Friendly Staff all very helpful
The bed was really really comfy and the tea coffee kettle facility was good
Breakfast wasnt included in the price. disapointing. for the price wish breakfast had have been included.
a bit dated, cleanliness can be improved
Hotel room really quiet and beds are very comfortable. Enjoyed cocktails in the stylish bar.
Large single beds, lots of mirrors for 3 girls getting ready! comfy cosy beds, I could smell the clean bed linen which I love!!
Carpets could do with replacing, dusty behind /under cupboards!
The room was comfy enough, was in good location.
The trouser press fell off the wall, so did the head board. The room needed updating. At check in we were not told about the leisure facilities or the resturants and bars. A little disappointed really. A lot of money. Stayed at the Edwardian radison next door a couple of months ago and that was years ahead.
The staff were very helpful and the room was very comfortable. It is also a great location.
The mini bar fridge rattled all night and intermittently kept me awake. It was very near to the bed, which didn't help.
Lovely superior twin room and worth the £15 upgrade fee. My daughter and I both slept really well and enjoyed using the pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The location was good - handy for many of Manchester's 'sites".
Fairly pricey for room only but many cafes / coffee shops nearby. No discount on parking.
Liked the style of the foyer and the grandeur of the building inside and out. The Octagon Bar (except after wedding parties) and a great Meal at Mr Coopers
On arrival we were not really made to feel welcome, we were asked for a credit card but I only use debit cards which we were told were not acceptable, the explanation for this was vague to say the least and I was lost when the receptionist started talking about overdrafts but we were too tired to pursue the matter We had a lot of luggage which we were clearly struggling with, the gentleman in front of us had one small bag and was asked if he needed a porter which he declined, we were not asked and had to make two trips to the lift, I counted 4 staff looking on including a porter. The room was well appointed but the finish was poor, the bathroom looked o.k. but on closer inspection had cracked floor tiles which were quite sharp, also the carpet leading to the bathroom was loose, curling up at the edges, and not at all clean. I was also bemused that the mini bar was locked, but no matter it had to be disconnected because the buzzing sound kept waking us up through the night, when I conveyed this problem to reception the following morning I was told that maintenance would sort it out, there was no apology To sum up we were in central Manchester this time last year in a budget hotel and decided that this year we would pay three times the price for quality and luxury and have a special working holiday, this was not achieved. Sadly we had a better experience in a two star budget hotel and were greeted with respect and courtesy.
Staff and reception great. Very helpful and friendly.
Room was quite overpriced for what it was.
Staff and rooms perfect
Simon Rogan's restaurants - tried both - excellent
Gym.....terrible - please upgrade urgently and also need to add a few more amenities to bathrooms - cotton wool?
helpfulness of staff room quality high standard throughout
Generally friendly and clean
Rather too laid-back - see headline
A historic hotel in the heart of Manchester with amazing architecture, good staff and a spa thrown in for good measure. Just a shame it doesn't serve a railway station any more.
It's that thing where air conditioning is installed, a blessing or a curse?
Very spacious bedrooms.
Impossible to get served breakfast, easier to use Costa Coffee across the square. We will never go back.
Staff, particularly concierge who were particularly helpful and friendly. restaurant top class. The food was very good and again staff very efficient and friendly.
First room assigned to us was very small with small double bed. This room was not very clean either with dust on skirting boards and stains on carpet. Not four star quality by any means.
OK for the south end of the centre; big dull and austere
Didn't explain that if they didn't take a credit card the mini bar would be locked. So it was. And then tried to charge us for taking stuff from it! Bed was small.
Lovely room and helpful staff.
Efficient check in Nice comfortable room Nice biscuits! Central location Comfy bed Helpful staff
we stayed here on our wedding night and must say the staff were lovely and offered us a glass of bubbly. the room was lovely and couldnt fault our stay. we are looking at coming back on our first year wedding anniversary
This hotel is in an incredibly vibrant location full of trendy bars and coffee shops for the morning after.
Very polite and helpful staff. Although the hotel was fully booked were were given access to our room early, beds were very comfy and room adequate. The building is very grand and retains much of its elegance and traditional charm which was a pleasure to see.
Although on the fifth floor I was woken very early by the noise from the Metro passing near to the hotel. During the evening a large section of the bar was roped off for a wedding function which for us as hotel guests meant that we did not have full use of the facilities. The bar prices were very expensive in comparison to other local restaurants, pubs etc. Some parts of the hotel were a little tired looking although nothing too drastic, however at such an expensive hotel I would expect a very high standard.
Friendly staff. Fantastic foyer
