The Quay Hotel and SpaDeganwy Quay, LL31 9DJ Conwy (Show map) Very good, Score from 74 reviews“The spa, the spaciousness, the view and the breakfast. Also, polite friendly staff.”
Claire,
Llangollen
This contemporary hotel and day spa complex offers real luxury on the breathtaking Deganwy Marina, with views over the Conwy Estuary. The fully non-smoking hotel has been meticulously designed throughout, and its architecture epitomises cool sophistication. The large, airy spaces, understated chic and sharp styling combine to create a truly inspirational hotel experience. Wall-to-wall windows with sea views flood the interiors with natural light, and the use of specially quarried Welsh slate makes a thoroughly individual design statement. The rooms incorporate plush beds dressed in crisp Egyptian cotton, luxurious bathrooms and unrivaled in-room facilities. Hotel Rooms: 74

We stayed at the Quay Hotel for 2 nights to celebrate our Pearl Anniversary as we had originally honeymooned in Conwy 30 years ago. The staff at the hotel were professional and welcoming as soon as we arrived. The room was excellent, clean, well-equipped and with the most beautiful view over the estuary. The breakfasts were great and cooked to order with the restaurant staff being very attentive. We didn't use the actual spa facilities but the pool, steam room and sauna were very good. All in all we had a great stay, the weather, views and hotel combined to make a fantastic and relaxing break.

Particularly impressed with the decor. Evidence of cleaning materials, which lowered the tone.

The comfort of the room, the very good food and the spa The hotel was a little let down by the service in the bar and restaurant, whilst this did not detract from an enjoyable stay it compared poorly to the front of house service, thats not to say it was unacceptable, just not quite as good as I was led to expect by the excellent reception team.

Good view from room, general ambience good Lack of covered walkway to room. Polished marble floors in lobbies dangerous in wet weather. Restaurant very poor: served 'gone off' steak, no managerial response at all: 'manager' eventually talked to us, but then left rotten meat on table! £15 for green leaf salad excessive. Soufflee cold and raw in middle. 'Five welsh cheeses' were only two pieces each of three cheeses: no blue cheese but it was served at breakfast time next day! Junior waitress bothered us twice during dessert about bill, first time we asked to leave it til the end, then she came back and asked us if we'd like our bill while we were still eating. not very impressed by heavy disco beat audible presumably from room above.

Feel easy hotel, very comfortable and pleasurable. Fantastic location.Good choice for breakfast, very tasty. Good size comfortable bedroom and bed, excellent bathroom. Easy to get to other touristy destinations. Friendly staff. The bedroom was very hot, difficult to cool down, has no air conditioning, this is very bad for a hotel of this standing.

Very friendly staff, pleasant greeting with mulled wine, the room was excellent The room was immaculate apart from a single long hair in the corner of the bath from a previous guest (presumably). When looking for something I'd lost, I also came across a toe-plaster from a previous guest by the bed. Given we were otherwise delighted, we made no mention of this at reception. A wall clock in the room would have been handy.

The location was particularly good, with superb views across the estuary and easy access to all of north Wales. The room was of a good size, and the bed very comfortable. The chairs in the bedroom were not very comfortable. Booking online meant we had to pay for breakfast, which was rather expensive as an addition.

The location is excellent, scenery fantastic and the hotel is very warming and welcoming. The only thing we did not like was that the pool and spa was full of children due to being half term holidays we do appreciate that, would be lovely to have facilities for an hour or so child free?

Location for the Conwy food Festival. We arrived at our room 238 over looking the estuary, sat on the balcony& had a drink: then our peace was shattered; a wedding party arrived and the noise and music carried on till 1.00am. In the end we went out for a meal to get away from it all, not what you want for a relaxing break! Why we were put right next to it when we could have had a quiter room I do not know? Negligence on the part of reception in not asking us on arrival if we belonged to the wedding party. I would advise anyone booking to check if a wedding is on and do not have room 238 or one anywhere near it. I fear that weddings are the priority for this hotel & there is complete disregard for other guests staying which is absolutely appalling. I am sad to see other people have made the same complaint, its about time someone took notice!

The restaurant was superb again as we'd experienced once before recently. The pool was nice too. Ground floor rooms near to the bar and bistro. Too near to wedding parties. Noisy at night due to their evening receptions upstairs too. We would only stay again mid-week if we were to stay again as we would probably avoid the weekend weddings clearly held regularly at the hotel.

The ambiance was one of relaxation and luxury; the suite was enormous and very comfortable and the view was lovely even in the driving rain. Spa facilities a bonus we were in Tower 2 in a suite and had to walk in the pouring rain to the main building...there is a real need for a covered walkway; an umbrella in the room (which wasn't available) just doesn't cut it!

Our stay at the Quay (pronounced key) was quite excellent. The facilities were tops and the location is both scenic and convienient for exploring all of North West Wales. Everything from the Conwy Castle that sits across the water from the hotel to the Great Orme trolley and 3000 year old copper mines to explore. All along with the hospitality of the Welsh people and culture. A grand time... Wish I had longer.
