Location is excellent - Eastbourne Pier opposite. Breakfast was good. Hotel was very good value for money. Parking was a problem with no private parking, but this is the same for all but the most expensive hotels in Eastbourne. Our plight wasn't helped by us arriving at the hotel on a sunny Sunday mid-afternoon when the resort was packed with day trippers. Only got one key between the two of us. On Sunday evening at about 9pm when I wanted to go in hotel, but other half wanted to stay out for a couple of beers, we had problems, because hotel front door had been shut and key fob was required to slot in for electricity within room. In hindsight could have taken front door key off fob, but only occured to us afterwards. Hotel owner did also say afterwards he could have supplied us with 2 keys , so not too much of a problem if stopping for longer than the 2 nights which we did.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Considering the price the food and location was very good. The hotel could do with a facelift but expected nothing more for the money. Stayed in a seaview room which was on the the top floor. There was no balcony and the windows were small but a lovely view and could be opened fully to hear the sea.

After reading some rather negative reviews about this hotel we had quite low expectations for it. However to our suprise it was very pleasant - we all felt it was a home from home. The hotel staff were friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable, breakfast well cooked and plentiful and all our needs were met . We enjoyed using the lounge in the evening as there was a great selection of family games and a television. The hotel is placed centrally so we could walk everywhere. We would definitely come back again. Slightly noisy after 10pm due to nightclub under hotel, however the noise did not prevent anyone from losing too much sleep.

Good breakfast with the exception of the sausage! Free wi fi Publicity about the hotel should mention the night club at the end of the pier which involved late night revellers and the "boom boom" of the "music" until early hours of the morning. No telephone in the room to contact reception. Complaints to staff about bathroom heater ignored. The bathroom window which wouldn't stay closed was fixed with two blocks of wood - not much of a recommendation for a hotel.

Excellent location right next to the Pier and within easy walking distance of the centre of Eastbourne. Sea views from the front of the hotel picture postcard. Kind friendly staff who went out of their way to be helpful. Room prices good value. I would definitely stay there again.

Fab location, opposite pier and just a few mins walk to town. Friendly welcome, nicely presented and clean. Lovely breakfast. Would have liked an internal bar, open for a relaxing evening drink.

Good seaside hotel. Extremely friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Held a room for me while I was away for a night in the middle of my stay (even let me leave my stuff in it without paying for the night). Assisted me with other travel bookings using their own personal laptop. Super helpful genuinely nice people. Good breakfast. Lovely views from front rooms. Short walk to restaurants and shopping. Showers need a bleach spray but thats easily sortable

The location and very friendly staff. One set back was the volume of the television (virtually at full volume) in the lower bar which I was given to understand was run by a different manager none of the staff were as polite or attentive. I feel this area could be improved upon if the staff undertook training in the art of dealing with guests and customers.

Close proximity to the pier and shopping centre as well as restaurants The welcome to the hotel was poor. When we checked into one of the rooms, the toilet was very dirty and we had to flush it. My wife highlighted it to one of the staff at the reception and there was no apology and she was told that someone will be sorting it out. A member of staff came to see us about it and we were asked to show her the dirty toilet. She said that it was not dirty but we told her that it was because we have flushed all the traces of human faeces when we checked in. We had to do this because we could not stand the stench!! No alternative room was offered no doubt we did request for it.

It was directly opposite the pier entrance and the beach was just across the road. We stayed in room 204 which was at the back of the hotel. Not so nice view of washing line, broken ladder and the back of other buildings. The shower was irratic, turn on the hot tap and no hot water for ages then when it starts to get warm, turn the cold tap on and ........... scolding hot water. Turn the hot tap off and ....... still scolding hot water!!!!!!!! Recommend a bath instead. I found it very strange that even though the temperatures outside were hitting 25c they still had the heating on full blast and you felt you were melting before you got into your room. No air con or fan, this was not good. Breakfast was adequate but not fantastic.
