We were very pleased with our room, it was spacious, clean and comfortable. Good atmosphere in the bar and staff were efficient and friendly. Breakfast was ok but buffet table was not replenished, there were no plates to put pastries on. Disappointed that there was no butter available, not everyone likes Flora and we had to ask twice for toast and slice of lemon to go with smoked salmon breakfast. They ran out of orange juice, which in a pub seems unbelievable.A little attention to detail would have made all the difference. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again, excellent value for money.

I stayed at this hotel as it was only 5 miles from where I needed to be the next morning. Adjoining pub was very nice. Road outside very busy could hear a lot of cars going past at 5.30am in the morning. Room was tired and dated.

The Olde World feel and layout. Pleasent helpful staff excellent Breakfast menu . Great potential to be even better , given a refurb . . . . ! ! Slow at checking us in as guests, and we witnessed other couples who waited too long to be checked in , we assured them that some one would come eventually , and the bell for assistance did work ! ! Bathroom had black mould on tiles around the bath taps , paint peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom , extraction fan in bathroom not working . Bedroom cracks in the ceiling , tired decor , wallpaper starting to peeling off the wall, intrusive external security lights that made night into day passing thru closed bedroom curtains at the edges . Busy A57 meant we couldnt have window open due to volume from road traffic (room 17) have photos for proof if requested . we be corresponding direct to the company who own the Red Lion for compensation....... Dangerous access in and out of the carpark , due to volume of traffic at rush hour periods, not for the faint hearted. this is more of a pub than hotel.

The room was a good size, price was competitive, staff are very helpful.good food. Don't always believe responses by previous guest, ie rooms need attention, road noise, of course there is road noise if you are next to the main road, but you would have to put your head out of the window to hear it.where do these people live Camelot.
