quaint town just behind it. There is a larger shopping area just down the road with more restaurants. It did lot take long to reach the hotel from Dover or from London. The rooms were excellently decorated and clean, wifi was excellent and the included breakfast is just amazing.
There was nothing about this hotel I disliked.
Location - good size rooms - cleanliness - evening meal in bar was very good and staff very helpful.
Breakfast the food was excellent but let down by very long wait when ordering the food and again a long wait for it to arrive, not enough staff on duty, all in all we had to wait nearly one hour.
Location was fab as were the rooms good value for money
Bar menu very limited should have more lite bites /sharing platters etc Breakfast team very nice but would hVe liked more fresh fruit choice etc
The revamp since we last visited was very much in evidence making the hotel look brighter and cleaner. Nice touch with the fresh milk. Very clean comfortable room and excellent breakfast.
Shower nearly flooded the bathroom when first turned on and the head fell off its holder when turning it off and could easily have caused injury. Suggest it be replaced with a fixed head pointing vertically down.
the ease of getting into Whitstable and the excellent fish that we had there in 'Crab and Winkle' and the 'Oyster Co'
At time of visit I was lame and the lift was not suitable
Easily the best hotel in Whitstable. Modernised to a high standard.
The reception was more than welcome - even though I was just staying a night. Very professional staff always with a smile. Our room (number 1), even though not sea view, was so inviting and so well thought out that we wanted to stay in and enjoy it's atmosphere! It's position in Whitstable couldn't be better. Generally an excellent hotel worth a stay!
All was perfect
We did not use any of the facilities in the hotel
good nights sleep location good for my business call in the area
Room 34,fittings falling off shower door shower outlet blocked so only a very quick shower possible to avoid flooding. Tuna Steak was not good, dry and tough
comfortable bed, pleasant staff
a little distance from the town centre
could not fault anything staff helpful in everything dinner on thurs wonderfull
For the "weekender" the marine offers it all. Good food, wine, location and comfort. The place has style as shown by the number of non residents it attracts to it bars and restaurant. Booking early is a must as the marine is so popular.
Being kept awake half the night by noisy neighbours in the next room !
Lack of hair dryer
Noisy children in the breakfast room
Location, sea view room with balcony, very good food, lovely and clean.
Couldn't get internet even with code.
Staff were very helpful from the very beginning. Room was one of the best that we've stayed in. Great views from our room. Bar staff were very friendly and were very helpful. Restaurant food was great. One of the nicest meals we've had at a fair price. Will tell family and friends it's a great hotel with in a hour of London
Car park to rear not great . The road to the car park had large pot holes, and car park had not to many spaces.
Most of it - staff very friendly, room light and well decorated, good location and position ( hope this is 200 characters)
No full length mirror in room; shower screen not able to prevent water getting on floor ( even after obeying instructions!)
Decoration and food.
Slopping roof in the bedroom.
The location next to the seafront was fantastic. Staff were cheery and helpful, particularly housekeeping. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was spotless and spacious.
the view and breakfast
bathroom would require painting
The staff were welcoming. The meals we had there were good and well presented. A very quiet relaxing location on the sea front
The arrival of the dust cart at 5.15am emptying and crushing loads for about 10 minutes. The stairs were quite difficult, would ensure I was not on the top floor if I went again. Discovered there was a lift to the first floor the night before we left.
The room was comfortable and large. Air con that worked. Lovely bathroom with all the little extras. Lovely decor, seaside but in a well thought out way, very light and airy. Staff, bar none were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Bar was well-stocked and coffees were good. But...the breakfast. I've travelled and stayed in some of the best hotels, the breakfast was superb and the service was great. Views from the bar terrace are what we came to Whitstable/Tankerton for, one of of favourite romantic locations. Didn't try the restaurant, but they held a wedding function during our stay and we never felt that we were not as important to the staff. Will be staying again and recommending to our friends.
We saw one wasp (outdoors)...Not their fault lol, otherwise the staff and owners have done a superb job!
First up, the staff were lovely, in particular our waiter in the orangery on the Saturday evening who offered fab tips on the bike rides along the coast, and our waitress in the bar restaurant on Sunday afternoon who, despite only just returning from holidays, was delightfuly friendly and chipper. Tying on second was the comfyness of the rooms and the deliciousness of the breakfast. Was so nice to see the quality and attention to detail throughout the experience. I will definitely stay here again if in Whitstable.
Whilst exceptionally minor, the bar team need to reconsider the how to serve the Bloody Mary cocktails... We had 4 very well mixed spicy BMs but on all occasions the contents only filled half the tumbler. Either move to a short glass or fill the tomato juice to the top of the tumbler - it just looks cheap otherwise.
