Score from 631 reviews Very good
Beds comfortable. Nice room. In good position for getting into Bournemouth centre, was within walking distance.
We were allocated accommodation in the Orchid Gardens Hotel. Entrance gloomy and not very welcoming. Toilet roll holder broken and water came over side of bath onto floor when having a shower, as shower screen didn't fit. Thought it was a full English breakfast, but was only continental. Didn't say this on hotel information.
The staff were very nice indeed especially Robin? he was from Rome I think very nice and pleasant
I didn't like that I had to sit in the bar to get wifi as it would not work in the room. I thought it would have done food there during the day and at night but it did not although it is in a good location with plenty good restaurants within walking distance
Location Good variety of breakfast choices comfortable beds
Towels were too small for adults and poor quality Room size was cramped for twin beds Room was located next to outdoor seating for general use, including smokers
Felt like you are in your own home
Sink was fairly blocked
continental breakfast was very good and was a pleasant change to the usual full english
room 220 is just awful....... no hot water on second day we stayed!!!!!!you try having a cold shower!!!!!
daily refresh of tea milk coffee and sugar.close to town centre
shower holder broken.extractor fan not working looked like been broken for quite a while.

Lift didn't work, shower was scalding hot one day, freezing the next, sockets hanging off the wall
Large room Comfy beds Great location
Old building so very creaky from neighbours especially upstairs Shower was terrible No room specific heating - very cold at times.
Location good,Breakfast good,Rooms clean enough & nice friendly staff.
Hotel going through refurb so was noisy at times.
2nd time staying here. reception has been revamped since last visit but rooms, corridors and general appearance looks tired. good budget hotel and convenience for the city centre and theatres is excellent. you get what you pay for and won't be disappointed.
Decor was tired. fresh mushrooms and not tinned ones at breakfast please!
Close to city
To many stairs to room way out of the back

Room/ toilet facility was really clean. Staff polite and helpful.
WIFI did not work at all in my room. It seems that it only works in the reception area.
Good Location Budget/Value
Run Down Smells of Bleach Rude Staff
The best thing about the hotel was a lady called paloma she gave great service and should be an example to other staff members
We viewed the hotel online and and booked based on the orchid hotel. Because we had chosen the basic double we were moved to the orchid gardens across the road. This looked poor from the outside and room was poor and bathroom was tiny and smelled of urine and poo. We moved over to the hotel after complaining
Clean room with tv and wifi available Polite receptionist who was helpful with providing a heater because radiator wasn't working Good choice of food for continental breakfast
very creaky floorboards small shower room
Nothing to like, bad smell in bathroom, no heating awful breakfast and uncomfortable bed in a tiny room. Over the road looked much nicer felt stitched up after seeing this.
The room was fantastic! Extremely homey! The options for breakfast was very wide, which gave myself and my friend the perfect yummy breakfast .
In a secluded, quiet setting, the location is excellent for visiting the town, the seafront, the cliffs etc. on foot. The bar, restaurant and lounge areas are cosy and comfortable.
Good location, and nice breakfast for the price.
All needed a bit of updating.
