To be fair the hotel could do with a spot of modernisation, however it was beautifully clean, the food was amazing and the staff were wonderful. They were helpful and friendly before our stay, extremely accommdating, every member of staff we dealt with were doing their jobs over and beyond requirements. I would definately recommend the hotel or stay there again Could do with modernisation or redecorated to fit the period of the building |

Staff and services were brilliant, we were there for our best friends civil ceremony. The wedding facilities, bar etc were fab, just what was needed. Room size was excellent as we had our daughter with us and tehy were very accomodating. But the whole hotel is in a serious need of a refurb. But if they did just these 3 things: super cleaning the bedrooms into all the nooks and crannys, re-grout the bathroom tiles and replace the mattresses with pocket spung ones then the charm of the hotel would overcome the need for refurb. The mattresses - like sleeping on the floor, even our 3 year old said the bed was lumpy! |

We asked for special attention for my mother, as she is 92 years old. Your staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive. Our initial reservation was made by internet offering a £54 rate for a double room. It was not until the on line reservation process was complete that the restriction of only one person appeared! This needs to be corrected. |

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good. We were initially put into rooms that were not part of the main building. It was obvious that they had not been used in some time - spiders in most corners, smelly bed coverings, heat on in bathroom during hot day. However, when we asked to move, the staff was able to accommodate us in the main house. |

Nice old-fashioned bar, and there is a pretty riverside garden area. Very scruffy: we had a cracked sink, curtain attachments falling off the wall, crooked wallpaper slapped on ceiling to cover probable previous leak marks, filthy windows, musty smells from previous leaks ,toilet that didn't flush very well, lift that gets stuck all the time...We were supposed to be paying £57 less than the usual rate, which means that that usual rate would be £100+ per night - which I just can't imagine! |

The staff were lovely and helpful. The location is really good for travelling out and about. The hotel needs a bit of tlc. It has the potential to be a fine hotel but needs a bit of investment to improve the decor and bathrooms. |

The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Judy Hope, also the breakfast was very nice. There was stained bedding, stained carpets, we could not open the windows and as the room was in an attic and it was very hot outside it was very very humid and unbearable. The matresses were so old and lumpy there was no support and as we both suffer from back problems this did not help! Staying at this hotel spoilt which should of been part a lovely break for us. |

The hotel staff-particularly John on reception and Suzanne in the restaurant-were very helpful and attentive. The room was not very clean-dust on windowsills and in bathroom-and the decor was very "tired".The bathroom was in desperate need of a refit. We ate in the restaurant and though the starter was lovely we had to send our main meal of fish back because it was raw! |

It is very close to the centre of Mildenhall which is one of my requirements. Very pretty gardens. The lift was very erratic. There was no tv remote, not a real problem, but settling down to watch the news on tv and having to get out of bed to change channels a nuisance after travelling all day. |

It was situated in very pleasant surroundings and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was good to stay in a hotel with character and not one of the anonymous modern boxes which abound these days. I have one or two comments where the hotel could improve. I found ivy growing through the window of my room and there was dust on the top of the windows which I found when putting back the curtain rings so the curtains would close properly. The remote control to the TV was missing and the kettle cut out device no longer operated. |

The character of the property and care was taken to make you feel welcome and catered for. Windows (lovely big sash windows) would not stay open in the room. Also it is fair to say that noise from other rooms (this was minimal it must be noted) could be heard word for word at times. |

Once a coaching inn, this striking stone Georgian building today offers comfortable accommodation in the heart of Newmarket. |
