VERY loud music until beyond 2.30am so impossible to sleep. Son and friends had to wait to eat breakfast because no tables available which affected plans for the day. Wooofdog
Quiet ,bright bedroom, thankfully
A very noisy wedding reception was flooding the entrance and down the corridor.
Location, car parking good. Some staff were great
Reception Lindsey, poor customer service. Early room not ready, reception said you will have to change for the wedding in the toilet. Breakfast is a joke, limited tables, guests waiting, and the food area/room is so small and the breakfast is rubbish. The executive rooms are small just standard there are bigger rooms in the premier Inns. The bed are soft and bouncy. This hotel claims to be a quality place, it's not.
Friendly staff Food excellent quality & price Rooms modern, light & airy Bed comfortable Great location to town centre Relaxing atmosphere
Whilst clean, some décor in need of updating
The staff were knowledgeable and helpful
Hotel rooms were tatty and badly in need of updating and decorating.
Staff very welcoming, professional and efficient Breakfast was good- lots of choice Biscuits provided with tea and coffee facilities!
The shower - couldn't get it between scalding and cold There wasn't anything to hold the window open- temp of room was hot despite using the fan from the wardrobe The decor of the hotel seemed dated
Unfortunately there was a wedding and the noise did not stop until after 1.00am. It would have been good to know this before booking.
Couldn't get a good nights sleep as the hotel was really noisy at night Parking is very limited It is a bit shabby and run down inside
Staff were fantastic... happy polite and helpful. Great feel to the hotel.
TV needed updating and enlarging. Wardrobe positioning in the room and indirect light from window.
No gym facilities on site
Got dinner order as soon as we arrived (late) to make sure we had hot food Changed room booking for larger room to allow z bed after allocation originally incorrect & no family room available
Couldn't guarantee hot food for late arrival Room booking had not noted two children
Food served on a wet and cold plates. Toast bought after you had got your breakfast. Also the area for getting the above was far to small
Brilliant friendly staff. Excellent location. Value for money
staff were friendly
was a weddin on both nights makin it very noisy & lack of parkin the gym & spa was a distance away
Staff were fantastic.Room was very comfortable. Very enjoyable breakfast
Nothing negative about this place
Amazing time from arrival to leaving.
We were in room 7. Very comfortable however a little tired. The hotel decor was stunning and then our room seemed dated.
The staff were so friendly and helpful especially the twins, nothing was to much trouble. Hotel was very clean and food was excellent.
Parking was difficult due to a wedding.
Staff were very helpful Comfortable room Good breakfast Short walk into town centre
Not enough parking spaces, had to park in the road 5 minutes walk away
Frienly and helpfull staff, good location (nearby the citycentre), nice garden
No airco, no minibar, a bit dated, not enough parkingfacilties
Staff were very friendly throughout. I was only there one night but I felt welcome. My room was big and the bed comfortable. There was an added bonus of a lovely fruit bowl..most thoughtful. Breakfast was self service and plentiful. This might have been difficult for some but I imagine staff would have helped were this the case. All in all I really enjoyed staying here. The furniture etc is dated but that adds to the charm.
My room was at the side, overlooking the function room. There was a party going on and the thump of the music made it difficult to get to sleep. If this had happened a further night, had I stayed longer, I would be very disappointed. That said, I had a really good night's sleep and would love to go back and stay longer. I did not use the spa but I did not like the idea of having to walk there, or take the car. Shame the facilities are not on-site.
The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are clean and well maintained
The other guests - I was kept awake until 1.30am by noisy guests. The food has deteriorated in quality in the last 2-3 years. Very disappointing meal in restaurant.
Nice restaurant and bar and good breakfast
Room very small - no room for a travel cot without removing one of the chairs
Location close to the centre
I thought the hotel was very tired looking, worn dirty carpets, the bathroom had broken cracked tiles and the grout was missing in places, its a shame because the room was lovely.
The staff at Bannatyne's were really friendly and obliging. Our request for a "quiet room" was remembered and we were given a quiet room at the back of the hotel. The room was comfortable if a little small with huge bath towels.
The hotel was in the throws of summer wedding season and it was busy. Breakfast was quite acceptable but supplies did run out and were topped up. We would have liked to have tried Maxine's for dinner but upon check in were told we would have to eat either before 6.30 or after 8.30. As it was we enjoyed the short walk into town and a lovely meal at a restaurant called "Uno Momento" (highly recommend). We made use of the free pass to the leisure centre about a mile away and had a pleasant swim, hot tub & steam bath.
