Location is excellent - Eastbourne Pier opposite. Breakfast was good. Hotel was very good value for money. Parking was a problem with no private parking, but this is the same for all but the most expensive hotels in Eastbourne. Our plight wasn't helped by us arriving at the hotel on a sunny Sunday mid-afternoon when the resort was packed with day trippers. Only got one key between the two of us. On Sunday evening at about 9pm when I wanted to go in hotel, but other half wanted to stay out for a couple of beers, we had problems, because hotel front door had been shut and key fob was required to slot in for electricity within room. In hindsight could have taken front door key off fob, but only occured to us afterwards. Hotel owner did also say afterwards he could have supplied us with 2 keys , so not too much of a problem if stopping for longer than the 2 nights which we did.

Friendly relaxed atmosphere. We were allowed to come and go as we plw eased. Excellent breakfast. No parking facilities but this is a common problem in Eastbourne. Walking up 55 stairs as the lift was so tiny I was claustrophobic!!!

Good central location opposite the pier but this made set down/pick up on arrival/departure and car parking quite difficult, especially with an 87 year old and a wheel chair. Pretty good value for money. Very good cooked breakfast, although options of fresh fruit/muesli/yogout etc.would have been good additions. Apart from the arrival (below), the staff were all friendly and helpfull. Upon arrival (4pm), our room wasn't prepared/hadn't been cleaned - this was clearly unacceptable. We were offered either to wait for it to be cleaned or an equivalent alternative room which we chose to take. When booking we asked for a sea view room for my mother (87 years old) as it was a special treat, (this was stated as being available at the time of booking), but her single room was small, with no sea view, no chair, and a sloping floor! She was dissappointed, but the receptionist said that nothing else was available - despite the fact that the hotel was nearly empty at this stage. We didn't like the fact that our money was taken out of our account before arrival - I have never come across this before.

Location, price and seaview. Bath was dirty, matress was very poor, kettle was really old (room 205). I read that people were satisfied by the breakfast, we were not - no fruits (even bananas!), no yoghurt, no cakes and no cheese! I think this is really bad if you are not big fun of full english breakfast. Although we had smoked salmon and it was good. I won't come back here.

My room was very comfortable, with an ensuite bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities. It had everything I needed - and a sea view too. The hotel was in easy walking distance from the railway station and gave immediate access to the pier and beach promenades. Every full English breakfast was marvellous and set me up for the day. You could get evening meals (most days), Sunday roasts and drinks from the bar The staff were only too pleased to chat and help out if needed. I liked everything about The Pier Hotel - I have already recommended it to friends and family.

The staff were friendly, the hotel overlooked the sea and was central to everything in Eastbourne. the rooms were clean and warm. The hotel was a little noisy at night the noise travelled from the other rooms and corridors. But no more than can be expected.

The recdption we received on arrival was excellent, very friendly right from the off which put us at ease straight away. All through the weekend, the staff were attentive and always asking about our stay. Altogether, a very good holiday experience.

It was in an excellent location and was very good value for money. It was a pity that the bar was not open for residents to have a night cap before retiring to bed at what I considered a resonable time.

The location of the hotel is directly opposite the Pier so very central to seafront, activities, shopping, restaurants etc. There was a bus stop too with general routes and 'Tour' buses. Room had a sea view which was nice (but sadly weather not! ) We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. Reception staff were friendly at arrival and checkout. The room was clean and the bathroom good with adequate space and provision all round.

Room was decent size, clean, and comfortable. In fact the whole hotel seemed to be well maintained and in a good state. Staff were pleasant, and great location, right on the Esplanade by the Pier. Breakfast was just okay. A selection of some more healthy options would be preferable, rather than just cereal and milk. Maybe some fresh fruit or yoghurt would be good. And the shower is probably the worst I've experienced in any accommodation. No pressure, difficult to get to right temperature and the bracket holding the removable shower head was virtually falling out of the wall. Don't know what the other rooms are like - but please replace the shower in Rm 303! Thanks.

On a positive note staff were very helpful, breakfast was very good however our room needed a good clean inch of dust on the headboard both plugs in the bathroom sink and the bath were broken, bath needed replacing or re-enamelling, no toilet lid and the seat is badly stained. The window latch in the bathroom was ripped off and left on the window sill along the with the debris.

The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has character and is typical of a Victorian seaside town seafront hotel. Our single rooms were small but adequate. They were clean and very comfortable with their own bathrooms. Great cooked breakfast was included. Would stay again.

Accommodating and Clean. Breakfast was good. I wish the Hotel had said they had a wedding reservation before I Booked with small children they need to sleep, you stay In a hotel for rest, We came home more tied plus we couldn't use the facilities in the evening as they were in use by the wedding party. I would stay again but I would ask if they had a wedding on!
