The Nyton  

About 10/15 mins walk from Ely rail station. The hotel has character and is set in lovely grounds. A few mins from Cathedral and city centre. Room well decorated... Clean, comfortable and spacious. Staff friendly and helpful. Good full English breakfast, together with cereals/toast etc.

Very good food a bit too much at times. Room was a family room for the same price as a single. Easy location for the cemtre or By pass road. Plenty of parking.

The Perfect Location. Lovely Hotel. Staff very friendly. Room clean with a lovely view of the gardens. Brilliant place for a weekend break.

Little disapointed with the evening Meal menu there was no change the two nights we were there.

The reception was friendly and helpfull,map of city provided and advice given on best route to Cathederal. Had just been 5 days at a Premier Inn in a noisy location,The Nyton was like a" Oasis of calm " Had a wonderfull nights sleep. Breakfast was excellent,taken looking out onto the garden watching the Squirrels. Would recommend.

We stayed at the Nyton as we were attending a wedding near by. The customer service was particularly lacking and we felt as if we were inconveniencing the staff by wanting to check in and out. Rooms were fine but pretty shabby in need of redecoration and pretty dusty. Would not return!

The Manager was charming and couldn't have been nicer. The beds were very comfortable and the room attractive with view of the beautiful garden. Very peaceful location but still convenient for the city centre

The person who greeted us (who also appeared to be the chef) was very miserable, not at all welcoming and made us feel uncomfortable. We had a shower with our room but would have preferred a bath. However, the tiling in the shower was in such an appalling state that it put me off using it at all.

The room that we had was very spacious and comfortable and as the hotel was set back from the road there was very little noise. Although at the time of our visit the hotel was quiet the food (both breakfast and evening meal) was well presented and tasted good.

There appeared to be little in the way of staff, presumably to keep the costs down, but on occasions the General Manager seemed to be flitting from one thing to another (reception, bar, kitchen and dining room) which may not always give the right impression. However this did not detract from our overall enjoyment of our stay.

The breakfast was ok

I booked a family room with single occupancy and was given a cupboard which the hotel classed as a single room. The room curtains did not fit the window so was flooded with sunlight from daybreak at around 4:00am.I Originally booked for 2 nights but was then called to be told they could only fit me in for 1 night and they found me a guest house nearby which was a blessing in disguise as it was more comfortable and the owners were very nice.

Bedroom very clean and tidy. (See below). Very comfortable bed with lovely very clean cotton sheets. (I know some people do not like cotton, I do) Breakfast room very clean and tidy.

The gloss paint in the bedroom was very chipped and tired, especially around the window. Otherwise very good, but I don't think the bedroom is 'still' up to aa 4*, but it was value for money, considering what they charge. I would still recommend it to friends. The extractor fan for the kitchen under the window of bedroom four is noisy, especially when it comes on and wakes you up at 6.30am, but I got back to sleep. This is just a minor moan! Probably would not wake others! It was hot and I had the windows open.
