The staff athe hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful.very polite and always ready to assist. The reception staff were very professional and informative. The hotel itself is situated perfectly near the motorway. The rooms are stylish and very cozy, very clean and the showers are wonderful, the beds are extremely comfortable and the room service is good too. The staff at breakfast were very good and very helpful. Its nice to see that the uk can have excellent customer service. There are a lot of hotels in the uk that could take a lead from the staff at the Nottingham Belfry. I have recommended the hotel to friends, family and collegues.

The highlight of my 3 night stay was the maintenance man coming and trying to help me with the internet connection. Really nice person, and went out of his way to help. This hotel was very disappointing. The room was dingy, the shower door broken, there were marks all over the walls. The internet didn't work, I had to change rooms, and then it only worked randomly. One night I ordered room service for dinner, and the meal ordered was not what I had ordered. I ate it anyway as it was late, but was shocked when then next evening when I came back (it was late, 9pm) the dirty dishes from the previous night were still outside my door in the hall. 24 hours later! Also the room service person, asked whether I had run a tab on my credit card when she delivered the food. Quite unprofessional, the whole lot. Would never go back there again. Over priced for less than decent rooms and utterly poor service...

Receptionist was really freindly and helpful. Breakfast was nice. The aircon was really poor, the room was hot and stuffy. The breakfast trays were left outside all day till about 8:00pm. I had to ask for them to be taken away. I didn't understand why the room was so expensive, especially as the hotel was 20 minutes out of the city centre, it cost £12 to get a taxi into town and £15 on the way back. If you wanted to get the tram you had to walk on the main roadside which is very busy and dangerous. If you wanted to get a bus you had to walk 30 minutes and then the bus ride was another 20 minutes. The room was very basic, spacious but basic, I didn't understand how it was a 'superior' room at all? We needed toothpaste but the hotel could not provide this.

Receptionist was good once he located our booking via my first name and not surname. General atmosphere ok Bathroom crampt. Shower doors would not close. Evening meal only adequate. Bedroom overheated. Booked a morning call that did not happen. 2 lightbulbs not working. Breakfast tea arrived 20 minutes after we sat down and we had already finished our meal . The tea tasted like the scrapings from the bottom of the box. At £119 for the room this was twice the price of another 4* hotel we stayed at the following night where eveything was excellent. All of the above was mentioned at checking out but no discount offered. Not good enough for a 4* hotel

The hotel location was perfect for our purpose. The room was very good, clean and confortable. We had dinner at the Restaurant and one of the guest was served a dish which was not what she asked for. It was put right but it meant that she ate after the other people at the table had finished. We need it to leave the Hotel by 8.00am so we asked for breakfast in the room due to the lateness of the opening of the restaurant but the breakfast never came even after we phoned reception twice.

After spending 30 nights in the hotel, My stay had to get extended, however, they were 'overbooked' (even though the parking lot was practically empty). Im sure 75% of their booking came from online websites pre-booking reservation...however, they couldnt fit me in. The night before I left there were no rooms available, yet 6 hours later (after I booked another hotel) and right as I was checking out, they had a room for 1 night. This system is not geared towards making the customer happy...just making the money from whoever it comes from. Very unhappy about this...cause I know rooms would of been available.

Pool was small and lighting in the suite was very low/dim, tvs wasnt working at all so was boring and only for show, no reception on mobile phones, food at the bar was poor and my jacket tatoe was abit hard undercooked :/

The indoor pool was lovely as were the sauna and steam rooms. The suite we stayed in was fab and everything you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. Breakfast had a great selection of hot and cold food however the coffee was a let down and I had better in my room.

Good quality hotel very good location for our visit to Trowell. Disappointed with the amount of milk available in the room. Enough for one cup of tea!! At breakfast the young man cooking the breakfast needs more training on how to cook eggs. He allowed the eggs to run out we had to wait whilst he cooked more eggs which were left to cook whilst he disappeared into the kitchen. Seven people we eventually waiting for eggs. We had to ask the cook who appeared to finish off the eggs ! Apart from the delay the breakfast was good.

On arrival staff courteous / friendly. Loved the fact that I could use the swimming pool free as included in the room rate - room very comfortable, but very warm, despite portable air cooler units in the room. Breakfast terrific in the morning
