Nice accommodation, friendly staff, comfortable bed. Could have done without someone hoovering outside my room (that's what it sounded like) at 3 in the morning! The floorboards need serious attention; in the hall ways, every one of them creaks an squeeks, making it impossible to sleep through someone passing your room.

The Moorings has a great location in Motherwell, it's also quite a well known and historical house that has been converted into a hotel. We had a comfortable stay, staff were friendly and took very good care of us. Full Scottish breakfast was fantastic and a great way to start the day. Free internet was nice also. Nice friendly pub is part of the location which is a nice plus if you feel like a "wee" drink before going to bed. Overall it's not going to blow you away but if it's a well priced, friendly, good location in the Clyde valley you're looking for it does the job.

We were in Motherwell to attend a family wedding. Staff were very helpful, courteous and efficient. Breakfast was great as was other food on the menu in the bar/restaurant. Rooms were very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. If we were to be in the area again we would definitely consider booking at the Moorings. Ample parking right outside the door. As in just about every hotel today, room lighting is muted and if you want a strong and/or direct light eg: to apply make-up - forget it. It didn't bother us in the slightest, but there is no lift in the hotel. There are, however, good facilities for those with disabilities and these are on the ground floor.

A very clean and well equipped room. Dining and bar service excellent. Room was large and had a high ceiling. Although it was not nearly as cold as it could have been in winter the heating in the room was not adequate. It had not been left on and after four hours the room was still not comfortable. This is a bad ommission for a hotel that is otherwise very good.

I could not choose from your list as our visit was because we were attending a family funeral. We had to stay overnight as the funeral service was split between two days. We had separate rooms as I am a very poor sleeper and would disturb my wife who is not. Staff all very friendly. As our family provided our food we only had breakfast in the hotel. This was adequate but the plate, cooked food and coffee was not very hot but that is a very small point. The bedroom accomodation is very good. As our son and his wife's family live in Airdrie we will certainly stay with you when we visit again. As we prefer to travel by train from Darlington the Moorings is convenient for the station on a direct line. We have stayed at other hotels in the area which fell well short of your standards. I know some folk would like a mini bar in the rooms, but I take a non alcoholic drink for the night. I had no trouble getting one from the bar. So this time our use of the hotel was limited by the sad occasion but we will not hesitate to book with you again. The price this time was just right as value for money. A small suggestion, please add a couple of chocolate drinks to the self-service tea facility in the bedroom. Hope this is what you want to know from Geoff and Val Bucknall. Very Senior Citizens. We have no valid complaints.

We loved the building - it was and old, but well-taken care off building. The staff were very friendly and helpful! We loved the breakfast with huggies ;) The hotel is very central - 5-10 minutes walk from the centre. We were lucky with the weather - it was warm and sunny, very unusual for this time of the year :)

Clean and modern. Staff very friendly. We had to leave very early in the morning to catch a flight and the night porter made us breakfast which was very kind of him. My only complaint was that part of my family were given the upgraded rooms and myself and my daughter were in the older rooms which were not as nice but I was still happy with the cleaniness of the room.

Most welcoming and friendly service from arrival to departure. Nothing was too much trouble. Only disappointment for me was no lift in the hotel. Staff did assist us with our luggage upstairs on arrival and downstairs on departure
