Liked the location of the hotel and being able to walk into Harrogate town centre
Reporting faults to hotel staff and not having them acted upon!
Bed failing, had to use telephone cable to hold together, hotel informed but nothing done. Blood splattered lamp shade. TV faulty
Leaving to go home
The view from our window was on to a building site which housed a huge crane and containers. The window didn't open fully and the room was too hot. The bathroom was tiny and you couldn't swing a cat.
warm friendly hotel & staff - efficient good bar lounge area restaurant service & food excellant
Enjoyed our stay everything was very good.
Shower curtain over Bath very restricting, Damp patch on ceiling from room above.
Parking fine on the hotel car park 45mins after check-in!
Location good for the conference. Parking improved, nice to see the build & décor of the period in which it was built, kind of a nice change from the modern norm
The rooms were baking hot. Had the window open for 3 days as the radiator adjustment was behind a panel & could not be reached. Bathroom was a little on the tight side. Nice to have a bath in the room, but could fit in very little else - nowhere even to put a wash bag. Bar being renovated while we were there, so limited areas to meet & socialise for business & general socialising.
I loved the personal service, from front desk to chambermaid, restaurant to bar. I like the comfort and cleanliness. I've stayed at the Old Swan before and I was delighted to return. I'll be back later this year, I hope.
The lights over the bathroom mirror and bathtub didn't work.
Friendly, helpful staff, lovely restaurant with excellent food. The hotel is ideally situated near the main shopping area. Great weekend stay.
Position and parking
No prior advice that renovation was under way and cold expensive food
Room was very comfortable,lovely hotel.
There was an Antiques fair on at the hotel so parking was a bit of an issue, however we managed to park eventually
People and friendliness. Food good.
Bed and hot room.
good location friendly staff clean free parking
mattress was lumpy hotel is very tired looking cooked breakfast tasted peculiar and under done but couldnt be bothered complaining as we were in a hurry! toast was cold. bar was closed for refurb (rest of hotel should be too)
Everything ,apart from the first room we were allocated in .
The money we paid did not reflect in the room we were given ,but the staff were very helpful in relocating us to a better room
The old fashioned style. Not like other hotels...all the same and bland.
It needed attention to decoration in places. A piece of art might have been a nice touch. the carpet in room 235 did not fit to the wall.
Bar area souless. Cream paintwork and rather shabby decor prefer tea area to be away from bar area as smelling beer and drinking tea not great together Bedrooms very old fashioned - clean but lacking in atmosphere.
position of Hotel
poor decor in need of a face lift
Location was excellent. The receptionist was very helpful at check-in especially organising a taxi and warning us about the efficiency of the local traffic wardens. Breakfast was good.
The shower was too hot almost to the point of scalding and couldn't be adjusted.
Very quiet room. Excellent breakfast. Reasonable bar prices inc. one real ale.
Watery orange juice at breakfast. Limited number of poorly positioned mains power outlets in bedroom.
Location was good.
Décor of rooms was very drab and tired. Needed some refurb.
The location is good for the shops and Conference Centre plus there is parking. The restaurant is excellent and the lounge/bar areas very relaxing. The staff are welcoming and attentive.
It was quite cold in the rooms in the evening and certainly not warm enough to sit and watch TV or write. I know now why there was a fur throw in the wardrobe.
Good value for money. Good location. Nice breakfast.
Having to put a parking permit in car windscreen in the hotel car park. Received a parking ticket within half an hour of arriving.
Liked the hotel abit oldfashioned but great rooms lovely staff
Poached egg was hard not runny but our evening meal was good
The building and its location
The fact that we were woke up several times in the early hours of the morning by people talking loudly in the corriodor and banging their doors when entering and leaving their rooms. Also on Sunday breakfast is served 07.30 to 10.30, we went for ours at 09.20 only to find most items had gone and hadn't been replaced, we only managed to get some orange juice after 3 times of asking!!!
