The staff were the feature of this hotel. There is clearly a policy at the Midland, to value and retain its long serving staff members and this added a lovely feel to our stay. The doormen and concierge staff were particularly helpful and friendly and full of excellent advice about things to see and do in the city. The breakfast staff were also just lovely and couldn't do enough for us and our children. I will recommend the Midland to friends and will ensure I post a review on Trip Advisor. Thanks again for a lovely break! The McGregor Family, Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates

Locatio Rooms were dirty. Very small and dated. Priced to high especially after staying in the blue hotel in leeds which was £70 cheaper with more spacious rooms and more facilities in them. The hotel to me warrants a 2 star

near the metro room at a bit small for a four star too much going in there, beds not good enough too old and noisy.just about right for the price ,stayedat premier inn the night before alot cheaper and alot fresher.it seems if you pay a lower price for a room you get a lower graded room .

Convenient city centre location with The Manchester Centre conference venue just across the road. Breakfast unjustifiably expensive given the poor and slow service. I waited to be greeted & seated, then had to find a waitress after 15 mins with no tea / coffee service.

Very Smart looking hotel, in good location. Relaxing lounge/bar loved the pianist. Breakfast a little disappointing as the food was not really hot.

The hotel was ok. Staff polite, checkin/out efficient. Room was clean and reasonable size and included facilities that you would expect. Queue for breakfast on Sunday morning was long with a wait to be seated of about 20 minutes. Bed was soft and didnt offer enough support Bath was too small if you are taller than 4ft 6in.

Brought back fond memories of my years working in Manchester. Very much as I expected it to be after some 40 years absence. Staff excellent. How did they know it was my 80 th birthday this week? The Midland is now very much an oasis in a rather more squalid city centre.

The staff were very professional and very friendly! I felt as ease and very relaxed throughout my stay! Breakfast was included within the price we paid and I felt that the restaurant was very well organised and the food was lovely, it all ran very smoothly! The rooms were very basic but had everything that was needed! The staff gave me the option of whether I wanted help with my baggage etc rather then presuming I did, which I personally preferred, it was the small things like this that made the midland a relaxing and comfortable stay!

Unfortunately only got to stay one night at the Midland. Location - excellent, tram stops right outside to travel to Old Trafford or into town, or Piccadilly station. 5-7 minute walk to Arndale centre - which has everything. Staff - excellent, very helpful and courteous, left bags on last day until 17:00 no problem. Room very nicely laid out, clean and newly decorated. Bar - table service, excellent, I don't like queuing. 4 Star on paper but could hit 5 for staff alone.

The Hotel is functional as a business stopover but is a little soul less and lacks atmosphere. Location is good being close to central Manchester with good connections. Rooms are modern and clean. French Restaurant was closed on Monday night so we ate out.
