Big bathroom. Decent bed.
Small bedroom that was too hot and stuffy. It's an old hotel (but not in a sort of cool, classy way). The breakfast was horrible. It's very expensive for what I got. I'd wanted to book somewhere else but it was a bank holiday weekend and not many options.
Expensive Bathroom horrid and not up to standard Car park
Room, bar area, location,and staff.
Restaurant was very poor.Dusty room.Small bathroom for a suite.
Location. As a Christie fan a chance to visit her hideaway should have been an ideal anniversary gift
Extremely sloping floor and bed - plus ill fitting door allowing room to be illuminated ALL night, not conducive to a good nights sleep. No ventilation in room resulting in running damp on bedroom and bathroom windows as sash windows inoperable. Room 271 check it out!!
Excellent location. Spacious rooms. Large dining room. Friendly staff.
Room was very cold but that may have been due to the outside temperature being unseasonally low. Service a bit hit and miss at breakfast due to size of dining room and low number of staff.
Cheap glasses, etc. in the restaurant. General impression is that it has seen better days and would benefit from refurbishment.
Beautiful creaky old hotel. Easy access to town and exhibition centre.
Room was a bit shabby- marks on the wall etc.
Close to town centre. Comfortable bar area and friendly helpful staff.
Poor breakfast and presentation of breakfast. Toilet broke on last morning and wouldn't flush. Could do with a bit of TLC.
Suggestion for Health and Safety. The bathrooms/showers could have grab rails at waist level particularly for your elderly guests where their balance could be a problem, as I discovered.
Cleanliness, staff where very professional and helpful,Breakfast was amazing. Great location plenty to see. Afternoon tea was also amazing, and bar prices very very reasonable
The staff seemed courteous, and a young man actually carried our bags up to the room which was very nice, and we thanked him for his service
The fact that the lift was out of order on 2 occasions, and being disabled was a real pain, in the real sense of the word.Perhaps it would be a good idea to have more spaces for disabled drivers.
Old feel to the place. Big bathroom Comfy bed
No tea or coffee facilities in the room No wifi in the rooms, i wouldn expect this to be free for the price of the room not as clean as I would of liked Breakfast was very poor Breakfast tables were all full of dirty pots for the whole time we were having our breakfast
Help from staff when we needed it .When Jim was poorly and needed medical help. Thank you.
Spacious room Ensuite very good Breakfast very good - choice and quality Decoration traditional but not over-fussy
Small point - little shelf room in ensuite
friendly staff,good food,Ambience,
the lounge and bar , the food and choice
Location to shops sights and restaurants is excellent.
EVERYTHING WAS BRILLIANT
Beautiful Hotel in a great location, rooms were a little on the small side but we did get a great deal.
Staff and Service, it is a big hotel with functions on most days, so why is there never enough staff to cover, we had to ask repeatedly to order drinks on the arrival afternoon and breakfast the next morning which does not make for a relaxing break.
Traditional hotel with interesting history. Centrally located within easy walking distance of all main attractions.
Breakfast in the original Palm Lounge from A.C. times was a treat but slightly spoiled by disinterested waiters.
Comfort and the location
Old world charm and style of the hotel Elegance of the decoration; building and fittings The service of the staff
The hotel was in a good location and clean.
I didn't dislike the hotel I just think there are better hotels in the area at similar prices
The hotel is situated in a superb location , hotel is very comfy and the staff are very helpful and polite. The hotel is very clean. The hotel is packed of intresting history, the grounds are very well maintained, ample parking , easy accsess to the town centre and all the local amenities.
