The staff were the feature of this hotel. There is clearly a policy at the Midland, to value and retain its long serving staff members and this added a lovely feel to our stay. The doormen and concierge staff were particularly helpful and friendly and full of excellent advice about things to see and do in the city. The breakfast staff were also just lovely and couldn't do enough for us and our children. I will recommend the Midland to friends and will ensure I post a review on Trip Advisor. Thanks again for a lovely break! The McGregor Family, Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates

The Midland is in a great location, I stayed for my Boyfriends birthday treat, the Xmas markets were round the corner which was easy walking and central to get round Manchester. The Midland was clean and the rooms were a good size and comfy beds. We were given a free bottle of wine with our room rate and we ordered room service for the morning, as they were late we got it free of charge, food was lovely and hot. A great stay..

The room was more luxurious than expected. It was also very private and relaxing combined with a bit of a wow factor. Great breakfast in the morning and a real lively buzz.Loved it and would visit again

Room very comfortable & quiet - Great Sleep - Free wi fi Arrived early in the morning after travelling all night but found it difficult to get early check in - Reception staff expected me to keep going back to counter to see if there was a room available - Refused to take my number and advise when a room was ready. I had to observe others checking in and then go to the desk to enquire - For the price I paid, I would consider that this was not an unreasonable request and this is the kind of csustomer service the separates and ordinary hotel from a good hotel

Enjoyed the room apart from a dirty carpet which we were disappointed with. The cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired with a filthy carpet. Breakfast organisation was shambolic with having to wait so long for the hot buffet food. To be honest if we hadn't had to dash off to make our train on the Sunday we would have compained profusely. Supposedly, the room was a special offer but after having chatted to other guests the had paid considerably less.

Relaxed, elegant atmosphere No hot water in the morning. These things happen but it might have been nice if on check-out the staff anticipated, raised the issue and apologised before I raised it with them.

I've stayed in the hotel now a few times and as normal it's an excellent hotel and in a very good location, the staff are friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi - basically the connection was poor in the room and also in the lobby, needs improving.

I loved the location & overall feel of the hotel. The building is magnificent. I thought the room was quite small though the location was excellent, overlooking St. Peters Square

There's little more I can say about The Midland. I've left many reviews on sites such as this, they consistently deliver. It's the only place I'm interested in staying in when I'm in Manchester. I know this sounds like I work for the hotel, but I don't have anything bad to say about the place.

I stayed at the Midland to celebrate a birthday with friends.Room was very comfortable and the staff were helpful in meeting our requests. The time passed very quickly and another night would have been very welcome. The hotel boasts a great atmosphere combining the buzz of the foyer with the peace of the room. We would certainly consider staying there again.

A contemporary classic. A valued Manchester landmark, and, deservedly so. High standards of comfort and quiet efficiency. As I was staying over following a works Christmas party, I was too hung-over to enjoy the delicious cooked breakfast, which I have had the pleasure to have sampled twice before. However, that is entirely down to me. Late check- out wasn't an issue, and, delighted to have received a complimentary bottle of red in my room. Also, concierge was very helpful and the doorman was a treasure - a characteristically friendly Mancunian, who couldn't apologise enough for not being able to lay his hands on an umbrella, all of which had been loaned to other guests, to shield them against the typical Manchester weather. Still, at least his cartographers understanding of the city's geography enabled me to get to my party as quickly as possible, dodging the raindrops. There is absolutely no cause to complain about any aspect of a stay at 'The Midland'.

The Midland Hotel was very welcoming from the start of our stay from the response on entering the hotel & reception through to room service, bar personal and breakfast the following morning, the room was comfortable very clean and well furnished. The staff at breakfast were attentive and welcoming but on the two occasions I have stayed within the last month the breakfast food ran out very quickly ( no problem there ) but I found that it was slow in being replenished and on both of my stays I had to find someone to bring it to there attention, I was a bit disappointed in that as I expected better standards. Perhaps there should be someone there who's task is to check the breakfast bar more frequently.
