Most of the facilities were really nice, good location for a relaxing weekend.Staff were really nice and helpful.
The restaurant was nicely distributed, but the food quantity was disappointing. The value for money was not exactly high in my opinion.
Visiting family nearby we had a last minute deal so our overnight stay was great value. Spacious, beautifully furnished room, good night's sleep and delicious breakfast. We loved this hotel and will definitely return.
There was nothing we didn't like.
Rural location; distinctive period flavour of the hotel; amply furnished and comfortable bedroom; freshly cooked and tasty breakfast; generous bathroom towels; a splendid TV with plenty of channels plus a DVD player; admirable service all round. Outstanding value!
Would have welcomed greater choice of bread and some cheese at breakfast but this did not detract from an ample breakfast!
Very friendly and attentive staff. Very good food. Nice atmosphere.
Lots of character, good breakfast with very friendly helpful staff
No showers although shower attachment on bath taps, but no shower curtain. However at less than £70 for double room & breakfast we were v satisfied overall.
Friendly helpful staff great breakfast comfortable bed.very reasonable price last minute and lovely atmosphere
Room rather too small, no wardrobe, bathroom radiator didnt work...
Friendly staff, nothing too much trouble, lovely location beautiful gardens, thankyou to everyone for a very pleasant stay
As always with hotels, not enough milk for tea or coffee, a minor point and not to the detriment of the hotel or staff, as I'm sure they would have been more than helpful in correcting this.
Splendid environment, lovely rooms, and one of the best meals we've had in years. We'd heard about the high quality of the restaurant, and were delighted to have it exceed our expectations. The environmental sustainability emphasis in the hotel and restaurant's operation was genuine and refreshing.
Reception staff were nice and polite, but also seemed a bit rushed, which is out of kilter for such a pleasant, genteel environment, and slightly off-putting when you arrive and depart.
Staff were friendly
Bedroom poorly decorated window double glazed full of condensation, two ceiling lights no surround, bathroom really old suite with hand held shower.all really looked worn and shabby, no towel rail or anywhere to put luggage. Food very expensive and not that good. A very disappointing stay.
good food and good service, very friendly
This is a fabulous hotel. It has charm, character, fabulous food, great wine and a complete absence of corporate insincerity. Oh that this was the default model for hostelry.
Nothing, complaints would seem churlish. If every modern detail that consumerism craves was provided, then the charm would be lost.
Very helpful and cheerful staff. Good choice of food in restaurant which was delicious. Wonderful breakfast in the morning. We would certainly return.
Really happy staff. Comfy bed. Great food.
Room was comfortable, very clean & tastefully decorated. Dinner in the Milking Parlour was excellent and good portions and staff very attentive and friendly
Cooked breakfast was very disappointing compared to the standard of the meal we had there the previous evening.!! Didn't want everything that was in the English breakfast so just chose the items I liked, portions were meagre and streaky bacon for breakfast???!! I don't think so, we are not in the USA!!! Only downside to dinner was that table was booked for 8pm and were not shown to our table until 840pm
The Old Manor House is a beautiful building. The breakfast was very good. The location is good for Longleat.
The water was cold!
Rooms have a farmhouse feel, very comfortable, restaurant was first class with a wide ranging menu and the staff couldn't do enough, went for a relaxing break in the countryside and this hotel and service ticked all the boxes, will certainly book again
Locality of room to restaurant meant we were able to dine whilst our little one slept, have a baby monitor on and see the room from our table. Amazing Staff were very friendly and food amazing.
Room was fairly dated and for over a £100 with out breakfast we felt the price wasn't justified.
Unfortunately we had children sleeping alone in the next room having asked if there were children staying at the hotel we were told no only to find out they were checked in as adults complained but owners not replied!!
Very pretty hotel with gorgeous little rooms. We didn't visit the bar or restaurant so would l love to go back and try these out. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.
Rooms were absolutely lovely only negative is walls are a little thin. If you have loud neighbours you can hear them slightly. I would visit the hotel again, so this definitely isn't a deal breaker, just something to consider if you are a light sleeper
Four Poster period room was filled with Character, my wife loved the roll top caste iron bath. The evening menu and service was superb! Breakfast was relaxed and a good quality.
Nothing, we will book again if visiting the area!
Excellent service at breakfast good reception staff
Noisy room - room 12
The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed about the local area. He also upgraded our room as we arrived which was very kind. Our room was in the main house, it was a beautiful space and had great views over the fields. A highlight for us was great complementary products in the bathroom. I will definitely be back again.
Our bathroom door had a large gap underneath it so you could hear people walking past and talking in the corridor.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Ideal location for Bradford on Avon and Bath.
Slightly dated bathroom although it was clean.
Everything about this place was absolutely perfect. Especially wonderful was the food; their onsite restaurant served the most beautiful, creative, healthy and enjoyable breakfasts and dinners, and I say that as someone who eats really well. The accommodations, the setting, the staff....all just spectacular. Can't recommend the place highly enough!
Not being able to stay longer!
