We treated friends for a 70th birthday celebration. We just loved everything about it and as our friend has an interest of trains of all kinds he absolutely loved it.
Comfortable facilities. An appreciable amount of railway nostalgia. Excellent breakfast. Central to interesting venues and surroundings.
Pub dinner venues found to be rather 'shabby chic'. Platform breakfast venue could be made more interesting with the addition of bird nut or seed feeders placed near the track hedge to attract the smaller birds. We were very fortunate with the fine weather but in wet weather things could have been quite different.
The whole experience
Nothing to dislike
Unique location charming staff. Easy access to delightful inns and pubs close to th sea
Novelty factor but with luxurious touches Manageress was a diamond Breakfast on platform in sunshine - who needs to go abroad
A truly unique experience. Welcoming, and a short walk to the Pub for dinner with friends. Breakfast service was first class. A special change from international sameness.
The staff, the garden was very pretty
The rooms were very small, very hot and very expensive. I am disappointed that you rated this venue so highly. There was no value for money, didn't even receive an itemised account. Would not recommend
Excellent location. Quirky accommodation in the Pullman coaches but very comfortable. The attention to detail. The breakfasts could not be faulted
The ambience of the old station and carriages. The friendliness of staff.
The carriages both internally and externally are showing signs of decay. Some 'repairs' are of poor quality (sealant instead of replaced wood, a piece of wood behind the toilet cistern down pipe, mould on the plastic water pipes, tap casing loose, a chair that was coming apart). Still enjoyed the place though.
The most imaginative transformation of an old station. Superb garden.
We loved the idea of having breakfast out on the old station. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. we would recommend this place to family and friends.
Unique accommodation surrounded by countryside and with a beautiful garden. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.
Nothing not to like.
The fact it was different place to a "normal" hotel! Was lovely staying in an old carriage!
Nice greeting at this unique bed and breakfast hotel. Very comfortable lounge and breakfast room. Also outdoor tables and chairs on old station platform for use when weather suitable. Lovely bedroom and unexpected roomy bathroom.
Beautiful lounge and rooms that gives you the feel that you've travelled back to the days of the Orient Express. Great breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful garden.
This was beautifully restored, quality fittings and well kept. The bed was really comfortable. Plenty of room in the carriage. Fans if you were hot, heaters if you were cold. Choice of teabags, coffee and hot chocolate - plus biscuits refilled every morning. Lovely helpful staff. Gorgeous setting and surroundings. Delicious breakfast. Pub 5 minutes walk away for evening food. Just brilliant!
Loved our railway carriage!Compact but lovely!Breakfast was delicious!
all of it
Nice welcome, comfortable, polite staff, quirky place to stay
location , nice and quiet friendly staff lovely atmosphere
the pub/restaurant next door The Badger very disappointed.
This is a great romantic spot for a getaway, especially for those with an interest in railways. The place simply oozes atmosphere.
The staff seemed disinterested at best, surly at worst. The lady who served us breakfast couldn't break a smile. We asked for some yoghurt to go with our fruit, and her response was simply ‘I don't have any'
A lovely way to celebrate our anniversary-a touch of bygone elegance!!
A too quiet a location for us to stay in so we went into Chichester for the day for some retail therapy.
such a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble,
