Enjoyed the comfort of the beds and a good breakfast.
There was no hot water as the pilot light has gone out so we had to wash in cold water which was very inconvenient.
Easy check in and room was comfortable
food was distinctly average
Fantastic stay everything was brilliant..food, room, staff, all brilliant. Thank you we will be returning
Bed too soft for us
Wedding room very well prepared Comfortable clean room
Brealfast too cold No gluten free bread
The family room we stayed in was clean and modern. The hotel itself was certainly not lacking in charm, whilst the hotel staff were very efficient and extremely helpful. I would recommend this hotel to business people or families alike (having said that, I hope it doesn't get too busy otherwise I won't be able to book a room there when I need one) I wouldn't want to have to stay anywhere else when visiting family in the area.
Although this was the first time we have stayed here, I have already booked another couple of nights just after Christmas. There was nothing that I didn't like about the hotel or service we recieved.
The bar and Lounge area was warm and comfortable and with some nicely placed alcoves for privacy. We met relatives there and we all enjoyed ourselves. The dining area was excellent too and we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. The staff were all pleasant and helpful.
No complaints. To complain would be very picky indeed. If we were on the area again we would certainly stay at the Red Lion.
Beds were very comfortable. Room was lovely and warm. Breakfasts excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
My food was very good no complaints however my husbands was poor, it was cold. There appeared to be a shortage of staff however all the staff were freindly and polite at all times. It has not put us off usung the facilities again.
Food service was poor
Reception staff very welcoming and extremely helpful. Very friendly atmosphere with a great bar. Speckled Hen & Abbot it could not get better. We stayed for three nights and are planning a return visit in 2015.
Not a dislike more a recommendation, could do with proper soap and shampoo in the bathroom.
Staff very welcoming, friendly and informative. Popular restaurant locally. Accommodation more than comfortable for the price. Would stay again
The staff were friendly and I think the hotel/pub offered good value for money
Not being able to use the Wifi and the questions were too personal anyway
2 friends met up with me for meal and they were disappointed with the not so generous portions of their mealwhich was steaks I had lasagne which was good
Friendly reception - very helpful and great food.
Slow breakfast - not great for business travellers
Room was great, comfy HUGE bed. Location perfect for access to Sheffield or M1. Very warm welcome. Had a call prior to arrival to see if we wanted to eat in their restaurant on Friday/Saturday night - ignore this call at your peril as it gets very busy. Ate in room first night, restaurant second, food was good not great but good.
Staff in restaurant run off their feet which led to sketchy service. Especially on Saturday morning at breakfast they couldn't cope with the number of guests - tables left uncleared, orders gone missing. We had to ask for our second breakfast as only one was brought to the table. Staff were obviously feeling harassed by quantity of guests. On the plus side the breakfasts were very nice.
good location near Sheffield.
breakfast was terrible.
New decor looks a good job
They need more staff at breakfast time
Excellent staff, very friendly. Room was comfortable.
Just needs good WIFI with hotel password to be perfect.
Great pub, really delicious and good value menu, really welcoming staff.
1st night they gave us a room where the TV didn't work and it took them 2 hours to realize that it couldn't be fixed only by re-tuning the channels (which was the first things I did, took me 5 minutes to realize the same). Next day they moved us to another room.
Hotel accommodation Cleanliness of room Nice bed
Restaurant. Service was dreadful. Meal took over an hour to be served. No apology or offer of free drink. Many people were waiting for tables and my wife and I were put on a huge table for 6! Very poor. Other diners were complaining.
Excellent reception by Rebecca and Marie
Breakfast served on a cold plate
The Red Lion Inn/Hotel is not far from motoryway junction. Very near the Sheffield Arena and yet is near enough to the countryside to enjoy lots of walks. Not far from Sherwood Forest. Hotel was comfortable clean and newly refurbished. Breakfast included in price was excellent and the bar food in evening was good. Kettle and hot drinks in room. Would stay again.
very nice place to stay. The rooms are comfortable. The meals are very good too.
Everything!!! - the staff, the food, the room!!! - we only stayed one night, but would have no hesitation in staying again if we were in the area!!
We had no complaints at all - unusually for a British hotel everything was fantastic!!
food,staff carpark and the inn.
no shower gel
