The staff there were very helpful and friendly. The hotel seemed very clean and nicely presented in the main part of the hotel. Although the main building appeared nice The Lodge where we stayed smelt of damp and te room was cold even though it was warm outside the sink was in the bedroom which made it unpleasent to wash in and we did not use the shower as the groute looked very dirty. Also the cost of two drinks was £12.00 which we thought was exhorbitant. |

The room was excellent (219-I think) and the four poster was a pleasant surprise. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was first class. The location of the hotel was ideal. Apparently other guests were very noisy late at night and also set the fire alarm off. I slept through it but my wife was kept awake. |

Very friendly and helpful staff, good bus links into town , within easy walking distance of several interesting historic sites. Food was disappointing,I feel the restaurant would be better patronised if the choice and quality of food was improved and promoted more. |

A nice quieter area of town. It was very clean, and comfortable, swimming pool isn't all that atmospheric but it was nice to have a swim, bartender "Barry" was an awesome guy to chat to when returning to the hotel. Breakfast was yum and good enough selection. |

I was disappointed that my details were left on the desk for all to see for some time. I unpacked and then got ready to go out. on the way out I left my key and asked the receptionist to take my details off the counter. She retortred back very sharply that she was just about to! |

The place was adequate and nothing more. I would not use this hotel again. The bar and restaurant were deserted and not very inviting |

The food in the restaurant was really great. One small thing there was only one waitress on and there was a bit of a wait for the food courses. She worked really hard but she really needed some one else to help! more staff would of made it perfect. |

The staff were friendly and the room was clean and a reasonable size. Parking was free with a very regular bus service right outside the hotel. Although it's only a pleasant 15 min walk into the city. Breakfast was good and served in a pleasant dinning room. It's away from the 'madness and mayhem' that takes over York City Centre on Friday and Saturdau nights. The decor is very dated. There appears to have been no change since our first stay 15 years ago. The painted anaglypta wallpaper is the same as we used in our first house in 1982. Rooms at the front suffer from road noise as there's no double glazing. |
