When we checked out. The breakfast was good but was the only acceptable part of our stay. Room was old, tired and dirty. Lack of electricity and a use of a hot shower made our stay very uncomfortable and we were charged full price for the privilege! To top it all off we were shown to a breakfast table that had already been used that morning and was covered in crumbs!

About 10/15 mins walk from Ely rail station. The hotel has character and is set in lovely grounds. A few mins from Cathedral and city centre. Room well decorated... Clean, comfortable and spacious. Staff friendly and helpful. Good full English breakfast, together with cereals/toast etc.

Free wi-fi Having booked a double room I was suprised to be given a single. The room smelled of stale cigarette smoke even though the room was non smoking. The bed was really uncomfortable. Not great.

Parking Location for Ely centre Choice of haddock at breakfast. Great Wi Fi connection Room was a bit down at heel, with flaking paint. Small shower and uncomfortable bed (single room). Haddock was the dyed type, not naturallly smoked. I should have asked before ordering so blame myself. Exellent poached eggs with it. The hotel is not dirty, but the whole place could do with a good polish up inside and out. My room was in need of re decoration. I have stayed in significantly better hotels and some worse at the same price.

I enjoyed by stay. The room was fine, and the breakfast was very good. It is an attractive building in its own gardens. The manager was friendly and helpful.

The reception was friendly and helpfull, map of city provided and advice given on best route to Cathederal. Had just been 5 days at a Premier Inn in a noisy location,The Nyton was like a" Oasis of calm " Had a wonderfull nights sleep. Breakfast was excellent, taken looking out onto the garden watching the Squirrels. Would recommend.

They had a parking lot It was an absolute rip off - paid £95 when it wasn't worth more than £30. Bathroom was grim and you certainly wouldn't want to walk barefoot on the carpet ... Service was absolutely dire for breakfast and when the food finally arrived it was inedible. If you have to stay in Ely I would strongly advise people to look for a b &b and avoid the Nyton "hotel"

Welcoming staff and excellent food. Convenient location for Ely - only about five minute walk to the cathedral. We had a double room that had been converted to en-suite. As a result the shower / toilet was very cramped although the rest of the room was more than adequate. Larger bath towels would have been a major improvement.

We stayed at the Nyton as we were attending a wedding near by. The customer service was particularly lacking and we felt as if we were inconveniencing the staff by wanting to check in and out. Rooms were fine but pretty shabby in need of redecoration and pretty dusty. Would not return!

Proximity to Ely city centre Very poor value for money. The room that we were given was uncomfortable in a roof space which was difficult to move about in, particularly in the showeroom/toilet. The hotel generally needed to be refurbished and looked "seedy". The manager could be heard arguing with his staff in the kitchen adjoining the breakfast room and seemed harassed and under pressure, trying to do everything. On each evening after about 9.30, the hotel lobby and bar/restaurant area was in darkness with no staff about. There were echoes of Fawlty Towers. Overall not a positive experience.

Breakfast was good. Grounds were lovely. One of the twin beds very old and uncomfortable. Bathroom very dated - shower head had toilet paper stuffed round it to stop it leaking and toilet seat was broken.

The room that we had was very spacious and comfortable and as the hotel was set back from the road there was very little noise. Although at the time of our visit the hotel was quiet the food (both breakfast and evening meal) was well presented and tasted good. There appeared to be little in the way of staff, presumably to keep the costs down, but on occasions the General Manager seemed to be flitting from one thing to another (reception, bar, kitchen and dining room) which may not always give the right impression. However this did not detract from our overall enjoyment of our stay.

Good surroundings, garden, lounge, this has the potentiality to be a good hotel. Room a bit basic, no shampoo provided, needs a new mattress, milk for coffee gone off, generally costs and corners have been cut. At £ 65 way over-priced.

The breakfast was ok I booked a family room with single occupancy and was given a cupboard which the hotel classed as a single room. The room curtains did not fit the window so was flooded with sunlight from daybreak at around 4:00am.I Originally booked for 2 nights but was then called to be told they could only fit me in for 1 night and they found me a guest house nearby which was a blessing in disguise as it was more comfortable and the owners were very nice.
