The setting, the friendly helpful staff, the gardens, the food all very good. Comfortable room, nice outlook. Lovely to walk and sit in the garden after a long day's work. Excellent breakfasts. Look forward to returning next year. Furnishings quite dowdy but other guests loved them as being "oldy worldy" and quirky!

The staff in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast were excellent. My husband and I missed breakfast because the bedside clock hadn't been put one hour forward but the lady waitress made us breakfast very late and it was no trouble to her. Also I left my room key in car at location away from hotel, we phoned the hotel reception and the owner/manager let us in very late and he was patient and pleasant - not cross with us. Lovely rooms - not impersonal like a hotel room - quirky! It was the worst shower/water pressure I have ever experienced in a hotel. That said it did make us laugh!

Everywhere you looked there was something of interest, even when walking around the grounds. a summery word....querky. the staff deserve a mention, very friendly and seemed they really wanted you to enjoy your stay. Our room had a four poster , and left little room around. But that's about it.

Manager a real gem, gave us an upgrade- printed bus timetables, showed us on google earth the bus stop, Bath and bus station couldn't have been more helpful. Ate in, some waiting staff excellent, however others were not as good we never got asked if our meal was ok? Or if we wanted sauces- we were offered the pudding menu but it never arrived and we got bored and left. Food was "ok" could have been hotter.

The room was well furnished and the bed was extremely comfortable. I enjoyed the dinner in the restaurant, and breakfast was excellent. The restaurant looked a bit sparse without table cloths.

Homely and welcoming, just a shame it was for business and I was on my own. Would have liked to have my wife along if there again The sign on the road wasn't very visible, there's no light so I did drive past the entrance on my first visit. Not a huge issue but might be worth considering sticking a light near to it.

The owners/management were friendly and helpful. Our room was very large with a separate sitting room area and a large bathroom, more like a suite than a double room. It was thoughtfully decorated, spotless, very quiet and warm - wonderful after a quite stressful Christmas Day caring for our elderly mother/mother-in-law with dementia. There were lots of people staying for the Christmas festivities and all looked very relaxed and comfortable with their holiday. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to q wide range of people for a very comfortable place to stay in a quite strategic position for all sorts of activities.

I liked staying at the hotel, it was not what we expected but we would definitely stay there again. The staff were more than helpful and very friendly, the breakfast was very nice. The only thing that put us both off was whom we presumed was the owner of the hotel (due to him saying his wife had bought the old dress in reception area) as we arrived he wheel spun past us before getting out of a Maserati car!! For safety reasons we were glad we didn't have our children with us!!
