Piries Hotel4/8 Coates Gardens, Haymarket, EH12 5lb Edinburgh (Show map) Good, Score from 314 reviews“the location was just a 15 minute walk from the main attractions, expecting to find cheap decor in the room as price was very low however, the rooms were clean and very modern. would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a cheap nice city break.”

This budget Victorian hotel has clean rooms with private bathrooms just a few minutes from Haymarket Station and a 10-minute walk from Princes Street, Edinburgh's main shopping area. Hotel was clean and warm, staff were friendly, rooms were cleaned regularly. We booked a double room, expecting an ensuite. We didn't get an ensuite. The bathroom was down the corridor and we had to go through a public area to access the bathroom. We did mention it to the staff but they had no other available room and did not offer any apologies neither compensation. When we checked in, they did not mention this fact to us either. It was rather disappointing, especially as the hotel did nothing or offer anything to rectify the situation..

The staff are very professional and friendly, the room was spacious and clean. The hotel is 2 minutes from Haymarket station, giving it a good access to the entire city. There is no lift in the hotel, so unless you booked a gf room, you'll have to climb up long stairs with all the baggage. The wifi should be free, and the breakfast needs more diversity considering it's not included in the room's rate.

The staff were brilliant and very helpful. The location is excellent for easy access to Edinburgh city centre. The booking was for three people and the information provided gave the impression that there were three beds, but on arrival the bed for the third person was a camp bed which collapsed during the night and my son had to sleep on the floor. The shower drain was also blocked but this was resolved when the front desk was contacted.

Ideal for Murrayfield, 2 minutes from Haymarket Station, 10 mins walk to the stadium. Not based in main hotel but next door. no room numbers on doors so had to try 3 rooms before we found ours. Had to endure other guests trying out door. Although clean not keen on shared toilet facilities

Staff were really pleasant and helpful. Hotel walking distance from Murrayfield Stadium for concert we were attending, so location was ideal. Room very small. Spotlessly clean, but very basic. Ok for a one night stop-over, but the most comfortable room.

it was close to where i was going (murrayfield) decor and carpeting was poor and needed replaced, staff attitude left a lot to be desired, no on suite toileting facilities. had to move furniture to plug in kettle. poor lighting in hall and stairwell. 3 keys to get into room. no room numbers- had to guess which one was ours by trying others also. Interrupted by workmen while trying to get ready to check out....... overall a very poor experience.

The location was good for travel to and from the airport. It was about a 15/20 minute walk from Princes Street but it's a nice walk. There's a lot of nice restaurants and bars nearby. The staff weren't very friendly or helpful. We were put in a room downstairs and could hear people coming and going from around 7 in the morning and everyone talking in the breakfast room so it wasn't exactly a relaxing stay.

The staff were friendly and the hotel was lovely and clean and the room was a nice size and we had a great sleep. Nothing really about the hotel but that is never a 10 minute walk from the start of Princes Street not well sign posted and it takes at least a half hour and the average cost for a taxi was £7.

The hotel is in a central location (close to the sights and shopping streets) and also only a 5 minutes walk from Haymarket station. It is very easy to find. The rooms were modern & clean and had only just been renovated. Very comfortable beds. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Reception and bar are open 24/7. All in all, a great place to stay at and we will definitely go back. The rooms did not have air conditioning and it was too hot. The windows could not be opened properly to let fresh air in. The hotel only offers continental breakfast. It would have been nice to have the option to order full Scottish breakfast.

The location of the hotel was very good. The staff was very friendly. All in all, i'd definitely stay there again. The bathroom and the shower was outside from the room which was weird but it was an apart-like room so it was acceptable. The first night there was this sound within the walls like something was in it but we were so tired that we couldn't even bother to ask the reception what it was. The next night I was determined to ask but this time the sound was gone.

The staff were pleasant and courteous. The location was not a bad distance from the town centre. We stayed in the basement- the view was a rubbish strewn garden. The television was missing bbc channels. The toilet was so close to the bed and the partition door inadequate.

The room was excellent and the hotel location is very convenient both for public transport and to walk to the city centre. Warm and comfortable. Would certainly use this hotel again Only fault was the poor phone reception which meant I had to go outside to make calls. However, this seems also to be a feature all over Edinburgh!

Very close to Haymarket train station (3 min walk) and Airlink bus stop, 15 min walk to shoping centre. Clean room, fair price. Old window frame not tight enough, so I've got fresh cold air and street noise from outside (I had room 36). pvc window could realy help.
