Very good,
Score from 44 reviews
A delightful family run country hotel, just 15 minutes from Bath and Wells. It is in the beautiful countryside with restaurant, lounge/bar, free parking and delightful views from all rooms. Built in 1835 as a Malt House for the local Radford brewery, The Old Malt House Hotel is now privately owned. It is in the small hamlet of Radford surrounded by beautiful countryside, just 6 miles from the historic city of Bath. From the moment you set foot in The Old Malt House, you will be greeted with a warm, friendly welcome. The accommodations include 10 tastefully decorated bedrooms, all of which have private bathtub/shower rooms, TVs, tea and coffee making facilities and stunning views out over the countryside. Two of the twin rooms are on the first floor giving easier access for guests who are less mobile. The hotel has a fully licensed restaurant and cozy lounge bar with open fire place. In the restaurant, there is a full menu and a comprehensive selection of wines, all of which are well-priced. During the summer months, the terrace with its stunning views through the Cam Valley is the perfect setting for you to enjoy a drink before or after your meal. It was a picturesque setting yet was convenient to the park and ride I needed to use for work. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The food was really good, and reasonably priced too. The only thing I would have liked is wifi as it would have been very useful for working in the evenings.

Excellent staff, wonderful food. I really enjoyed the civilized dining experience where they took our order in the lounge and came to get us when our meal was ready. Great service!!

Quiet location but just minutes away from all the things the traveller would require in the area. The universally heralded Bath Park and Ride, Radstock Museum and wonderful countryside walks. Immediately made welcome by my hosts and genuinely left feeling that I had made some very good friends. It was obvious that my hosts would stop at nothing to make my stay memorable - and it was. A great find an one I would have regretted missing. Honestly could not find fault if I tried. The only drawback is that I want to go back and time and commitments disagree.

Very friendly and hepful staff and owners. The weather had been cold so electric fires were placed in each room to supplement the heating. Fresh milk provided for use with the room based tea and coffee making. Very well furnished room and comfortable bed. Very good food at breakfast and dinner. The dining room was a little impersonal; vertical blinds at the windows and plain walls apart from one mirror. Improved with flowers on the tables after valentines day.

Cosy and friendly, very comfortable bed and superb bed linen - it really makes a difference. As I stayed as part of a business trip I missed a desk or other place to work in the room. The hotel and bar were very quiet at this time of year and so they didn't have enough custom to put or the real ale which was a shame,

Friendly, helpful reception, good communication, good food, nice people. Entrance door gave bad first impression. Minor underfloor water leak onto bedroom carpet was unfortunate.

We needed to attend a wedding at 1230 at nearby Cameley. Allowed us to book in at 1100 with all 4 rooms cleaned and ready. Set up for gluten free diets.

It was a lovely family run friendly hotel, I was made to feel very welcome and the owners were lovely. While the service was good I felt the food let's them down. But would recommended it to anyone and I will be going back again for a leisure stay rather than a working stay next time. I felt the food while not awful could have just been that bit better I ate dinner and breakfast on my second night and it was cold. The table mats were also vert dirty and stained and while ok for breafast think when you are paying £16.00 for a main course they could be better.

The Old Malt House is a very friendly, very clean, lovely place to stay. It was particularly good for us as we are a family of five and it can be quite hard to find hotels/B&B's that have enough room.

The hotel was set in pleasant countryside, and a short drive from a major city; it had a family feel to it, and the staff were very accommodating.

From the time we arrived, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Jen and David always went out of thier way to give advise on the area and any other general questions we had. The room was spotless and the meals exceptional. We are already planning our next visit. First class!!!

It was a most comfortable stay. Room 6 was an ample double room we could relax in. The breakfast was wonderful. The only small thing that would be an investment of c.£80 - would be to renew the 24 table mats in the dining room. New ones would make such a difference!!
