Freedom, cleanliness of the room. Friednliness of the staff
The bedroom curtain would have been better if it could be lowered from the top. This would give more light and give more privacy in the daytime.
Location - convenient, short walk from West station, from Marlowe Theatre and from Cathedral. Outlook - picturesque mill chase on one side, view of Cathedral on other. Quiet - we were expecting traffic noise but the room was quieter than being at home. Room - pleasing decor, comfortable beds. Staff - friendly, helpful, efficient. Food - breakfast fine; dinner good. Style - modern version of traditional pub; we felt at ease.
Curious lack of a towel rail near the basin in the bathroom. Some of the 'muzak' in the restaurant area was a bit hectic; we were glad of the quieter sections!
Location, staff, food
The Location was ideal, close to the Cathedral and centre but in a quiet street with a small park opposite and parking across the street alongside a river walk.
Everything was good for us.
Great location Staff really helpful Chilling out in the well-stocked bar Not too busy Great breakfast
Maybe a bit pricey?
Good food at fair prices, well looked after beer, great location, traditional British family hotel feel.
Street noise- mainly because of the stupid building regs in UK that prevent old sash windows being upgraded and double-glazed.
Friendly welcoming staff, clean and comfortable rooms with great beds, tasty breakfast choices well presented, safe public car park(£6 per 24hrs with voucher)just 3min walk away
The staff at the millers arms were so welcoming from the moment we arrived. The hotel is located perfectly as it is only a 5 minutes walk into the beautiful town of Canterbury. The room was spacious and clean with a view of the Catherderal! The food in the pub downstairs was delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed are stay and we definitely be coming back again!
The staff made our stay very special, they were particularly attentive and the manager Paul went out of his way to make sure we were well looked after. Clean, quiet room, restaurant and breakfast staff excellent and extensive breakfast menu. Would highly recommend Paul's Gin and Tonics - wonderful. Will most certainly return. Jo Deal
Friendliness of all the staff Modern, comfortable accommodation Pristine room and ensuite Great value for money Ideal location with easy access to Universities etc Excellent restaurant Convenient parking
Very friendly and helpful staff. Location ideal for city centre. Good breakfast.
Kitchen closed at 19:00 on Sunday evening, too early for a tourist area.
Very near to city centre & cathedral Scenic riverside pathway into town & park nearby Jogging/walking trail nearby & alongside the river & into the country area if you want to stay active Hot choc & shortbread in the room! Warm & friendly staff
Soothing sounds of the river immediately outside eased me into sleep
Lovely hotel, pub & restaurant! Management and staff extremely professional yet still friendly. Had fabulous breakfasts with great food and terrific service. We also had a great lunch. Lovely staff, and lovely clientele.
Lovely pastoral location - olde worlde with modern high standards. Excellent food.
A few noisy people outside.
Stayed for 4 nights at this hotel...Room is incredibly small, only 1 meter room around the bed.Bathroom shower mixer valve didn't work, told the reception,no fixing.Next morning, the owner itself, looked surprised,no excuses,no appologies.Very bad attitude.Late night customers at the pub below are very noisy, can't rest untill they gone.Cleaning lady had to come lately, never return for that day.I would never return to stay in this hotel again ever! And is not a 4 stars hotel as it is classified,no way!I would say 2-3 stars...Horible!
The hotel is located next to a garden and mills which are quite picturesque but at the same time the cathedral and the town is just a few steps away. The breakfast is great too as they offer a numbers of variety from the menu for guests to choose from. The staffs are very friendly and helpful and i will definitely book this hotel again for my next visit.
Everything was excellent, from the staff, the cleanliness, the standard of the room and even to where it is situated. Easy to park, almost opposite (with a parking deal done at reception upon arrival). Seriously, if you are visiting Canterbury (and you should, it's a brilliant place for a weekend) then you will find it difficult to find a nicer place to stay. I have said that the menu was limited but the quality of the food was excellent and if you like an English breakfast then you are at the right place - absolutely the best choice and quality ever!!!!!!
Limited menu but spoke to the manager and things are changing, so I look forward to my next visit
Everything about The Miller's Arms is of a high standard. The accommodation is very comfortable and it's great to stay above, one of the great English institutions, the pub. I liked being next to the old mill race on the beautifully clear river.
Very noisy. Kept awake by the the adjacent room's bathroom air vent. Why the air vents have to make industrial noise, not sure
Nice furniture Very clean room Excellent bed Great location (5 mn walk to the West Railway and to the main street)
Some guests in the bar were a little noisy
Excellent location. Breakfast and spotless bedding.
Staff were fantastic, really friendly and totally accommodating to the requests I made whilst staying there. I will definitely return when I come back to visit Canterbury
Staff were great. Room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean and a good size. Breakfast servers were very good, Nothing was to much trouble. Tea/Coffee making facility in the room. They were able to look after our luggage until after my daughters graduation had taken place in the afternoon. Only a short walk to/from Canterbury West railway station, (10 mins max).
No lock on the window. No mushrooms or Has Browns for the breakfast, (should be easily rectified when you live in a city). Pillows were a bit hard, (a personal thing). Creaky floorboards on one side of the bed,(to be expected in an older property). Could have had a bit more lighting.
Great location near to the city centre. Rooms were nicely decorated and very clean Friendly staff
