The staff tried to assist and were helpful The building is very tired and needs a major refurbishment and en suite bathrooms need better cleaning and modernisation.

The staff at breakfast were fantastic, really helpful and the service was speedy. The breakfast buffet was lovely, lots of choice and the food was nice and hot. Fantastic coffee and choice of juices. The outdoor area looked lovely with plenty of seating. Loved the general feel of the hotel. The price of the room was excellent too. The rooms were a litle bit shabby, could maybe do with refurbishment though this may bump the price of the room up. There was a wierd green liquid coming out of the light switch by the door- room 105.

Beautiful location in the middle of the forest. On a busy road, but could not hear the traffic. Price was excellent. Breakfast (included in price) also excellent and lots of lovely altenatives. Only sorry I was not there for longer to try it all! If I was being very picky I would say that the furniture in the rooms was a little tired. However, very comfortable so not a problem.

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Room was very clean and comfortable, Shower was extremly powerful. All in all we had a lovely weekend. The Hotel in general does need a reburb, windows need repairing and a lick of paint, a few bulbs need replacing but these things had no bearing on our stay at the Hotel.

You're in the country (Ashdown Forest), yet near enough to small towns. And half an hour from Brighton. Good tv in room; fairly quiet considering there was an Xmas party going on when we arrived. Full English breakfast very good. Coffee good as well. Staff very helpful. Don't arrive after 11.30 in evening, you could be locked out as they have no night porter! Hotel could do with a bit of a refurb - it looks a bit worn in places.
