The room was comfortable and warm. The bathroom was clean and well serviced. The TV worked which is not always the case in some hotels. It was pleasantly quiet. The menu choices for the evening meal was disappointing as the vegetarian option was limited and to inlcude vegetables (potatoes) cooked in goose fat as part of hte meal was thoughtless. It would be pleasing to see an innovative vegetarian option with a rangeof vegetables including roast potatoes not cooked in meat fat. Is it that Best Western don't see the need to cater for vegetarians - some hotel chain needs to take the lead on this as word spreads as to good vegetarian options that have been considered with as much effort as the meat options. This includes the bar snacks where the only meal option was a salad - in winter??? |

ease acces by car, free parking, quiet surroundings. Very dusty room (I know, because I react to it as I am allergic for dust). And an extremely disapointing Spa. Actually there was no SPA. It was swimming pool with one very small Sauna cabine and Turkish Steam cabine that wasn't even working. We chose this Hotel for the SPA facilities. Bad Luck. |

I was initially greeted by a male member of staff behind the reception desk who kept sniffing loudly. It would have been better if someone else served me whilst he blew his nose. The bar staff were clearly not used to serving several people in one evening. It took over 10 minutes to serve me a beverage. Whilst there were two staff behind the bar, I still do not understand why they felt it was more efficient to serve one customer between them rather than individually serve. |

To be kept awake most of the night by peaple shouting & swearing right out side our door, it was around 4.30am before we could go to sleep. I did phone down to reception to alert them of the situation by no one answered. It was a weekend break ruined. We were given a discount on our account but what we wanted was a peaceful wekend . |

i am a disabled person and i expressly requested a room closer to the reception area, i said please do not put me in a room at the end of a long corridor when booking 6 weeks in advance. they did exactly that. i had to walk a long way which caused me discomfort and pain, also they had no lifts so not wheelchair or disabled friendly. i would probably not stay there again |

The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. The pool was great (especially when travelling with children!) Can't really fault our stay there, was a very nice experience. Thought the food prices were high, so didn't eat at hotel and there was not really enough tea and coffee in the room. |

The style of the hotel - it looked very impressive from the outset. Nothing - however, I did suggest maybe having a games room. |

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the last 7 years, the stay is always ok! Few things. There was a jar in the room with a tag saying enjoy our shortbread - it was empty! It needs to have shortbread or be removed. The bread served with the meal was dry / dried out. It was either cut too early or left in a hot area to dry out. Look and feel of the hotel does look a little dated / tired - needs a refurb. Check out what your competition are doing, it will help! |

The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very good! I found the bed a little uncomfortable, just a personal thing - it was too soft for me. Also, it was a warm weekend and when I left my window open overnight I had difficulty sleeping because of the noise from a nearby road. |

Welcoming facade bright and cheerful. Rooms were clean and spacious. Layout divided guest rooms from public rooms so not noisy at night. One of us found the beds uncomfortable. Cooked breakfast a bit greasy and not hot enough for us. |

With free parking and free Wi-Fi, this Tudor building dates back to 1604 and is situated on the banks of the River Colne, close to Colchester’s town centre and the railway station. |
The Ramada Colchester is a fine base for exploring Constable Country and the East Anglian coastline. |
