COLD and uncomfortable
The staff were very friendly and was on a large site that looked really nice.
The door handle was sticky and the toilet needed flushing when we entered the room. The lighting was poor and we expected there to be a mini bar also the breakfast was just ok.
Poor staff, inefficient and surly. Room ridiculously hot. Would not stay again, should be shut down.
We booked this hotel for Valentine's Night. We didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment on those. The room we had was in The Ridings (an outbuilding away from main house) and it was absolutely lovely! The room felt clean and looked great. The bathroom was unbelievable - clean and modern! (More a wet room than bathroom due to walk in shower with glass screen) there was a constant supply of hot water which is always a bonus! The room had heating as well as air conditioning so would be great any time of year. Couldn't fault our stay! Would recommend to anyone and we're going to book again for my birthday the end of March :)
The location was very nice and exciting
The room I did not like, it was very tiny room and there wasn't no space to walk around the room. Some of the lights wasn't working in the room so it was very dark.
very comfortable bed - decent sized room.
some of the furnishings looked a little stained and tired. The bathroom wasn't hotel clean - marks on the bath. Kettle full of limescale. No biscuits on the hospitality tray or coffee sachets. One would expect better in relation to the price of the rooms.
Very relaxed atmosphere with plenty of public space. Range and quality of food really good. Prices on a par with large hotel chains.
This is a conference/function venue rather than a hotel but with several events going on everyone mixed together quite naturally so, not really a problem.
Staff did the minimum acceptable and gave directions for the lift, the lift wasn't working and looked like it hadn't been for some time, therefore your staff should get there act together. First impression count and mine wasn't a good one
Good size room. Comfortable bed. Food.
Decor in the corridors etc in need of a refurbishment. Bar, reception, lounge area not that welcoming or relaxing.
The bed was very comfortable, the room was dark with no light streeming through the door from the corridor
No lift so I had to carry my bags through a maze of corridors and climb lots of flights of stairs.
Quiet. Clean. Easy access to London.
Walk to room in The Ridings over to main building ( it was early January )
Staff very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable rooms were spacious. Ideally located, and beautiful surroundings
Stairway was rather tired and dirty. Bathroom in our room had a lingering smell of cigarette smoke. For what we paid would have expected breakfast to be included in price
The room was nice
The heating system was a bit old. The barman was miserable
Comfortable bed, good facilities, friendly staff and a good price.
Heating was on cold all night and the staff at front reception didn't know how to turn it on to warm.
The staff was polite and helpful. The location was good The breakfast was good The dinner was ok The room was clean and tidy
The room wasn't secure The room door lock wasn't working. Once inside the room door there was no security. We couldn't lock the door Safety was an issue at night Night latch also was wonky and coming off. No action was taken after being reported
A pleasure to have such attentive staff, at any time! All smiling and willing. Becky was most helpful on our morning of checkout. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Facilities in room and throughout the hotel were excellent, and lets not forget the amazing grounds/ building views.
It's a shame that check out is "early" in the week. (10.30am)
We got a good price because the hotel wasn't busy The breakfast and room service were excellent
Asked for an upgrade as they weren't busy and were given a room with a 'good view' but it was miles away in the mansion house up several flights of stairs. Whilst the facilities and the room were clean, the windows were filthy, which spoiled the view somewhat! Also the Perspex chandelier was very dusty and the bathroom high ceilings had several trailing cobwebs. We did bring this to the attention of the hotel on checkout and they said they would inspect the room immediately.
Staff very freindly. Generally very good and I would potentially book again and recommend to freinds and family.
A slight smell as we entered the room, which dissipated or we got used to it after a while. Hallways a bit shabby, the lift was not working. Could not get the free WiFi working
Arrived to 3 police cars and a hallway that stunk of marajana. The hotel is very old and shabby now and the tv surround in our room was broken and fell off the wall twice. Food at the bar took 45 mins for nachos all in all not impressed after paying £60 the travel lodge would have been better value for money booked 4 star for a bit of luxury and never got that
Location and grounds, size of room, good parking.
The smell in the corridor and room smelt as if someone had been smoking cigars. When I requested a change of kettle because of 'black bits' inside kettle, maybe insect eggs, the exchanged was completed quickly, the lid of the new kettle was loose and steam burnt your hand when pouring water unless you were very careful.
Telephone reception poor
The hotel is really nice the staff are really helpful to
