The New Inn – RelaxInnz16 Northgate St, Gloucester, GL1 1SF (Show map)
Good,
Score from 415 reviews
“ I love the querkiness of the building. Its very old and has many features associated with a building of that age (uneeven floors, walls that arn't straight, gurgalling pipe work, mismatched furniture) The room itself was well fitted, had loads of space and provided free wifi. The breakfast was excellent and quite cheap. The staff are friendly and helpful. ”

The location is in the centre of the shopping mall so you just step of the hotel and your amongst it that you cant park outside as its a pedestrian walkway and its a 15 min walk to where we park the car in national car parks for carring your luggage to the hotel

The New Inn has such great character. Staff were friendly. The New Inn needs at lot of TLC. It's such a fantastic old building but the decor is awful. We stayed in the Lady Jane Suite which had the most noisiest bed I have ever slept in, every turn could be heard. Breakfast was nothing exceptional.

The evening meal, the choice of real ales, the history, the feel of old England, the rooms & the sunshine. The modern shop fronts on the outside of a fifteenth century building.

Wonderful 'old-world' architecture, very conveniently situated. Good meals, excellent value for money. Our room was VERY warm due to the good weather while we were there. Had to leave window open all day and night with curtains closed to attempt to cool the room.

The room was excellent. We stayed in the Lady Jane Grey suite. It was beautifully clean and the bathroom was lovely. It was so wonderfully traditionally and original. The food was excellent, and wonderfully fresh, and the service was quick and friendly (for the most part). The person who welcomed us to the hotel at reception wasnt terribly friendly, and sadly for us, she was our waitress in the first part of the evening also. I can understand she was probably tired, but as a customer, I don't want to see that!

The age and history of the building. The location and shops. Breakfast was a shamble, the chef failed to show up for duty and the staff didn't know what to do.The situation was a complete farce. Our breakfast was not what we ordered, and my toast didn't show up after my asking twice. The coffee ran out and was not refilled. people got served before us even though they came in after us. I complained to the desk but was told he could do nothing about it..

great central location in pededtrian area - shame about the 60s style concrete shops around such splendid original architecture. atmosphere lovely andinteresting layout . bar and restaurant were interesting and good service. Fabulous seeing the galleried first floor. the bar was fine and intersting until they put the awful pop music on at FULL NOISE. It really spoilt the atmostphere of this lovely place. Also in my bathroom and bedroom the hairdryer didnt work and the tv turned on and then never worked again. otherwise room comfortable.

In the center of the city. Not much else to recommend. The floors were so uneven I fell when I walked to the window in my room. The curtains afforded no privacy, even when closed other hotel guests could see into my room as they passed. There was a nightclub below my room with excessive noise on the weekend, there was no indication of this from the booking process.

The hotel was clean and tidy. Good location in centre of town The hotel was fine if you were stone deaf and had all the time in the world for breakfast. We sat an hour but no sign of our food. The fourposter suite was directly over the bar. Soooo noisey from music and people shouting. The seagulls were noisy too all through the night.

Hotel's architecture and location Poor beds. Some machine on the roof, just outside the window, buzzing loudly for the whole night. Seagulls mating loudly on the roof. This three factors together made me could not sleep for the whole night. Wifi had very weak signal in the room. Had to work on the hotel's corridor. The manager of the hotel is lazy and incompetent. Couldn't get proper invoice to keep records of my business trip. In general: total disaster.
