The staff are very friendly, the rooms & beds are comfortable and the location is perfect for us.
Breakfast was lovely
Room was quite small but walk in wardrobe and huge bathroom so seems silly should have made room bigger with smaller bathroom and no walk in wardrobe
Room was noisy (from next room). Tricky shower mixer.
The value you got for your money was very good indeed
Poor lighting in the restaurant. Communal areas such as corridors etc., look old, gloomy and dull. Other communal areas (bar) had different pieces of carpet all around.
Location excellent right opposite the railway station. Room was a decent size. Good breakfast.
Room was a little tired. Quite dirty on the inside of the window frames.TV reception on any channel other than BBC/ITV...poor.
all of it
Lots of stairs
The room was clean and comfortable but there was a stale smell in the corridors and in the bar. the staff were very friendly helpful and professional
the smell in the corridors was stale
Friendly staff and location
Cracked basin, dirty shower grout, general state of room
lovely breakfast, comfortable bed, friendly staff
door would not lock unless slammed shut, nearby rooms must have had similar problems as doors could be heard slamming late at night. Window stay broken and could not be closed fully, making room insecure.
nice comfy room restaurant and food good. Breakfast lovely all staff nice and friendly.
Mold in the shower. Too expensive for the interior design of the hotel.
Room was clean Bed was comfortable Breakfast was excellent Restaurant offered plain good food
Wi Fi requires you to open an account with "The Cloud". A torturous procedure that even the staff did not understand.
restaurant was lovely for breakfast. rooms neat and tidy. shower a bit hard to use even with the instructions
after room was cleaned the window was left open and as the window is directly next to the road and no security bars on the windows I was concerned that someone could get in.
My Granddaughter, and Grandson with their partners were visiting England from Australia. Altogether 7 Family members were here, & we did not have room at home to sleep them all, so as a surprise we booked the Grandchildren & partners into the Raven. They were more than satisfied with their 2 night stay, comfy beds, very clean,, & an excellent breakfast. would thoroghly recommend it
The staff were friendly
The room was poorly cared for with brown around the taps and a large dirty crack in the sink. We could hear every word the couple above us had to say, including the girl freaking out about a daddy long legs at 1am. Could even hear the stream of urine hitting the water in their toilet. So we did not sleep until 4am after ringing reception when the noise above turned into qhat sounded like someone having multiple black outs causing them to fall to the floor repeatedly. Unfortunately they had not. We were offered a suite for our "next visit" but declined in favour of a refund.
Excellent staff that were very helpful. Excellent value with a beautiful breakfast included. The adjoining bar offered good affordable meals. We were made to feel very welcome despite having three small children one of which was sick and required a change of bedding in the night.
Our family room was located up several flight of stairs and has large full length glass windows. Apart from this I could not fault the place and would recommend to families.
The attached restaurant is excellent, the rooms are comfortable and reasonably clean
hotel was fairly noisy but that was more to do with some of the guests rather than the hotel
I stayed here recently with my partner and young child. Was very happy once arriving as the exterior looked very nice. The hotel reception was a little grubby to be fair, and the rooms had a lot more to be desired. The pub on the overhand was superb. The food, decoration and atmospher were great and really made the overnight stay worth while. The rooms really good do with refurbing to make this hotel very nice.
The hotel rooms were a little grubby.
Food was good Convenient location
Noise from pub kept us awake Noise from plumbing from own room and others A bit tired No bedside table Remote control didn't work
Good size room. Excellent choice of breakfast.
Musty smell in the en-suite.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, good food, especially breakfast freshly cooked eggs Benedict. Wonderful evening entertainment at end of month, with added bonus if not wishing to join in cannot hear anything from rooms.
Net curtains could have been newer.
Very friendly staff, nothing too much of a bother for them, reasonable rate and great room
No lifts but staff were most helpful
Staff very helpful. Breakfast excellant. Location very good. Whole stay was very good but spoiled by the beds.
Twin beds not comfortable.I think that the bed is a 3ft and mattress 3ft.6in. It hung over each side of the bed.
