Just 15 minutes’ drive from Leicester’s centre, The Narborough Arms is friendly pub dating back to the 17th century. It offers traditional inn style rooms and boasts free on-site parking.
Score from 79 reviews Good
The only positive comments I can give is that the bed was very comfortable and the room was warm.
The decor was unacceptable with mold everywhere in the bathroom and cobwebs in the bedroom. The toilet and sink were disgusting with most of the enamel peeling. The windows had mold from condensation. There was no bulb in dressing table mirror. The room wasn't expensive but neither is the cost of cleanliness. I definitely won't stay there again.
The location for my needs was good. Dining available. Spacious.
Room cleanliness was poor.
Good location, facilities, nice staff, clean bedding
Room fittings looked old & shabby - door let in the drafts & the door / windows let in a lot of traffic noise
Cold room, lights kept going off because of timer.
meals good rooms comfortable staff welcoming
problems booking online, not registered at the hotel. rooms, although clean & comfortable needed to be smartened up
The free biscuits in the room.
Disappointed. It cost fifty pounds. Terrible. Wifi didn't work. Room ok. Bathroom basic and run down. No mats, no soap. Horrible. Grotty.
Staff were excellent as usual. Large, comfortable pub has a good atmosphere, with decent food and good real ales. Good place to stopover for a solo traveller or a family.
Bathrooms are becoming a problem - they really need refurbishing. The washbasin and loo in my room had been 're-enamelled' but it hadn't worked and was severely chipped. Time to refit these bathrooms before people are put off booking. Losing the background music in the pub, evening and breakfast would get my vote as an improvement - but just an opinion!
Clean sheets & comfy bed Very friendly staff member at breakfast time. Nice playground. Good water pressure for the shower. Lots of parking
Long wait at reception desk for both check in and check out even though at check out I had been seen and not acknowledged - this is why I rated staff as fair rather than good. Unpleasant smell in room - I don't know if the bathroom floor had been mopped with filthy water or if there was a problem with the drains but not nice. No extra blankets in the room which was chilly when entered. I'm sure there would have been extra if I had walked back on over to reception but after a long journey and waiting to be seen we were very tired and just wanted to sleep. We stayed in a room closer to the main building last time and it was clean, warm and well decorated. This room had obviously seen better days, the bath enamel was peeling & the toilet was heavily limescaled and brown.
location food is ok good range of beers at reasonable prices
only one dining chair to sit on in the room and there were two of us being thrown out of the bar when we were residents (cos of the time) and it was only 11pm
The location was easily accessible
The rooms are very shabby and the bathroom in particular was nowhere near minimum acceptable cleanliness levels even for a £50 a night hotel. The toilet had faeces stains which had clearly been there a long time and the wash basin was splattered with what looked like ground in mud. I would ask for a change of room if you get offered room 8 Unless it gets a refit I won't be staying there again.
Relatively quiet. Bed ok with nice cotton sheets.
Grubby and with a stale smell. He bathroom was shabby.
Room needs refurbishing, bathroom needs some TLC, breakfast could be better.
Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent location for stoney cove.
Location & restaurant
Bathroom in poor condition
Location near to Broughton Astley
shabby bathrooms and toilet.
the food was excellent along with the service
we stayed here 20 years ago on our honeymoon and I don't think the rooms have had an update since that time. you need to make sure they are cleaned better and they are brought up to date and the windows also need painting or replacing
The room was dirty, the overall impression was run down and no investment. Cigarette butts all over the entrance, breakfast was the worst I have had in any hotel. The staff were 'adequate'. I could not and would not recommend this hotel.
Unclean rooms covered in dust, toilet disgusting, hook off toilet door left on floor very poor.
the hotel and staff are friendly and attentive and the food is superb.
The toilets, although clean had lost their enamel in the basin and was really off putting. Otherwise no complaints
a comfortable bed
bathroom was discusting black stains in and around the top of the toilet pan windows in the bedromm mould all around the window pains and stains all over the extra single bed ,never visit again
The room was clean.
The bathroom equipment needed replacement. ie toilet and washbasin were worn.
Restaurant was ok
The room, particulalry bathroom. Grimy and outdated.
Very conveniently placed for what we needed. The breakfast has improved quite considerably since last time I stayed. The room was spacious and comfortable.
The bathroom was a bit 'tired'.
Very comfortable bed Clean room Good shower Good location Room across courtyard from pub Helpful and friendly staff
nice location, handy for the pub and meals. tea and coffee in bed room. shower nice and powerful, good size towels comfy bed. good parking
shabby room and bathroom could do with a make over.
