The Park HotelPark Road, Teddington, Middlesex, TW11 0AB Twickenham (Show map) Good, Score from 279 reviews“Ease of getting into London. Very close to Teddington Rail Station, ideal!”
Phil,
Exeter
In the heart of Teddington, The Park Hotel is only yards from the mainline train station, High Street and Bushy Park. The Park Hotel has large double bedrooms with superb bathrooms. A few rooms have a large sofa bed for family use, while there are also specially adapted rooms for disabled guests. The Park Cafe Bar Restaurant serves delicious, freshly prepared food all day. There is also a bar/brasserie area, where guests can enjoy the leather sofas and cocktails, wines, or simply a cappuccino and sandwich. Guests can eat at discounted rates at the restaurant. booked this hotel on behalf of my parents who came down to celebrate my birthday. However I was not impressed to hear the feedback from them with regard to the cleaniness of the room. The bed itself they said was perfect, and the sheets were all perfectly clean, but the rest of the room was a disappointment. They also said the room was far too hot and the air con was blowing out lots of dust so they couldn't keep it on. I picked this hotel due to the fact that I work for LGC and we use the Park on a regular basis for external visitors. I hope this was a one off issue and that this won't happen again. many thanks Rachael Lawton

Very central for getting to London (Train station just around the corner) The hotel annexe is getting very tired. The decor is in need of attention. The curtains at the window were in shreads, falling apart and badly stained by condensation / damp. (The curtain lining, not the main material) The bathroom had not been cleaned properly, the plug had a mass of hair in it, not nice!! The bathroom floor tiles were loose and the shower screen leaked water all over them.Room 36.

I like the Park Hotel because of it's location and friendliness I think the Park Hotel has become a little run down and needs some decoration.

I requested an easily accessible shower as my husband is frail. You very kindly arranged for a ground floor room with disabled facilities to be available for us and this is much appreciated. The bathroom floor is in a seriously damaged condition, with major cracks in the surface making walking dangerous. My husband is not in a wheelchair - he has difficulty walking and was afraid of tripping on the broken flooring. He is recovering from a broken neck and I'm sure you will appreciate my fears about a fall. There were grab handles but even I (mobile) couldn't reach one to hold while exiting the bath. The emergency pull in the bedroom was tied far to high up to be reached by a person in a wheelchair. I feel that the room was "tired" and needed a complet re-fit. It was still reasonable value for us at a reduced price but I would be surprised if a full price customer would think so. In answer to your question below: Yes, due to its location but with a warning about some basic facilities

Very pleasant hotel with nice facilities. Food was excellent. There was a lot of noise from the room above until 2.30am! Made sleeping difficult and you could hear the toilet flushing.

The Park is a friendly hotel with easy access to the local train station. The restaurant is airy and relaxed. There always seems to be something - albeit minor - going wrong: this time a shower head falling off, an other time a half used bottled of shampoo was left in the shower, etc. This is easily outweighed by the hotel's adavantages but one can't help but notice.

Friendly staff on reception, nice size rooms, good location. Breakfast is a nightmare, you have to wait too long to get served, and then they cook everything fresh so it then took around another 10-15 mins to get cooked breakfast delivered. Also when it did arrive the sausage was not done in the middle which was really annoying. (happened on two separate visits!) Also breakfast you need to allow a good half an hour or so which is just unreliastic when you are on a tight schedule. . Also no tea spoons on table, had to stir my tea with with a dessert spoon as couldnt get anyones attention, there was no milk, no sugar etc. Very Poor service in my opinion and this lets the rest of the hotel down. This in my opinion needs sorting as you will end up loosing repeat business. .

It was clean and confortable. The staff were generally helpful and welcoming. There was a lack of clarity about costs. It seemed to me that there were three different possible rates for the continental breakfast. I was suprised to be asked to agree an arrangement which could cover up to 150% expenditure. As an old codger I was dismayed at the distrust, however impersonally intended this arrangement evidenced. I believe that this requirement should be expressed at the time of booking a room, not sprung on a customer at their arrival. I was not happy about the lack of clarity in room pricing. When trying to book initially on the phone the proposed charge was notably higher the the internet information . Booking the next day I was made an offer appropriate to the published scale though it seems to me that you are probably not acting in terms of the supply and demand argument for differential charges when it comes to surplus capacity even a slight offer of reduction might encourage rebookings. I felt that many of your staff were anxious, this may be because of unsympathetic management and vague and inadequate training. A management fault, not a staff problem. I was also a little suprised to find hot meals served on less than well heated plates and disappointed with a Ceasar salad True there was an apology and recompense offered I am almost 80 years old and have Alzheimer's with no wish to find complaints with others. I hope my comments may be seen as intended to be helpful and considered as such , to benefit the hotel and its customers. Sincerely Eric Batten

Convenient location in Teddington close to pubs, restaurants, public transport. Braekfast was not available on Sunday morning at 0800 as advertised because the chef did not turn up for work on time.

Location and proximity to local transport routes The quality of the room did not reflect the expense of it. Also, there was a lot of noise as it was a room which lots of people passed on the creaky stairs. The pillows and bed were quite uncomfortable.

Restaurant was straight out of Fawlty Towers-no cereal bowls or spoons- they produced bowls when asked-with soup spoons! After waiting 15 mins to be served, I had to ask for coffee, which arrived after 10mins without cup or milk-other tables were the same. We all asked for cups, but after another 10min wait, I gave up and left. No butter or preserves despite rolls on the servery. Thed cockroach walking around in reception when I checked out was the icing on the cake!
