Very comfortable and clean. A charming English pub/B&B atmosphere conveniently located within minutes of both Bath and Bristol, but in a much smaller, picturesque community.

Friendly, comfortable, good breakfast. Having Orbital & Underworld playing during breakfast was rather strange but rather that then the usual Europop played at most hotels.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, it all had a nice feel about it. If you like old beams and feel history is around you, then this is for you. Due to age and position of this hotel it has not got a large car park but there are 2 spaces at the rear and an inner courtyard for secure parking if you wish. At first you may think car parking could be a problem but on my experience I need not have worried as the staff were most helpful and opened the security gate to allow me to drive into the secure courtyard. At a last resort there is a Tesco Park behind the hotel where free parking is available after 6pm.

This was our second stay at The old Manor House Hotel and as before all of the staff were very polite, welcoming, and cheer full. Once again the room we had The Eave Suite was clean and comfortable. The food in the main restaurant whilst only offering a limited selection of main courses is extremely good and reasonably priced; complements to the chef. The hotel is ideally placed for Bristol and Bath making it a good choice for us. We will most certainly be back again later this year We were a little disappointed to find that the restaurant is not open on Sunday evenings

Always a warm welcome, very attentive staff, comfy rooms (although the room at the very top can take a while to warm up when it's below freezing outside) and probably the best hotel food I have had anywhere. First Class Brasserie food prepared with care and attention to detail. Worth a visit for the food alone! Nice to be able to sit down with the chef after dinner to thank him, and I find every detail about the hotel first rate. Thoroughly recommended. There is very little parking, but after 6pm until 8am you can use the nearby supermarket car park. Outside those hours, the Supermarket reserve the right to charge £70 parking, so you need to park further away.

First and best was the welcome and the friendliness and efficiency of the staff they were all excellent from owner down to reception, bar, restaurant, kitchen and hosekeeping staff we saw them all at some stage or other. Secondly, the lovely old world charm brought up to date with clever and sympathetic renovation to produce historical surroundings in a modern time. Temperature throughout building on the rather cool side even for men so my wife and I suspect women in general would feel the cold more. Think Hotel should write in to council to move the red phone box from the corner - surely health & safety. Surely must be awkward manouvre for wheel chairs and larger pushchairs/prams in particular coming from parking area or teh big shops!.

The receptionist was very kind. The room was extremely clean. I liked the interior of the bar and diningroom and the gorgeous old floor tiles in the hallway. The hotel is decorated very tastefully. The bar staff were very friendly. I didn't eat an evening meal in the hotel, having already made other plans. The same receptionist who was very kind, was also extremely quick at serving breakfast, but a vegetarian alternative to a full English breakfast would be a nice addition to the breakfast menu _ just giving the option of vegetarian sausages would be useful. I would certainly consider staying at the hotel again & have already recommended it to others. No bathroom curtains or blind for my ground floor bathroom & Tesco's lights shone through the window all night long. Also, as a single female traveller I didn't feel as safe in my room as I would have done if there had been blinds or curtains in the bathroom. I didn't use the bathroom light because I felt I was overlooked from the outside so fell over the step which ran the length of the bathroom. The bed was very hard. The parking seemed to be in a small area with a wheel clamping sign so I parked outside a friend's house instead. The towels don't need to be left on the bed, they could be left in the bathroom instead. A hairdryer in the room would have been useful.

The bedroom was everything you expect from a good quality hotel. The only disappointment was, having met family and coming back to the hotel just after nine for a quite nightcap, to find the bar shut.

Nice old building Basically, I was very dissapointed. - very loud, you can hear everything from all the rooms closeby - very low water pressure, impossible to have a shower - very uncomfortable bed - Internet wasn't warking - no parking (which was announced) - you could park at Tesco car park as long as you park after 6 pm and leave before 10 am, no idea where to park in between, hotel itself has ONE space - breakfast finishes at 8.30 am, too early indeed - yogurts are not available for breakfast

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The owners were hands on. Food was very good and competetive in price. Rooms were comfortable. Overall the hotel would rate as a 9 out of 10 within its grade. My colleagues also felt it worth entering the website blogg to recommend the hotel. We will almost certainly be revisiting at again when visiting Bath. Steve Harman Bornemouth

“Gorgeous quiet location surrounded by lovely gardens. We didn't have time to make use of tennis courts etc but again, lovely setting for a tennis match.
