The Hotel was a beauty. So was the room. The staff was quite good. The only bad thing I have to say is that they checked another person in to our room(when we lived there) and also the cleaning lady woke us up when she walked into the wrong room. All in all, a very good hotel! |

I thought the overall quality and helpfulness of the reception staff and the concierge was excellent. Yes you had a very rude lady in the dining room at breakfast. She wore a suit and barked at the staff. She also made a comment about our group thinking she was out of earshot. We did not complain though , it was better to ignore her. |

Room was ok and bathroom worked with no cracked tiles etc. We were able to have decent hot showers. Enough towels. The waiting staff in the Octagon Bar were very good. Air conditioning smelt terrible and had to be turned off. Signposting in the hotel generally was not good. Wine in the bar was expensive but bad quality. Breakfast appalling - worst we've ever had. Would probably not stay in hotel again because of it. Queues everywhere - to get into breakfast room and to get food. Very busy and badly organised; it was like sitting in the middle of Kings Cross Station. Tea and coffee took a very long time to arrive and was cold. Coffee was revolting. Head waiter kept moving furniture over our heads. The food stations were scattered all over the room. Some of the hot food was cold and the rest wasn't properly cooked. Ruined the end of the stay and was a very bad start to our day. |

We attended a concert at the Bridgewater Hall so the hotel's location was excellent. The room was comfortable, the bathroom one of the best we have seen in a British hotel, but, above all, the staff were very helpful. You have got that part right. The breakfast was good but could have been better. The eggs were left too long so became a bit dry. . |

Room was a little small and stuffy (windows screwed down) but ok for 1 night. I liked the fact that the room had a safe. We already pre booked a restaurant in the centre so did not try the evening food but found the buffet breakfast excellent and the food was hot, Would definitely stay there again. |

The style, comfort and spaciousness of the faclilties made this hotel very welcoming. The room was well appointed and the food was good. The minibar in the bedroom was automatic which meant that one could be charged for something just by disturbing but not removing the contents. No notice of this was displayed near the minibar and was only found in small print on the room service menu. A charity donation of £1.00 was added to the bill automatically although it could be removed if disputed at checkout. I feel it would have been better to have been asked to donate at checkout not assume that people will agree to it automatically. |

Spacious, handsome marble entrance hall. The sitting area was up a few steps Where there were comfortable chairs and newspapers. The hallways to the bedrooms were wide and nicely decorated. Our room was large and very smart. The bathroom was smart, everything was spotless and in working order. All staff we met were welcoming and helpful. The hotel is extremally well placed for Manchester city centre Small grumble but the modern televisions was very small |

Location was excellent and on the tram line I thought the twin room left a lot to be desired. The bed space was cramped and the beds were soft.It was very difficult to aerate the room and no extra towels were provided for the second guest. The mini bar was outlandishly priced I doubt if It is the best Hotel in manchester and the breakfast coffee and tea were vile in taste. |

Very nice room and hotel. Windows would not open, not enough milk with complimentary tea and coffee. Can't understand why they have a smoking option on their website when all the hotel rooms are nonmoking ! |

I liked the friendly and efficient staff. The breakfast was excellent. When I requested slippers for going to the pool they were delivered to my room within 5 minutes - very effecient. I thought £6.50 plus service charge for a glass of house wine was very expensive. |

Delightful, friendly staff and very efficient in spite of being a busy city centre hotel in the Grand manner. Car parking is an issue, time consuming and expensive. Charging guests for wi-fi is narrow minded. |

I liked the location because it's central and next to the Conference Centre. The service at the Reception desk was good. The air conditioning was noisy and not effective. It was not possible to open the window for letting fresh air get into the room. |

The care and attention shown by staff at all times. Very minor point. On one occasion a receptionist 'spoke over' a more junior member of staff to whom our question had been addressed. When a guest speaks to a staff-member, let that person deal with matter until things are obviously going wrong. It made no difference to us but could cause a degree of resentment amongst staff. As a manager, I always tried to discourage 'superiority'. All staff have something to give. |
