Central location, good value, friendly helpful staff gave us the choice of sea front or larger rear room on an upper floor. Would stay here again. Not a major complaint but the windows were not doubled glazed which meant that you could hear some noise from outside which is why we chose the room at the back. Some noise from other guests could be heard closing doors and moving around on upper floor. Only concern on health & safety side was when having a shower it was difficult to get a suitable temperature for the water from the two bath taps. Once you got a desirable temperature within a minute it went back to uncomfortably hot.

My dog was able to stay in the hotel room with me. The fact that breakfast was not included in the room cost.

A big, traditional, undemanding hotel in an ideal position, with attentive service by Sandra the waitress. Need for attention in room No.15: Leaking shower hose/head.

The location of the hotel is excellent and the view from our window overlooking Oban Bay was stunning. There is no lift in this hotel and you have to climb 89 steps to the top floor, as we are reasonably fit and were only staying two nights this was no real problem but for a longer stay with more luggage, especially for elderly people this would be a big problem. There was also a problem getting the correct temperature with the shower. We thought £8.50 per head for breakfast was excessive so ate at a good cafe nearby.

1. A great panoramic view of the sea, islands & busy Harbour 2. Right next to boat & bus terminals. 3. In the middle of the main shopping facilities. 1. The Booking Fee £9.60 was excessive, & cash taken from our account 2 months before we went there! 2. The cost of Breakfast @ £8.50 was excessive, even requesting Tea & Toast only was to cost £5.00 .... so we just went next door to a Restaurant for a Full Breakfast @ £2.99! 3. We didn't actually like having to ask for more tea bags & milk each day ... every day!

It was located in the centre of Oban and convenient for the town. It was very shabby and smelt very strongly of dogs.

The staff were very accommodating and gave us a choice of rooms. The room was bright and airy with a view of the harbor. The hotel is in an excellent location. . It would be good if breakfast were included in the price.

it was central, had lovely view, it was clean and it was reasonable. if i was going back there i wouldnt choose to have breakfast as i think it was over priced for what you got and also, if i was taking my mum for a break it would not be suitable as too many stairs.

It was in the centre of town and easily accessible for exploring the area whether on land or by sea. It was very comfortable and warm with a good selection for breakfast. I enjoyed it very much. I could not in all honesty say I did not like anything about this hotel.

Good location for the early morning ferry, which was cancelled due to weather! We had a rather crowded family room. Whilst clean and tidy the beds were desperately uncomfortable and the single sash window was so drafty it felt and sounded as though we were trying to sleep on the street. In mid- December that's not good! In the night the electric heater started sparking and crackling so had to turn it off and therefore we froze 'cos of aforementioned drafty window. All in all a disasterous hotel, reminded me of Fawlty Towers!

The locations was fantastic, and the breakfast was most enjoyable and had a great view fro the breakfast room. The bed was ok and the doona was good. Great hair dryer with extra long cord - yeah! 90 stairs to our room, bathroom ancient and the toilet seat broke completely whistle we were there. Very basic for price - too basic.

Excellent location and lovely views of the bay from our bedroom We were unimpressed by our room. The single bed rocked, there was a huge wet patch on the external wall under the window, the exterior paintwork was peeling, we could not get TV reception in our room or communal lounge, the shaver had a loose connection and my Dad couldn't get the shower to work. We stayed in 3 locations in Scotland during our week and given that this was the most expensive, we were surprised to be charged a further £8.50pp for a mediocre and limited breakfast on top. I don't eat meat and regard this amount as excessive for egg, toast, orange juice and coffee, given that we had already paid more for the 2 nights than we did in Glasgow and the Trossachs.

Great location for exploring the region. Lots of restaurants/services on doorstep. Friendly and helpful staff. Tea-making facilities in room.Room was well cleaned daily. The family room was too crowdwd for us. Bathroom also small. Price was the main problem 200 stg per night for room excluding breakfast. We had only one breakfast, service very slow so we went locally after that.

It ws clean .. plenty of hot water.. Overpriced - £120 per night breakfast not included .. for an attic broom cupboard with a damp patch on the ceiling 5 floors up (no lift or offer of help to carry bags) - . £5 per hour for wi-fi when every other hotel we have stayed at offers this service fee of charge. No parking available except in local authority park at 80p per hour. A bucket to catch rain drips in the corridor near our room reamained there long after it had stopped raining and constituted a trip hazard. Not happy about fire evacuatipn procedures .. no fire escape only exit via front door 89 steps down via central wooden staircase. Vey tatty furniture covered inadequately by cheap throws.

Proximity to ferry terminal. Residents' lounge overlooked harbour. Single room was tiny and oppressive. Impossible to spend any time other than sleeping there. Hotel charged full amount of my stay to my credit card on day of booking, although I wanted to pay in cash.

The room was not clean. Rain came in the window and dripped down the walls. The bed was barely sleep worthy. The shower was nearly non-existant. Oh, and the "free" internet was not free and was not available even if you paid, since the connection was so poor. We left early.
