I chose Raven Hotel as I'd previously stayed at one of the Old English Inns, and enjoyed it. It was warm and inviting, clean and good value for money, with all the facilities we needed. For us it was very conveniently located, near to the railway station, as we needed to get to Basingstoke in the morning for a family funeral. There was an excellent choice of items for breakfast. We booked in during the evening and had to go out again, arriving back late, so we were very pleased to be able to gain access at a late hour. The only small hiccup was that we'd booked a double and a twin room, and were given two doubles. Since one of our party was unable to join us, this did not present a problem, but could have done.

Hotel is situated in a central location and is next to Hook station. Good Facilities with free wifi all over the hotel. Homely place to stay. Could be flexible in check-in and check-out timings for the amount paid.

The location was brilliant with the rail station next door and a Tesco in walking distance. Was impressed with room facilities. I noticed that there was no lift. Or not what I could see.

The most memorable thing about the hotel is how very helpful and friendly the staff were to us. We had booked a superior room and concluded that the benefits over the standard room were that the bed was a super kingsize and the room was on the first floor. While the bathroom needs updating and overall the room was small with non-descript decor, the bed and bedlinen were very nice.

Check in and breakfast and dinner was very good The barman served a warm glass of white wine, and when I asked for a cold one, he replied I can put some ice in as we have no bottles in the fridge.!!! Not a good practise We have a twin room and the beds are vey narrow, no newspaper arrived We wanted to pay cash at the end of the stay, but we were informed that the card had been used..!!!

Good location and near to train station. Excellent breakfast and lots of choice. I stayed at the Raven Hotel as me and my husband had a wedding to attend that weekend. We were flying in from Singapore that morning and asked for a early check in if possible. We received an e-mail from a lady stating this would be fine and that if not she would let me know and they would do the best to accommodate us. This made us feel positive about the hotel. However when arriving the man at the desk was not welcoming, rude and even bad mouthed his colleagues to us as he wouldn't not keep to the early check in., I would not have minded as it was a big ask however he didn't even say he would try and have a room ready as early as possible. Overall the stay was ok but his attitude spoilt our time there and I would not stay there again, there are plenty of places to stay in that area for the same price and the rooms are bigger, less noisy and have better staff. Good else where!
