Hotel was within easy reach of main attraction by bus as bus sytopped outside Hotel also within walking distance .The swimming pool was a bonus,sauna was also available.Rooms were comfortable. The changing room available for the pool was freezing. |

The location and parking included. We was allocated the coach house which really is dire, especially because of the price charged. I'd rather pay ten pound more and stay at the Queens next time. The room was awful, from decor to comfortness, was like been in a caravan. |

The reception welcome was warm and efficient and the hotel atmosphere was very relaxing. The food was excellant but the evening meal veg was a little disappointing ie baby sweetcorn and one other when perhaps carrots, broccoli,, peas or cauliflower would have complimented the wonderful main course. |

I chose the hotel because of it's proximity to my daughter's address and the fact that it had a restaurant. I was staying with my elderly mother and felt the room on the ground floor to be particularly good. It was warm clean and comfortable. I felt the bar prices were on the high side even for a hotel although the house wine was good quality and a reasonable price. |

It was only a short walk into the town centre, the staff were friendly. The hotel was run well, lady on the desk was very friendly.We got put in a room in the courtyard outside the hotel as there was a wedding party who were staying in the main hotel the room was small and dark and smelt very strongly of damp and a musty smell which was very strong, not good for me as I have asthma! I asked if we could be moved because of the smell and we were given the keys to another room which was better as the smell wasn't nearly as strong although the corridors leading up to it were very bad! This hotel could be good if it was modernised and they got somebody out to sort out the damp problem.It would have been nice also to have had a slight bit of music in the bar area as well as it was very quiet in there. |

The breakfasts were good and staff were friendly, our room did not reflect the downstairs of the hotel, the room was quite poor but the hotel quite nice. The room was quite poor really for the rest of the hotel. |

Our room was nice and bright. The bed was clean and the matress was very good and comfortable. The receptionists were very kind.The breakfast was good. When we arrived at the hotel parking we didn't like the view of the house from the outside. |

Staff were very approachable and efficiently pleasant, the breakfast was superb. The whole place could of done with a lick of paint, especially the bedroom/bathrooms, this lets the whole place down as the painted surfaces were drab and grubby. I'm glad we didnt pay full price or I would of been extremely unhappy, on the plus side the bed was clean and comfortable and the towls clean and fresh, it wa svery convienent to the centre of york so would probaberly give it another try if we visited york again. |
