Very close to where my mum lives. This once smart hotel is now badly in need of redecoration and updating, particularly of the guest rooms which are dated, tired and have old showers which do not function brilliantly.

It was well placed for where I needed to be. I don't understand why some hotels still persist in taking card authorizations and then instead of completing the auth on departure, simply charge your card. So I wonder how long i'll have to wait until I can spend the 75 quid that they are still holding despite my bill already being settled in full.

Good location with access to major routs. Short walk to the center of Ware. My visit was work related, I would book this hotel again if in the area. A bit of general maintenance required, especially the shower and window curtains. (Room No 10) Evening meals were poor for this class of hotel on my first night the hotel only served bar meals, however the breakfast was very good.

Beds were comfy".....................only good thing to say We found the Roebuck Hotel, very shabby, dirty, and desperately in need of updating and full refurbishment, we had a warm welcome on checking in, room was light and airy beds were comfortable which is the only thing in there favour, the hotel need to find a good cleaner, but as it was dirty we didn't fancy having breakfast at the hotel, so checked out just after 8 am and had breakfast in the town.....location was ideal for our needs of reuniting with family living only 5 mins walk way.........

We stayed at the Roebuck as it is near to our daughters'. It was comfortable and friendly, if a little dated, and we will definitely use it when we visit again. My husband (who is very well-travelled through work) said it was the best hotel breakfast he had ever had. It was individually freshly cooked and made him very happy!!!

The location was ideal for my buisness needs, and the price was attractive. I was arriving late and informed reception who were most helpful explaining that there would be a night porter on duty. On arrival at check in the night porter and I found it difficult to understand each other. There appeared to be no lift. On entering my room it was freezing cold with the radiator turned off and the window wide open. The whole place looked a bit 'tired' and in need of some attention.

I spend most of the day out on business and only back to the hotel after dinner. Nothing fancy about the hotel, but the room was spacious for one with a single bed and bathroom was kept and maintained to a very high standard. The hotel was quiet throughout my stay and the staff at the front desk were really friendly. The manager who is extremely helpful upgraded me to a double bedroom for my next stay. Most of the town's restaurants and eat outs are located within a walking distance from hotel if you decide not to eat at the hotel. I recommend it for business travellers who are keen to stay at a quiet and comfortable hotel with friendly staff.

The location is perfect as within walking distance of relatives that I came to see. As a single female I would have preferred (and will ask for in future) a room not on the ground floor. The room was extremely hot and it took me sometime to work out how the thermostat would turn off. In fact I thought I had turned it off before I went out at 6pm only to return to find it had not been turned off. I was very reluctant to open the window at midnight despite the secondary glazing arrangment and after 2 hours of disturbed sleep through worrying about the open window on the ground floor, I got up and shut it. I think considering it was the first weekend in January the price of £69 without breakfast was steep

We had stayed there previously, but had not realised this time that the Elevator was non existent. I have a heart problem and being on the second floor was not pleasant. In future when I book and I do not get the ground floor I would look to book elsewhere. I found it difficult to request a change as I do not like to do so, otherwise all else was excellent.

It was available for the function we attended at the Hotel in the evening, However most plces we stay at, where the function is held, give us discounted rates for the night. The Roebuck did not offer any discounted rate. However most places we stay at, where the function is held, give us discounted rates for the night. The Roebuck did not offer any discounted rate. Why do you not offer breakfast with the online booking so that payment can be taken on line?

Booked The Roebuck, for the 3rd december, due to it's location and distance to Ware town centre (5 minute walk) as we were visiting family. We didn't spend much time at the hotel but.. Room and bathroom was very clean, bed was comfortable, room spacious. Plenty of tea/coffee in the room. Ordered a sandwich from the all day bar menu which was lovely and reasonably priced. Bar prices were also very reasonable. Staff were very nice and polite. Hotel is quiet at night despite being near a main road and having a function on. The knob to turn the shower on/off was very stiff, had to get my partner to do it. No iron in the room but asked at reception and they bought one to our room straightaway. Room was very warm but was easily rectified by turning the radiator down. We looked at the Roebuck on booking.com on tuesday and the price was £80.10 by the friday night when we booked it, it had gone up to £99 for a double room on a room only basis. I think this price is too high for what is basically a bed for the nght, my partner wasn't impressed and said he'd rather stay a little further out and pay less. However if they offered breakfast in with the room we would definately consider staying again due to the location. You can order breakfast, but would have cost £20 so we walked in to the town and found a lovely cafe for half the price. Couldn't book in till 2pm and had to be out by 11am.

Location As we were with several family guests we had the chance to see several rooms and all needed little things done to smarten them up. Wall paper peeling, chipped paint, tiles needing grouting, Nothing too big that an inhouse maintenance man could not do. This would make the hotel a1
