A really good find. Very roomy & comfortable room, spotlessly clean. Nice atmosphere throughout and really welcoming, helpful staff. Good restaurant food. Wonderful breakfast. Plenty of parking. The Red Lion is definitely on my 'a' list of places to stay Not really a complaint - just an observation. The bedroom lighting was just a little low for comfortable reading.

I always find the red lion to be comfortable, with friendly, helpful staff. The food is good quality and the atmosphere pleasant. Having stayed several times before I was dissapointed that there is no longer waitress service in the restaurant. I do hate having to mess about at the bar to order food. Especially if there are a lot in your party.

The Olde World feel and layout. Pleasent helpful staff excellent Breakfast menu . Great potential to be even better , given a refurb . . . . ! ! Slow at checking us in as guests, and we witnessed other couples who waited too long to be checked in , we assured them that some one would come eventually , and the bell for assistance did work ! ! Bathroom had black mould on tiles around the bath taps , paint peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom , extraction fan in bathroom not working . Bedroom cracks in the ceiling , tired decor , wallpaper starting to peeling off the wall, intrusive external security lights that made night into day passing thru closed bedroom curtains at the edges . Busy A57 meant we couldnt have window open due to volume from road traffic (room 17) have photos for proof if requested . we be corresponding direct to the company who own the Red Lion for compensation....... Dangerous access in and out of the carpark , due to volume of traffic at rush hour periods, not for the faint hearted. this is more of a pub than hotel.

The room was a good size, price was competitive, staff are very helpful.good food. Don't always believe responses by previous guest, ie rooms need attention, road noise, of course there is road noise if you are next to the main road, but you would have to put your head out of the window to hear it.where do these people live Camelot.

Clean, comfortable, easy to find, close enough to Sheffield but definately out of the city rush. Good cooked breakfast. Had already eaten before arriving so didn't have evening meal, but would have been happy to do so otherwise. Good value compared to Sheffield hotels.

They allowed us to book in early. Check in was 2pm-11pm but we were off to a wedding (so impossible check in time for us). A fried breakfast was included in price. Easy to find as straight off motorway. The walls were thin and I was woken up by my neighbours at 6 in the morning. Could hear the shower and their whole conversation. The shower was not very good. If you had thick hair you would have been there a long time.

The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and an excellent cooked to order breakfast to boot. Would have no hesitation re-booking here. Could not get hot water for the bath - it was luke warm at best. The hot tap for the bathroom sink was very hot. Different supplies or is there a problem with the mixer tap on the bath?

We were impressed with the friendliness of all the staff from the time we booked in until we left. The meals were very good value with ample portions. It has to be one of the best inns we have stayed in.
