It's a distinguished and in part ancient manor house that has managed to provide luxurious rooms and baths while retaining the charm of the stone and timbers of the original structure. The public spaces are well appointed and inviting - fireplaces, etc. As well, it has a one star Michelin restaurant in a beautiful space - great breakfasts, lunches, teas, and dinners. On the grounds, but distant from the Manor House so that it does not disturb the tanquility and beauty of its extensive grounds and gardens, is a golf course nestled spectacularly in the hills and valleys and forests of the estate. The village is also ancient and lovely, the Bybrook running through it, and the walks in the area, only a short distance from Bath, provide long vistas of the Cotswold countryside. We were 3 generations together and the staff was quite accomodating for the younest in the group, We were there for 3 nights stay and had a wonderful time. The many stairs and ups and downs of the old building could be a problem for some travellers.

This weekend was booked as a get away from the stresses of life weekend. It certainly lived up to that. Srevice was second to none, dinner superb, and our room fantastic. Polite, friendly staff who gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble. Thank you

High quality service and excellent room, with an individually special character. Restaurant is first class. The experience all comes at a price though, so probably linked to "special occasions". No Complaints. Excellent all round experience.

Location, luxurious room for 20th wedding anniversary. Excellent service. AquaVision tv in bathroom didn't work. Very disappointing, as apparently hotel was aware, but we were not told. Instruction guide for room very poor. Assumption everyone very gadget aware. We aren't!

The hotel is located in the historic village of Castle Combe. We were upgraded to one of the wonderful cottages right next to the main house. The atmosphere at this location is very special and individual because great care was taken to keep the "authentic" ambience while still providing all the desired comfort. The area is also very nice for hiking. The restaurant is excellent (although quite expensive). The personal was very helpful and are really committed to make the guests feel comfortable.

I booked this hotel for my husbands birthday after staying at South Lodge Hotel in Horsham last year i wanted a break with the same facilities .This Hotel exceeded our expectations .An amazing weekend from start to finish. The staff were very helpful the room was lovely and our meal in the restaurant was probably one of the best meals we have ever had. I would highly recommend The Manor House Hotel to everybody especially for special occasions. The only niggle was that we stayed here on probably the hottest weekend of the year and there was no air conditioning in our room. Just a small blip in our amazing weekend.

Excelent hotel beautiful surroundings, imagine even better in the summer with its grounds and the village found it difficult for the evening meal did not want a Michelin star meal just good food the only alternative was room service taken either in your room or a lounge.

“Gorgeous quiet location surrounded by lovely gardens. We didn't have time to make use of tennis courts etc but again, lovely setting for a tennis match. A country house hotel as you imagine it should be yet well placed for the larger attractions of Bath, Lackock etc and Corsham itself is worth walking around.” Judith, Ramsey, Huntingdon, Cambs |
