Muy bien ubicado, muy cerca del Town Hall. Desayuno muy completo y bueno. Las habitaciones amplias y bien decoradas. Me esperaba el típico edificio victoriano viejo, enmoquetado y decadente y me ha sorprendido gratamente por lo nuevo e impecable que está todo. Lo recomiendo tanto para amigos, parejas como para familias. Tienen una señora, Bárbara, que atiende a todos los turistas para recomendarles qué ver. Muy buena atención a pesar de que el hotel estaba completo por las bodas que tuvieron el fin de semana y la Bupa Manchester Run.

Very welcoming and helpful staff, smart bar area reception and bedroom with good bathroom, and tempting breakfast choices.

Minor point - room door key set up stopped working 2 times but engineer fixed quickly.

It's a beautiful hotel - that cannot be disputed. Very grand and opulent and historic. The hotel staff seemed very friendly and attentive. The location is very central so extremely convenient for central Manchester.

Loads. For what we paid it was a depressing rip-off and I still feel rather upset by it. The opulence stopped at our room door. We'd booked a rare treat for our wedding anniversary and we were very deflated by our room which was eye-wateringly expensive and very poorly appointed. We felt tremendously let down. Our comps. 'Fluffy slippers' never materialised (at almost 200 quid for the room for the night I don't expect to have to beg for our comps so I didn't - I was too annoyed) and the bathroom essentials were almost non-existent: no shower cap, comb, needle kit, facecloth, make-up remover pads, nail file all the stuff other hotels have provided - just the three standard hair shampoo /condition and bath gel. And I don't mean one each I mean one between the two of us! There were not enough drawers and cupboard space and only two unmatching chairs so we had to keep dragging the chairs around the room for our various needs. The windows didn't open so we had to have the din of the air con on all the time and the view was restricted to the sky. It was very claustrophobic and totally disappointing and I feel robbed if I'm honest. Our regular London hotel overlooks Hyde Park and is every bit as historic and opulent as the Manchester Midland but at a fraction of the price. How can they justify these prices with so little in return. It almost ruined what was supposed to be a very special day.

The Staff were ALL very friendly and really made us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them and proactively looked to exceed out expectations. This was from Housekeeping to Reception and Concierge. We received a free upgrade as it was my friend's 50th birthday, we also received complementary champagne, breakfast and late check out. We used the gym and swimming pool which were ideal for our stay. Fabulous staff and hotel - would definitely recommend staying here.

I loved everything about this hotel - it was so opulent and spacious - a real feeling of old fashioned granduer. The room was fab including a super king sized bed!! Breakfast was really good. Staff super friendly and efficient and what really made it for us was the little personal touches - when we arrived there was a bucket of wine on ice with a card wishing my husband a happy birthday - what a lovely and very much appreciated gesture!

There was nothing we could report that we didn't like!

The hotel was in a great location, very helpful staff in particular the restaurant at breakfast. The room was a great size with good furnishings. Breakfast had good choices and the doorman was friendly.

The spa was a little dingy and in need of re-furbish.

Its an older quality hotel providing good facilities with room and Bathroom nicely decorated and dressed. Breakfast very good with a large choice of hot and cold food. Right on Metro route and fairly near to shops etc.

Shower bath plug not working properly with broken parts. One small hanging wardrobe ok for a few days for two but storage inadequate for any longer. You would be living out of a suitcase, but we were staying for 3 nights for a Wedding so it worked out ok.

The atmosphere in the hotel was excellent. the staff were very helpful and friendly. the room was exceptional.

I liked the location, the decor, the friendly staff, the food. Speed of response was very good when we asked for something.

The bathroom lacked some facilities, we had to ask for washcloths, shower caps, slippers.

Excellent location for exploring the city of Manchester, we had a really comfortable room on the 6th floor with a view onto Peter St. The concierge was so helpful advising us where to go as it was our first visit to Manchester. Reception area is beautiful and very luxurious . Lovely cookies in our room in the tea/coffee station. Good choice at breakfast and prompt service.

The reception staff member at check out was a bit on the cold side, but the helpful concierge more than made up for this.

The staff are amazing from the doorman, to Jimmy (concierge)and Helen on Reception plus bar staff. We only stayed one night but got to know them. Room was lovely as they gave us an upgrade.

Would like all the lifts to be working as there can be quite a queue.

Hopeless organisation for banquet dinner. Cold, draughty room (Trafford Suite), tiny bedroom with difficult access to wardrobe, mini bar etc. (416), windows do not open. No bath robe, data protection issues - they insist on photographing your passport or drivers licence and only reluctantly return it.

Location was ideal and staff extremely helpful

In our first room, our toilet had not been cleaned and there were faeces down the toilet. Once I complained, we were moved to another room, which had a heavily stained carpet and dirty walks. It's was not a superior room in a four star hotel. Very disappointing.
